    • Annoyance

I noted this strange behavior, when I add or remove a user while at the same time transfering files to/from UNRAID the transfer is halted and I get this error message:

It's normal since Samba is restarted, same will happen if you add/change a Share.

    Ah ok, I see.

But isn't this a quite serious issue, since this is a file server and you don't really know when someone is accessing the server?

For the case of Unraid in the home, it doesn't seem all that serious to me.

Adding users or shares isn't something that happens frequently in the home environment. And it is (or should be) easy enough to know when someone is accessing the server for those rare occasions when you want to do this sort of management.

In any case, it is temporary and its only effect is the one you saw, which is easily recovered from.
