Reset issues when passing PCI devices to VMs on 7.1.0-RC4

  • Solved
  • Minor

Hello.

As I mentioned in the 7.1.0-RC4 thread, when I move a device to a VM and restart it, my VM no longer works because the device doesn't reset. It doesn't matter if it's an AMD or NVIDIA GPU, or a SATA controller. This always appears in the VM's log:

qemu-system-x86_64: vfio: Cannot reset device 0000:0b:00.1, no reset mechanism available.

So, to restart the virtual machine, you have to restart the entire server.

This only happens in 7.1.0, in all RCs from RC1 to RC4.

In 7.0.1, everything works like a charm.

Here are the diagnostics:

7.0.1 Diagnostics where everything works fine:

In these two screenshots, not even the smallest option has been changed at all, Unraid has simply been updated from 7.0.1 to 7.1.0-RC4 and the VM has been started.

Thank you very much🤗

Best regards
