  1. Hi everyone. Yes, the forums went through an upgrade last night to both the software and theme. It appears either A) some batch jobs are still running or B) something went wrong. The performance is NOT what we expect, but I just ask for everyone's patience while we look into and resolve the issue. Thanks.

  2. @SpencerJ How do I fix whats broken in the Unread Activity? It used to display a thread only once, but now its utterly messed up and displays the thread multiple times. Notice how the thread "Neuer Server... würde mich über Beratung/Tipps freuen..." shows up so many time.

  3. I had forgotten about that episode. Yes, I generally keep my shirt on so as not to scare any women, children or people with sensitive eyes who may be in the vicinity. You could have chosen a different thread for your example in order to preserve what little dignity I have left! 😁

  6. This has been requested atleast once before by @aptalca back in 2018 however this still doesn't seem to have been implemented? Basically instead of one tarball of all the appdata directories, please could we have the option to have it seperated per directory? This will make a restore much easier for people who only want to restore one application. Currently they would have to manually untarball the file and move the directory. So the feature request is: Backup: In the backup config page have a option called "Backup Directories Seperately" If this option is selected it will backup each directory in the provided appdata directory into a time and dated folder within the provided backup directory. In addition to this if the "Compression" option is ticked then compress each directory. Restore: When someone chooses the restore option, along with the date/time selection provide a directory selection to restore (using checkboxes to allow for multiple selections and an "all" option to restore everything) Hopefully this is enough detail for the feature request to be actioned... @Squid

  7. Looks like I'm having the exact same issue with Radarr that some other folks were having, but I don't see a resolution for it in this thread. I have reverse proxies set up for Sonarr and Radarr in NGINX Proxy Manager almost identically (both with a scheme of 'http'), with the only difference between their port. Both work great. I began following this guide (which is fantastic, by the way - thank you) to set up Authelia and was successfully able to route Sonarr through Authelia on the first try. However, when I perform the exact same steps with Radarr and Portainer (add the rules to the Authelia conf file, add Protected Endpoint conf block in the advanced tab for each proxy host in NPM), Authelia redirects the subdomain to http://radarr.subdomain.com instead of https://radarr.subdomain.com and throws an error. (I can access it just fine if I manually add an 's' to 'http' myself.) Note that I've used the exact same Protected Endpoint conf as Sonarr, replacing only the container name for Radarr/Portainer. I have no idea why Sonarr is the only one being automatically redirect to https right off the bat. Edit: It looks like this is an NPM issue - I was able to resolve it using the recommended fix per this support thread. Essentially, replace this line in OP's original config: auth_request_set $target_url $scheme://$http_host$request_uri; with this: auth_request_set $target_url https://$http_host$request_uri;

  8. Hi guys, i got inspired by this post from @BRiT and created a bash script to allow you set media to read only to prevent ransomware attacks and accidental or malicious deletion of files. The script can be executed once to make all existing files read only, or can be run using cron to catch all newly created files as well. The script has an in-built help system with example commands, any questions let me know below. Download by issuing the following command from the unRAID 'Terminal' :- curl -o '/tmp/no_ransom.sh' -L 'https://raw.githubusercontent.com/binhex/scripts/master/shell/unraid/system/no_ransom/no_ransom.sh' && chmod +x '/tmp/no_ransom.sh' Then to view the help simply issue:- /tmp/no_ransom.sh Disclaimer:- Whilst i have done extensive tests and runs on my own system with no ill effects i do NOT recommend you run this script across all of your media until you are fully satisfied that it is working as intended (try a small test share), i am in no way responsible for any data loss due to the use of this script.

  9. Hello Limetech, Talking in the unoffical discord we noticed when you add a new container and click apply it runs a docker run however when you edit a stopped container it does a docker create Now this method is okay however some people would like the option to not have a container to start on creation. Essentially the feature request is to add a tickbox called something like "Start container on creation/edit" on a container creation and edit page. By default this would be ticked so that it does not affect the current usage of the containers and does not cause any confusion. Potentially in addition an option within the Docker settings page could be added to change how the tickbox works by default. Hopefully this makes sense.

