[6.12.3] NTLMv1 authentication seems to have disappeared again

  • Annoyance

In 6.11.0 NTLMv1 auth had been removed from the kernel, it was restored in 6.11.1 as per release notes, and had been confirmed working here.

It seems it's gone again, but I'm not sure when and no release notes make mention of it since.

I have a Samba docker container that's used to share a specific disposable scratch path with all legacy options enabled for use with my old/retro machine tinkering, but I can't connect to it anymore with e.g Win98.

Had to install an alpine VM with a samba server instead of just the docker container to share that path in a compatible way again.

Haven't upgraded to 6.12.4 yet due to having to have time to check the new Docker network things so if this was added back there (no notes about it though) I'd have missed it.
