  • [6.12.4] Password field missing after removal of my only encrypted disk

    Hello

I removed my encrypted drive after it started giving me some SMART errors (this was my only encrypted drive). But the password field was missing when I tried to rebuild the array. So when I try to start the array I just get a "Missing encryption key". I tried to create the /root/keyfile with my passphrase but It just gives me "Wrong encryption key".

I've tried rebooting both with safe mode on and off.

Is there a way to generate the keyfile manually. Or manually create the php request for the passphrase?

I'm unable to test it its reproducible.

    Thanks in advance

Looks like you've found a bug, see if this gets around it:

    -unassign the new disk5

-click on disk5 and change the fs to just xfs (not encrypted), click apply

-click on settings -> disk settings and change the default fs to xfs encrypted, click apply

    -back to main

-you should now see the enter passphrase/key field, enter it and start the array, disk5 will not mount, ignore for now

    -stop array

-click on dis5 and change back xfs - encrypted, apply

-it should ask for the key again, enter it and start the array

-confirm emulated disk5 is now decrypted and mounting and if yes stop array to assign the new disk and rebuild
