    Syslog server files are set to root:root ownership, not nobody:users.

    total 456
    -rw-r--r-- 1 nobody users  19529 Feb 17 11:38 syslog-10.0.101.1.log
    -rw-r--r-- 1 nobody users  18199 Feb 17 12:04 syslog-10.0.101.2.log
    -rw-r--r-- 1 nobody users 232831 Feb 17 13:08 syslog-10.0.101.3.log
    -rw-r--r-- 1 nobody users 191400 Feb 17 13:38 syslog-10.0.101.5.log

    The correct permissions and ownership are set when the file is created. Any existing files stay untocuhed.

    Starting with RC4 the correct permissions/ownership are set on newly created files.

     

    Log files created with a previous version, you need to change manually (or delete).
