• USB stick is deleted when ZFS pool is created

Hi, when I create a ZFS pool (2x nvme m2(, my Unraid USB stick is deleted. I've recreated the stick 5 times now and was able to reproduce it.

If the diags don't work copy the syslog somewhere else and post here, e.g.:

    cp /var/log/syslog /mnt/disk1/syslog.txt

I do see the flash drive is being wiped, not sure why though.

The pool you are trying to mount is degraded, missing a device, a device that is now a part of a different pool, maybe that is creating some confusion.

Let me try to see if I can duplicate, you are just starting the array, correct, not doing anything else?

Also please post a screenshot of main and the output of:

    zpool import

    before array start.

I know that a drive is missing.

However, there is no reason to delete the flash stick. Imagine that an HDD or SSD in your zfs pool is broken and then the unraid USB stick is also deleted. I have now created the stick again. Probably 15 times already.

I don't feel like having the stick deleted again. The error is there and it will affect other users, at the latest when a device in the pool breaks.

That's why I'm reporting it here as "Urgent". To have the error fixed and help before it affects others.

Understandable, I was just trying to make it easier to reproduce, because I wasn't able at first, but I've now managed to do it, difference was the number of slots for the new pool.

Thanks for the report, it's a corner case, but still a bug.

P.S. as a workaround for now, if you need to import a degraded pool give it the number of lots it should have, that won't trigger the bug, e.g.:
