• [6.12.0-rc1] Dashboard settings panel confusion

    Kilrah
    • Minor
    • Have VM manager disabled, as such its panel doesn't show up
    • On the dashboard hide the "Users" panel
    • Enable VM manager
    • Now the "Users" panel is visible but the "Shares" one is hidden instead

Guess inserting one causes a shift somewhere.

Here is a more complete set of steps to reproduce:

    • Bring up the Dashboard Content Management window (using the wrench icon near the case icon) and click Reset so we're starting from a known state.

    • Go to Settings -> VM Manager and disable VMs. This hides the VM tile from the dashboard and removes it from the list of possible tiles shown in Content Management

    • Click the "X" on the Users tile on the dashboard to hide it. Then go back to the Dashboard Content Management window and confirm that "Users Information" is now unchecked in the settings:

    • Go to Settings -> VM Manager and enable VMs.
    • The VM tile is added to the dashboard as expected.
    • But the Users tile is now shown and the Shares tile is hidden. In the Content Management window we can see that everything has shifted so that now "Shares Information" is missing the checkbox instead of "Users Information"

The good news is that there is a quick fix to get everything back - click the wrench icon to open the Dashboard Content Management window and click "Reset"

Tiles are referenced by an index number. Changing the Docker/VM display setting makes the stored index incorrect.

I made a fix to reset the tiles display when the Docker/VM display is changed under Display Settings. A user needs to redo the modifs done on the Dashboard in this case.

Next release will have a fix which resolves the issue completely.

I'm very sorry for my poor English.
    From 6.12.0-rc1c > 6.12.0-rc1.4 > 6.12.0-rc2 the dashboard is blank and doesn't show anything.
    http://tower/Dashboard doesn't show anything
    http://tower/DashStats can display content normally
    Dashboard has no reset buttonphoto_2023-03-19_11-11-52.thumb.jpg.698b3757981d4abcc46955a62d2c6db5.jpg

You have a plugin like GPU Stats, Plex Streams, Disk location install which breaks the dashboard.

Thank you, it is normal after updating the nut plugin

Yes that particular issue is solved, thanks.

Still have issues that resizing the window will cause overlap until a refresh (Chrome) and that the same window width that allows for 3 columns on 6.11 only gives 2 on 6.12, but you probably want a separate report on that :)

That is a bug in Chrome, other browsers (Firefox, Edge, Safari, Brave) work fine

The Dashboard of 6.12 is not identical to the dashboard 6.11

Perhaps your screen resolution is on a border case.

Looks like 6.11 will give 3 columns at 1680px, at this point the docker containers section gives 2 by side. At ~1865 px it'll give 3 columns and 3 containers by side. 6.12 won't give 3 columns with any less than fullscreen on a 1920 monitor :(

In 6.11 the first column was made narrower to allow 3 columns at a resolution of 1680 or higher, but in 6.12 all columns have the same width. This is required because now content can be moved between columns and must stay the same regardless of position.
