Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this, but...

 

Wasn't Pinning always optional? I run a gaming VM and have never been able to spot the micro stuttering that is alleged to occur if cores are not pinned... I don't game that often so I unpinned the CPU cores for my VM to free them up for all the Dockers etc...

 

Am I misunderstanding something here? Has there been an improvement that means the micro stutters will not be an issue even if the cores are not pinned (again I've never been able to see them)
