Please report only issues/bugs which are new in the prerelease.

We've been holding back on this release a few days waiting for updated Intel ixgbe (10Gbit) OOT driver which builds correctly with 4.18 kernel.  But no update yet so this release uses 4.17.19 kernel.

Every major subsystem has been updated.  In addition @bonienl has added some really cool features and update the default themes to match our new branding.

    Management:

    • Docker: add optional per-container wait before starting
    • Enable IPv6 for NTP
    • rc.cpufreq: For CPUs using intel_pstate, always use the performance governor.
      • This also provides power savings on Intel processors while avoiding the ramp-up lag present when using the powersave governor (which is the default if ondemand is requested on these machines).
    • restore docker custom networks upon docker start
    • update smartmontools drivedb and hwdata/{pci.ids,usb.ids,oui.txt,manuf.txt}
    • webgui: docker: Correct docker container icon name generation
    • webgui: docker: added cpu load and memory load display
    • webgui: docker: added shell/bash selection for console
    • webgui: docker: Make cpu-load and mem-load only visible in advanced mode
    • webgui: Show accumulated encryption status
    • webgui: Prevent openbox from clipping
    • webgui: Plugins: Show support thread if present
    • webgui: Remove control codes, and extended ascii characters from plugin urls on install
    • webgui: Update link for privileged help text
    • webgui: fix regex matching for unraid.net domain name validation when using new openssl1.1
    • webgui: docker: Prevent arbitrary bash execution or redirection on docker create/run commands
    • webgui: Plugins: Preserve support link when updating plugin
    • webgui: diagnostics: Replace consecutive repeated lines in syslog
    • webgui: Remove empty entries when storing individual disk settings
    • webgui: docker: fix connect container console to new window
    • webgui: Use timeout in command execution of diagnostics
    • webgui: Fixed 'Update All Containers' button sometimes hidden in docker list
    • webgui: Added version control in docker API calls
    • webgui: Show docker allocations in column format
    • webgui: fix css help button in themes azure and gray
    • webgui: Added docker autostart wait period
    • webgui: Added CPU selection to docker container edit section
    • webgui: Verify internet access using NCSI method
      • NCSI = network connection status indicator. This method tries to access a specific Microsoft site to test internet access. The same method is used in Windows.
    • webgui: Added docker autostart wait period
    • webgui: New CPU pinning functionality
    • webgui: Change wording on dashboard page "memory total usable"
    • webgui: Include meminfo in diagnostics
    • webgui: Docker containers page: show container starting up message
      • Starting docker service and auto-starting containers has been decoupled. This lets the docker page return as soon as the service is ready. The container overview page shows a new message, and will automatically reload to update the status until all containers are auto-started
    • webgui: VMs: preserve XML custom settings in VM config updates
    • webgui: dockerMan: Avoid filename collisions on FAT32
    • webgui: Extract disk log from multiple rotated logs
    • webgui: theme-match marketing site

That looks like a problem on your flash device.

Powerdown your system and take the USB stick out. Let it do a scan and repair on a Windows machine

Apparently a reboot did the trick

    Remove "dynamix.plg".

I had the same problem. Note: the "dynamix" folder is still used so I did not delete that.

Restarted and everything works fine now.

This is an awesome release!! You guys did quite a lot of work. Thanks to all those involved!!

Design doesnt seem to be consistent.

Font seem to be bigger than before, and buttons seems to be too big, compared to earlier design.

I updated my server, but after the reboot and when accessing the GUI from my iPad or directly on the server, I’m getting a “File not found” error.  If I boot into Safe Mode with GUI, I’m able to access the GUI from my iPad and directly from the server.  I’ve attached my Diagnostics file.

updated an ml30 g9, mostly uneventful except with a new found call trace (created a separate thread)

Can I recommend a solid black or solid white version of the theme in addition to the split color look? It looks slick, with the redesign, but I think people's eyes are hurting on the forum (and now here) because of the stark difference between the top banner area and the opposite color below.  I used them each for a few minutes and switched back to gray. I suppose a workaround could be for me to upload a solid color banner... otherwise nice work

would be nice to see the inclusion of a few other much requested user items, but some things take time.