  10. Hello Fellow Unraiders & future Unraid peps, Back in April when the COVID pandemic started, and staying home more often was mandatory, i decided that after all the years of dreaming of having my own server rig, the time had come... So where do you start... google... and you find words like OpenMediaVault, FreeNas, Unraid... Luckily i had a VERY old computer from work to just test all the different software... and i did... unfortunately i started with Freenas...then OMV, then Amahi... honestly at this point i already thought i had stepped into too deep water... i mean FreeNas... you basically need to purchase your entire array of disks at the beginning & be a networking ACE... BUT luckily i didnt give up and i came across Unraid... and frankly... i came across this blog and all you great people in here... Unraid was a breath of fresh air... I mean i'm no PRO network guy but I'm also not an amateur... i have done many gaming rig builds.... but Unraid was perfect... simple but soooo powerful... the software grows as you grow... you want 1 disk nas and thats it... unraid... 2 weeks later want a media server... no problem... want 10 more disks... want a VM... want an integrated server modem...unraid... BUT, the real reason i am on here is both to thank Unraid, the community, guys like spaceinvader... all such a big help... BUT BUT... there were some things i wish i knew from the beginning... My first build. Now i dont want to say money was or wasnt an issue, but if stuff can be bought second hand... then thats the way i go... Today my build is: ASRock mobo C236M WS (NEW-newegg) (i really wanted the 6th/7th Gen CPU/mobo because it was the last generation where XEON mobo could be used by the i3-i7 CPU's.... and why do you ask? You can use a server/workstation grade Mobo with a easy to find second hand 6th/7th gen CPU... Intel i7-6700 CPU (Second Hand) (8000 passmark score) 2 x 16 GB RAM (32GB) (Second Hand) 6 x Ironwolf NAS 6TB drives (new-whereever it was cheapest) (1 is Parity) - obviously i started with just two drives Nvidia Quadro P2000 GPU (Second Hand) (only purpose is transcoding for Plex) - (i bought the i7 + 32gb ram + p2000 GPU for 300 USD from the yellow pages - some autocad guy sold it too cheap - great find) LSI card for 8 more SATA connections ((Second Hand) - ebay) (Guys get these from Ebay and just write "freenas LSI" this way they are ready to be used in unraid... dont ask if you dont get it with the preflashed version.... i used about a week on this) 4 x SSD Samsung 860EVO 500GB in RAID10 for CACHE (Second Hand - refurbished)) (total 1 TB)- Now i know many of you will ask...why...WHY .... after doing a LOTTTT of research on this topic... --1 SSD Cache in is great... but if you have data on it then its always at risk in case it is lost/damage/corruption... --2 SSD Cache in RAID0 is AMAZING... you get the full space of both disks with double speed (kind off)... read up on it... its hard to explain... but its faster... BUT you still have the issue its not protected... --2 SSD Cache in RAID1 is perfect then? - you data is protected... but... you loose the speed benefit... --4 SSD Cahce in Raid10 - best of both worlds (nearly) - but again...why The cache is there to (among other things) to store most recent DATA... so lets say a new episode of some legally downloaded TV show... If you share that library over plex... the file will most likely be used the most in the first few days/weeks... meaning you dont need to have your disks in use/spin up.. And why 1TB - well then i dont need to scheduled a mover more than once per month... (and for that entire month... its protected) Case GAMEMAX with 8 HDD Bays and 3 x 5.25 ( this was actually my second case, i started with the Fractal Design Node 304... but realized after 2 months it was too small.... first big costly mistake i made..) but the Gamemax with 8 HHD and 3x 5.25 ( i used a HDD cage and got 4 more HDD bays out of it) its great... Also its the only case i found with a Push/pull fan system for the HDD's (why? because its better, cooler; metaphorically and actually, and quieter) Samsung 32GB flash for Unraid boot - Guys... buy a good one (another mistake i made) (spaceinvader to the rescue again,again..again https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjkaidlZmgs Well...here it is: to save some space i bought 2 x 2 SSD PCI Brakets (its just a braket... doesnt connect to mobo) - bought from aliexpress) The Fan there is to give the SSD and GPU some more air... i lowered the SSD's from 50C+ to 35C with just 300RPM fan... The push pull fan system is great because i spit them in zones Parity + disk 1 + disk 2 - are controlled by fan 1 (push) and fan 2 (pull) and only read these disk temps and disk 3,4,5,6 in zone 2. 4 SSD cache in zone 3 I also bought a 4 HDD cage for my 5.25 slot but they are empty... i am so tired of opening my case and scared to screw something up every time i need a new disk... this way the next 4 disks just need to be popped in So my 5 cents of free advice... Everyone says plan ahead... what do you need the server for.?.. how much load?... passmark!...transcodes!...VM's!... But honestly if you were in the same situation like me and building your first server... you have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what you want... because you haven't discovered all the possibilities yet of an unraid server. I though i needed a small media server to play some media on... 8 months later: I have a fully automated Media server (that auto downloads the latest legal content), a website, proxy server, PFsense modem, a Teamspeak server (to game chat), i am currently working on a satellite dish on my roof and trying to integrate it to Emby or plex... My friends were tired of paying for dropbox so they pitched in an bought another 6TB drive where i host a dropbox solution for them now (NEXTCLOUD).... So the advice... unraid is the way to go if you want to start small and simple... if you want to grow its so simple... if you want to make it more complex... there is so much help from everyone... and dont worry, just start and enjoy every little success and advance you get. This was my first build in April 2020 and i had to replace the Case and mobo (same ASROCK MBO just the ATX version and not the ITX) within 3 months Its been a HELL of a pleasure (and a bit of pain) going though this experience... learning something new almost everyday... Thanks guys and if you have ANY questions please ask (remember the stupid questions can very often help you the most) A fellow.

