• 6.6.3 - Editing VM returns error

    No matter what I do trying to update the VM returns this error...

    I have an USB audio interface which I can't ad from the normal editor, which I can circumvent with adding

        <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='usb' managed='no'>
          <source>
            <vendor id='vendorID'/>
            <product id='productID'/>
          </source>
        </hostdev>

    The problem is have not ticked the audio interface (see image), and I'm not even trying to add it. Changing any setting returns creation error...

    HOW TO REPRODUCE:

    • Create a VM in 6.6.3
    • Install and boot with VNC
    • shutdown - then edit the VM (not XML)
    • For me trying to pass-through a GPU will create the error
      • (though any setting should do it, like adding more cpu cores)
    • Click update

    By manual adding the device in the XML file, it appears as an "unnamed device" in the GUI.

    Check the box of this device to keep it included.

    Maybe I wasn't being clear.

    I use the device In another VM, and I used the XML editor to be able to do that... (Its the only VM I use it in)

    - I'm trying to setup a new VM. I do so using VNC for graphics. It works, boots, etc.

    Then when I go back to edit anything. It spits out the error.

    I'm not adding the device to the XML using the editor or the GUI, but it spits out the error when trying to update the template...

    I think I see what the issue is.  I published a fix to our codebase and it'll be in the next release.

    yup, I had to make the regex a bit more strict so it wouldn't get confused by that.

    I'm glad you patched it. Thank you! I'm curious though what's the problem with AVID?

    Other than the recent creation error, I do have some weird audio issues with that audio interface in VMs...

    Anything I can do until the next release?
