	Well the topic gives it away, I have a USB stick with a test install, basic license and currently on 7b1. It cannot log into Connect, as it seems to use an old (?) URL in the popup/relocate.
</p>

<p>
	"Page not found: /server/register"
</p>

<p>
	As I cannot log into Connect, I cannot update my beta server since there seems to be no download for 'latest'. The archive only shows stable releases. That's a real bummer in my opinion.
</p>

<p>
	I honestly love convenient stuff, but once the manual ways get disabled, things are going the Microsoft way.

	Let me start out by saying I have a background in IT (more specifically, a Microsoft FTE as a Principal Software Engineer). I currently have an Unraid setup, and I want to love it-- but I am concerned with the current resiliency that is offered by your application.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	My use case:
</p>

<p>
	- Unraid is used as a central backup system for all my machines at home
</p>

<p>
	- Unraid is used to store critical files, that I concider important
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I live in the Seattle area, and experienced power outages, that turned our electricity on, off, on, off. This inevitably corrupted my file system. Now.. I was able to get most of it up,,, except:
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	1. Docker -- I ended up having to rebuild my docker.iso file. Which is fine, but why can't the platform detect a file corruption and guide the user on fixing it?
</p>

<p>
	2. I had corrupted data on one of my disks. I have double parity, but still, lost data. I read your warnings "do not do this for rebuilding or restoring data". I had zfs. there were no other easy options on getting my zfs store in a good state. Yes I lost data, but I think I can restore it from another location.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	all in all, I think your team should spend a few sprints on identifying ways to automate resolving common issues for the user, and giving them more piece of mind on having a redundant configuiration-- and protecting against issues as I've described.
</p>

	I recently had my USB stick fail on me. I decided to upgrade to 6.12.10, and as I have learned many years ago, I made a backup before I started.
</p>

<p>
	The upgrade took quite a while. Longer than it should have, but It said it had completed without error and a reboot will be required. Check! Rebooted. System takes longer to boot than normal, and pops up with a USB flash error. Drive is 'read only'... Ok. This isn't good. I decide to do a full shutdown and cold boot. Maybe USB bus could use a reset? After a cold boot, USB no longer shows up in bios, and thus, unraid wont start...
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	At this point I am unhappy. I grab a samsung USB, download the unraid installation tool, and flash my backup to the new USB. This process took about 12 minutes.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Ok. Lets cross our fingers and try to boot!... and Success! I'm literally right back to where I started before the update. I then get a notification that this usb is not what my license is expecting, and a 'click here to transfer license'. Check! License transferred! Great! I re-run the update to 6.12.10 (much faster this time) and reboot when completed. This part took about 3 minutes.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	After successful reboot of 6.12.10, I start the array and she's up and running as if nothing happened.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I just wanted to say thank you to All of the Unraid team for creating a backup/restore that actually works. Simple. Clean. Reliable.
</p>

	I have just seen on one of my Unraid servers that the parity disk is disabled.  Not sure why but I will swop out the disk.  However the only way I found out was when I directly accessed the unraid server.  I also use the Unraid Connect dashboard/plugin to keep an eye on the servers but this did not indicate any problems with the server which I am very surprised about as this is such a severe problem
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The Unraid Connect dashboard shows the server with the green online icon.  There is no indication that the parity disk is disabled.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	This is a major flaw with the Unraid Connect plugin/dashboard and needs to be included in the next update

	Hi Limetech,
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	First, I am unsure if this is the right forum for this but didn't see a better fit. I hope this is a doable feature request to cover off a small inconvenience. Can a change be made so that users can set the desired branch in the Tools, Update OS tab and be remembered and checked based upon the user's preference instead of the currently installed OS?<br />
	<br />
	My use case is I run two instances of Unraid, a production server on the main branch and a virtualized Unraid (i.e.Unraid on Unraid) on the next branch for testing. For my test version of Unraid, I would like it to be set and updated to the "Next" branch all the time. If this isn't clear, I'm happy to expand on idea.

	The whole point (for many of users) of hosting a server at home (work, etc) is to using selfhosted services, manage data locally and to not send it everywhere and to everyone, etc. Is there a option to selfhost Unraid Connect? Or will be it planned in the futute? Many of us want to manage data by ourselves and do not trust to third party people or services in matter of data - this is the basis and the whole point of selfhosting.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Also many of us have a lot of skills and can easily deploy such kind of service on VPS, on another server or somewhere else (I mean Unraid Connect) and configure network for secure access.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	For now we do not have an option to use best practices in security and privacy for Unraid Connect.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	For example with networking technologies, you can selfhost TP-Link Omada controller or Ubiquiti controller, why not Unraid Connect?
</p>

