• [6.9.0 Beta 30] nginx timeout during Flash Backup

When I attempt to use the Flash Backup in the GUI, the zip is created but a download never starts. Logs show:

Nov 9 11:21:16 Neo nginx: 2020/11/09 11:21:16 [error] 27222#27222: *3553324 upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while reading response header from upstream, client: 192.168.20.5, server: , request: "POST /webGui/include/Download.php HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock", host: "neo.local", referrer: "http://neo.local/Main/Flash?name=flash"

Granted, this particular server has old hardware and the zip takes a while to complete, but even when checking the zip is finished in /mnt/user/system the download does not initiate. Any chance this is due to the change of backup location moving from root?

    Thanks!

By design, any request made by the GUI that doesn't complete in exactly 120 seconds will never complete (as far as the GUI is concerned).  Using a share as a destination (any of the default shares will be used: system, appdata, iso, domains) does impose another penalty as the drive(s) may need to spin up to accomplish this.

BUT, there are good things coming in the hopefully near future regarding flash backups.

    Thanks for the info @Squid

I'll chock this up to the slow zipping of the backup then and just use the terminal for backups instead.

Looking forward to more good things 🙂
