• [6.9.0-rc2] /mnt/user Disappearing w/ Fuse Error

    • Solved Minor

    Hi All,

    I did not find any bug reports specific to this error on this Unraid pre-release version, so I am reporting this here for others to also list their experience and diagnostics.

    This issue is usually noticed after dockers and VMs fail to start or fail while running and is always preceded by the following error in the syslog:

    shfs: shfs: ../lib/fuse.c:1451: unlink_node: Assertion `node->nlookup > 1' failed.

    I am aware this may be a bigger issue than just Unraid and this specific pre-release, but I feel it is still rather import to have it documented. This way a workaround or mitigation could be found and used in scenarios where having to perform a daily reboot to fix this is not an acceptable solution.

    This issue has usually been linked with other things interacting with /mnt/user, like a docker that directly manipulate files, e.g., renaming or moving them, also recently there was a case that was apparently caused by the Recycle Bin plugin.

    ah, hadn't seen those posts. I have been using the Recycle Bin plugin. I'll remove it and as many other plugins as I can and continue to monitor it and other dockers. Although, IMO dockers should be able to manipulate files on the filesystem without fear of breaking it. Seems like one of the main requirements of a filesystem.

    I have also switched my mover schedule from hourly to daily.

    So far so good after having removed the Recycle Bin plugin among others. That seems to have been the culprit, although I did make a few other changes so I am not certain it was Recycle Bin.

    EDIT: Marking as solved for now.