  17. You are doing nothing worng but the container does, please delete one more time the container and also the directory for AssetoCorsa in your appdata directory and redownload it from the CA App. I've now updated the container, one download points to the wrong place... Sorry for that and thank you that you brought that up.

  18. I also can confirm, that the latest vendor-reset for the audio fixed the problem with my Powercolor 5700 XT. It never reseted properly after an OS shutdown, or VM stop via UNRAID. NOW EVERYTHING WORKS LIKE A CHARM as it is supposed to be. Finally I will be a happy 5700 XT user. So kudos to @ajmadsen @gnif from github and also to @ICH777 for making it easy to bring all stuff to the UNRAID stick with use of the kernel helper docker!

  20. so I tried some settings on my MSI B460 Torpedo motherboard which looks like fixed the issue i have tried multiple reboots from webUI and unraid is starting up correctly without going to BIOS. 1. click settings 2 Access Advanced 3 Power Mgmt Setup 4. DTM - I changed it to Enabled 5 Save changes and reboot this did the trick for me. Why this approach work I don't know may be someone can throw some light on it

  21. To change any assignments you have to New Config. New Config, unassign parity2, assign all other disks as you wish, but make sure all data disks you had before are assigned with none removed and none added. Parity1 will be valid, so check the parity is valid box and start the array. Then, stop the array, assign parity2, start the array to begin rebuild of parity2.

  23. A few applications gameservers need the physical path where the application and the files for the application are and not the "virtual" path. For example TeamFortress2 and GarrysMod are the same and needs the path to the physical location. That's why I put always the '/mnt/cache' path in my templates to the gamefiles and the '/mnt/user' path for SteamCMD because SteamCMD doesn't need the physical path to the files because it only downloads the files or checks for updates. Even if you install the container you see that the CA App actually fills depending if you own a cache drive or not the physical path to your appdata directory: If you are using a UnassignedDevices disk the path is for example '/mnt/disks/DISKNAME/SHARENAME' or if it's located on the array then the path has to be '/mnt/disk2/SHARENAME' (the array path is dependent on the disk where the files are but keep in mind that if someone uses it on the array the files can't be split over multiple disks!) Also some other Containers are in the CA App that needs also the physical path that are not from me, this is completely application dependent. Hope that makes sense to you.