<p>

<p>

	I don't know why exactly, but BTRFS Raid 10 on 4 NVME 3.0 M.2 SSDs did not work well for me. I noticed consistent slowdowns when using SABNZBD at around 50MB/s to download to my Downloads share which lived on the raid 10 BTRFS pool. These drives are individually capable of multi-gigabyte writes per second.  The appdata share also lived on this cache pool. When these downloads were occurring other services including Plex significantly suffered performance degradation. To the point of Plex not responding anymore. All four NVME drives are connected directly to a PCIe x16 carrier card. I used PCIe bifurcation to have all the drives show up properly and each drive had a full x4 lane.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Based on my experience I'd highly suggest not using BTRFS Raid 10. I did not test Raid 1. I was considering this with running two cache pools in Raid 1, but at this point I know XFS works and is very performant. I will not have drive failure protection on my cache pool, but at least my services will be stable now.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I'll wait for ZFS to become fully supported by Unraid then i'll try using that for the cache pool. (please be soon)
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	On a side note, if you have multiple NVME drives connected to your server through a PCIe card that can support multiple drives and you are using PCIe bifurcation and are seeing PCIE hardware errors. I'd suggest changing your PCIe version/generation that the slot is running at back to 3.0 from 4.0. On my AMD EPYC system PCIe 4.0 was causing multiple hardware correctable errors which I was able to attribute to a poor connection/signal integrity. Once I changed the slot to 3.0 those errors went away. Also, I did experience the same slow downs for the BTRFS Raid 10 cache pool after fixing the signal integrity issue. The signal integrity issue did not cause the overall performance issue.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I'd love to hear others experience with BTRFS Raid 10. Have you had the same performance issues? And a large thank you to all the members of the forum for posting about their issues and solutions. Without this I'd have been lost in solving many of these issues.

	Hi there, I had come across this post <a href="https://perfectmediaserver.com/01-overview/overview/" rel="external nofollow">https://perfectmediaserver.com/01-overview/overview</a> and had known of the website for quite some time. But essentially, this post <a href="https://perfectmediaserver.com/01-overview/faq/#what-about-unraid-openmediavault-or-freenas" rel="external nofollow">https://perfectmediaserver.com/01-overview/faq/#what-about-unraid-openmediavault-or-freenas </a>is basically saying that the perfect media server is something open source. I have found a comparisment here <a href="https://perfectmediaserver.com/01-overview/faq/#what-about-unraid-openmediavault-or-freenas" rel="external nofollow">https://perfectmediaserver.com/01-overview/faq/#what-about-unraid-openmediavault-or-freenas</a>.<br />
	<br />
	But what I dont want is that in 30 years time something happens to unraid, and it shuts down or something like that. I hope it does last until the 24th century. I know it is built atop open source, but I have heard some people say unraid is not open source? i don't know if unraid is open source and the only part that is closed source is the payment system? If unraid is not open source, it would be a great feature to have, considering it's about self-hosting and people want things to last.

	Currently, myunraid.net does not resolve to anything. myunraid.net should redirect to the My Servers Dashboard (<a href="https://forums.unraid.net/my-servers/" rel="">https://forums.unraid.net/my-servers/</a>) as a quick way to access the My Servers Dashboard.

<p>
	Another thing i would appriciate is an API for Android and Windows, so you could monitor it in the background without having to login into this website in a browser!

<p>
	Thanks!

	Just thought I would post up here about a feature I thought would be helpful in future updates if possible. Would be nice to have more than just one backup on file, I recently had an instance where an issue I had was not noticed before a new backup was created automatically and I was unable to roll back to a previous backup.

	<strong>As I stated before I simply do not care for the cloud account nor the UPC options. Simply put I care too much for my security and my privacy.  I feel that is being forced on us without any options or consideration for best practice security principles.  I don't want to see it in my webGIU and I don't care to use it.  Can you please have a switch to toggle it off the webGUI so we don't have to deal with it every time we look at our dashboard? </strong>

	"UPC and My Servers Plugin - [rc2] reworded
</p>

<p>
	The most visible new feature is located in the upper right of the webGUI header.  We call this the User Profile Component, or UPC.  The UPC allows a user to associate their server(s) and license key(s) with their Unraid Community forum account, also known as an Unraid.net account.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Starting with this release, it will be necessary for a new user to either sign-in with existing forum credentials or sign-up, creating a new account via the UPC in order to download a Trial key.  All key purchases and upgrades are also handled exclusively via the UPC.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Signing-in provides these benefits:
</p>

<p>
	My Servers Dashboard - when logged into the forum a new My Servers menu item appears. Clicking this brings up a Dashboard which displays a set of tiles representing servers associated with this account.  Each tile includes a link to bring up the servers webGUI on your LAN.  Install the My Servers plugin to provide real-time status and other advanced features (see below).
</p>

<p>
	Notification of critical security-related updates.  In the event a serious security vulnerability has been discovered and patched, we will send out a notification to all email addresses associated with registered servers.
</p>

<p>
	Posting privilege in a new set of My Servers forum boards.
</p>

<p>
	No more reliance on email and having to copy/paste key file URLs in order to install a license key - keys are delivered and installed automatically to your server.?:

	I wanted to thank the team for how seamless they've made the backup and restore process! My USB drive failed last night, but luckily, the latest configuration was stored safely in the cloud. Restoring the configuration was extremely easy and got the server up-and-running in just a few minutes. A+ work, everyone!

	I installed the MyServers plugin and now allowed to post. Is there a way to have an unraid cloud account that will display registrations, servers, and even tech details on your servers. Basically have a copy of the local portal to a cloud account. I don't know...not sure if anyone would like that, but it seems everything has or is moving to somekind of cloud system. Of course if a user bought a certain level registration the cloud account would be free. If below a certain level, maybe subscription IF the user chooses.
