• 6.8.0 RC6 - Starting "ALL" VM's causes VM's to disappear from Dashboard and VM tab

    • Solved Minor

Fired up my first VM from the VM tab in Unraid, and that started fine. Later, I started my second VM, only this time from the Dashboard page. Instantly the VM's disappeared from the VM section on Dashbaord as if I didn't have any, and now in the VM tab of Unraid it also appears as though I have no VM's installed even though they are up and running.

After manually stopping one of the VM's (virsh shutdown "vm name"), then they appear again in the menu's.

EDIT: We believe that now this is only triggering when ALL your defined VM's are started. As a temporary workaround define a blank VM that you have no intention of starting.

Ah, in that case, yeah. I guess having "all" fired up seems to be a common theme. One for all and all for one 🙂 @jbartlett

and there's the temporary work-around.  Create another VM and set the vdisk to be none so there's no excess space wasted.  Don't need to install anything at all.  Simply having the template there is enough

    Yup.  That works.

    Crafty!

So does this tie back to @dlandon ' s comment earlier about a trailing space on the VM list....?

I can reproduce. I have three VM's configured. Everything is OK in the Web UI until all three are started, then they vanish from the Web UI. If I shut one of the VM's down, then they display again.

Yes, I can reproduce this issue as soon as ALL VMs are started (in my previous testing I had one VM always stopped).

At that point "libvirt_list_domains" returns nothing

We confirmed libvirt 5.9.0 has this bug but libvirt 5.8.0 does not.  We are producing a 6.8-rc7 that reverts libvirt to 5.8.0 and also updates Intel Microcode (again).

    Hi,

Having the same problem, I can reproduce it every time.

Start one VM and its fine, start the second and they both disappear, even though they are running.

I used to run on 6.7.0, upgraded to the 6.8.0 RC6 build today, and am experiencing this problem now too.
Same thing, only have 1 VM, when started they disappear (virsh list shows it running).

When I create another VM, it re-appears in the list as "running".