Just a few comments before posts begin with questions

The ability to pin cpu-cores to docker containers via the extra parameters section is now deprecated on 6.6  When using --cpuset-cpus AND the buttons in the GUI to pin cores, unexpected results will happen.  If you have previously pinned cores via extra parameters, then you should remove that setting, and switch to the GUI method

(Additionally, if you have CPU pinning set via extra parameters, the new CPU Pinning page in settings will not *appear* to save the changes - This is one of those "unexpected results")

Fix Common Problems will flag as an error if your container has both --cpuset-cpus and the pinning via the GUI present.  If you have --cpuset-cpus present by itself, then a warning will be issued suggesting that you switch to the GUI method.

Also, since its not completely obvious, not selecting any cores for docker apps will mean that the container can execute on all cores

    The new ability

    Quote

webgui: Plugins: Show support thread if present

Means that on the Plugins page, a Support Link now appears for every plugin installed.  The support links have been injected into the .plg file by CA for about 2 months.  If you have not installed any plugin via CA recently (ie: no support links are present on your plugins), then you should head over the to the Plugins page, Install plugin, and enter in the following:

    https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Squidly271/misc-stuff/master/pluginSupport.plg

This is not a Plugin that you are installing, but rather an easy way to quickly run a one-off script.

Either way, the next time you install a plugin via CA, all plugins will automatically have the support link injected into them.

@dmacias will ultimately have to update his plugins to REMOVE the link he's already including in the README.md file, but every other author does not need to do anything.  (Plugin Authors: CA / the script above are slightly modifying your .plg file by adding a support attribute.  There is no other change, but any spacing/formatting you may have in the .plg's header may be different if you happen to look at /boot/config/plugins/*.plg)

Oh and @bonienl, the white/black themes are awesome.  I never could quite get into azure/gray

Version 6.6 looks awesome.  Updated without issue on backup server.  Only problem found so far is docker check for updates does not work for me.  All needed updates, nothing happened when I clicked "Check for Updates" button.  Had to force updates individually to get dockers updated.

I was using the "Limey" user-provided banner on backup server.  It looks good with new theme and keeps a tie to the past while enjoying the new branding.

    Again, great job!

As I wrote in my bug report on the previous page (see here), you can check for updates by calling the script manually. It's not ideal, but at least it's a workaround until it gets fixed :)

Upgrade from 6.5.3 was painless and as someone else reported, the docker "Check for Updates" button doesn't work.

In stead of the numerous and rather larger oranage boxes on the bottom of the main page, is it possible to underline the options as is performed for the various tabs?

Is there a way to control the contrast or brightness of the server info section?  It seems very muted to me.

Lovely clean look and a nice easy update with no issues. Really can't recommend the Update Assistant enough.

    Awesome work!

Now for intel to get off there duffs and fix the 4.18 compile errors.

Anyway one minor GUI issue on docker page with long repositories:

    unraid.png

The version tab is a little too close to the Application Field :)

One last big request... Can we have an option in Display settings to Hide the ugly red version number below the awesome new Logo :)

Thank that did the trick! :)

I had SSD Trim and Statistics, no idea which one will stop to work but as long as unraid boots i'm happy at this point :)

    Thanks again!

Couple of times I've seen you post this.  Is there a problem that say my Update Assistant should look for?  Since he was coming from 6.5.3, I thought that an old version of dynamix.plg shouldn't attempt to load since it checked for OS versions.  (Only really ancient versions didn't check the OS version)

I had to delete the dynamix.plg file as well.  I was getting the "File not found" error when trying to access the web GUI of the server.  I deleted the file, rebooted and then I was able to connect.  I too was updating from 6.5.3.
