USB Creator fails at 7.0.0-beta.2 "server doesn't seem to support byte ranges"

Was trying to create a boot USB with 7.0.0-beta.2 ... all attempts failed with a "HTTP server doesn't seem to support byte ranges" error popup.

 

Same result on both Mac and Windows. Tried several times without luck. The download speed was excruciatingly slow, it takes about an hour to download only to see that error almost at the very end.

 

UPDATE: it's a bit faster now and seems to complete but at 99% it still aborts with the error "Error running make_bootable script".

 

Is there an alternative way to get 7.0.0-beta.2 ? There don't seem to be any links available anywhere... tricky!
