  • [6.7.0 RC1] Drives drop off Marvell controller

    truck24000
    • Minor

when i reboot to install 6.7.0 RC1 i end up getting an unstable configuration.

When i revert back to 6.6.6 everything works fine.

i lose disks 3, 5 and 7 (i think those are the ones)

and will not even let me mount them again as it just says missing.

Well i installed and updated and I'm happy to say the LSI 9201-8i card was a success and everything is working beautifully!!! thanks everyone for the advice.  I don't know if i should put solved or not as the issue is still there!

anyone know if this is fixed in RC6?

Honestly, I've been watching every Linux change log for anything related to Marvell and haven't seen anything in a long time.  Also we have several servers with 88SE9485 based controllers and haven't seen any "drop off" issues, so not sure what to make of this...

Is there a way to run 6.7.0 with the previous 4.18.20 kernel?

Hi all, I've got a Marvell controller on my mobo (88SE9128) what're the chances when I upgrade to 6.7 it won't work?  Is there a running list of known good and/or bad Marvell controllers, or is it JUST the 88SE9230? (Bad in that they don't work with unRAID :) )

    thanks!

I also encounter this issue on 6.7. My SSD would drop everytime I try to run fstrim. It is a M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe WD Black 256GB (WDS256G1X0C) which I believe uses a Marvell controller.

Downgraded to 6.6.7 and it works again.

Haven't seen this with SSD's yet (not to say it hasn't been reported, just I haven't seen it).

If you don't mind, please try again and post diagnostics.zip right after it "drops off".  This is not going to get fixed until I can give Marvell something to look at.

If it can help, I stumbled across this post dating from RC3 which is about the exact same SSD model.

Sure I'll update to 6.7.0 and perform a TRIM then post the diagnostics.
