Oddities going from Unraid OS 7.0.0-beta.4 to 7.0.0-rc.1

  • Solved
  • Urgent

I updated to rc.1 the other day, and then my Web UIs started timing out, and then I would no longer be able to connect to them. For all of my apps, not just the main Unraid UI. I've noticed some other people reporting similar issues, so I am sharing more info to support theirs but also I didn't find a bug report (maybe I'm blind).

It would seem to be a routing problem at first glance, and someone else has mentioned something similar, but I admittedly don't know enough about networking to understand why or how that would be. Here is what I know:

After a while of using the WebUI, it will stop connecting to any app on the server except Plex appears to be mostly fine. Even Windows File Explorer will no longer be able to connect. These devices are still able to access everything else on the network and internet. Different devices lose and gain the ability to connect to the Unraid WebUI at different intervals. Sometimes all at once, sometimes one at a time.

I have a static IP for the server, this hasn't changed, the name of the server didn't change, and as far as I can tell, everything should be connecting appropriately.

Various anecdotal things seem to change things in a way that it will suddenly connect, but then not work the next time, e.g., restarting the device connecting to the server, switching from a dummy to actual HDMI, power cycling the satellite my devices are connected to, power cycling the main router.

I have tried multiple browsers, deleting all browsing data (still logging back in to things -_-), and restarting the server itself, which seems to have no effect.

In the main thread for the update someone mentioned something about uninstalling Realtek drivers before upgrading, I do not have any installed.

When I was finally able to log in today, I noticed I had a ton of app updates, and a bit optimistically thought maybe that would help sort this out, so I started chipping away at that. While updating Intel-GPU-TOP I received the following error:

"Fatal error during onStartupScreen TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'stripTags')"

However it says it is now updated.

I ran Fix Common Problems and it's only showing available plugin updates. The plugins tab never loads. It just gets stuck on the Unraid loading lines animation and everything is unclickable.

I then went to check the terminal and logs but noticed that the link for those are now gone (among other things). I use the "Gray" theme and it appears to not be updated appropriately. Switching back to White causes those buttons to reappear (although in their different spot because of how the theme moves buttons).

Attached are my server diagnostics. Rolling back to beta 4 via Tools/Downgrade appears to fix these things.