  24. I did this by intention because there are two interfaces that are more or less "mods", I enabled Assetto-Server-Manager by default, this was done by accident, will change this in the template... Most people prefer Stacker over Assetto-Server-Manager.

  39. I had typed and re-read and re-typed what I said below because I wanted to make sure I said what I meant. I’d like to 100% agree with you on this, but I can’t completely, but I do to a point. You have to remember unRAID is partially open source which allows the community to add on to it. Those addons make unRAID very appealing and more popular than most mass storage options and at one time addons were mostly considered hacks. @limetech has spent 1000’s of hours improving security, improving the interface and implementing many many requests alongside what the community has done. Drivers, new kernels, VM, Docker support and many many other things have been implemented to support all of our needs and for more flexibility for add ons. I’ve heard Tom say time and time again. “User data protection is foremost the most important thing.” Tom put out a really Heartfelt apology and you can tell he really meant it. Don’t believe me try PM him sometime he’s one of the most generous guys I’ve ever chatted with. When I use the word Community I mean everybody from Tom to the newest member who just joined I hope everybody else thinks the same. I like to think of it like this. 4people in the car. 1 Driver making sure we arrive safe. 2 Navigator edging the driver to a destination 3 Backseat passenger are we there yet? 4 I want! I want! I want! All of us fit in at least one many of those seats. As long as we are all willing to ride in the car together there is no where we can’t take unRAID. Anybody have a School Bus handy? 😃

  41. Hi I struggled like mad to find those files on there site it’s not the best I have no idea where they have that one is hiding Yep think I have to open my eye it’s been a long night but where do you install it in root terminal of unraid as you can’t bash into any of the containers as they are can’t spin up. AND BREATH I've sorted it thanks found this! reverse proxy doesn't seem to work with Sonnar so i can route it through the container anymore need to figure out how to get that working again and if i can find a bitcoin wallet that doesn't charge a fee to spend and that i can put say a £5 a month (Anyone Offer Help on the bitcoin front?) info below has downloads working thanks to the person that made this template. Mullvad VPN for Unraid 0) Go to https://mullvad.net/en/download/#linux <-- Latest Link when I made this guide or just go to your mullvad account page 1) Download your mullvad VPN files by clicking "GenerateOpenVPN configuration files" . Make sure to keep "Use IP addresses" and "Connect via our bridges" left unchecked 2) Unzip the downloaded file. 3) Move all four files (you should have four) to appdata/deluge/openvpn 3a) change the file extension of mullvad_<whatever region you selected>.conf to mullvad_<whatever region you selected>.ovpn 3b) Open mullvad_<whatever region you selected>.ovpn with a text editor and add the following lines to the bottom: pull-filter ignore "route-ipv6" pull-filter ignore "ifconfig-ipv6" 3c) save the file. 4) In your deluge container, edit the following settings: 4a) Key 1 (VPN_ENABLED) should be set to "yes" 4b) Key 2 (VPN_USER) should be your Mullvad account number; a 16 digit number you received when you set up your Mullvad account which also can be found in mullvad_userpass.txt. 4b+)Do not include the "m" as shown in the .txt file, just the 16 digit account number. 4c) Key 3 (VPN_PASS) same account number as Key 2, no "m". 4d) Key 4 (VPN_PROV) set to "custom" 4e) Key 6 (STRICT_PORT_FORWARD) set to "yes" 4f) Key 8 (LAN_NETWORK) put the first 3 numbers of your routers IP (most likely 192.168.1) followed by .0/24 (example "192.168.1.0/24") 5) Apply and restart deluge For faster Downloads, Mullvad supports port forwarding. This can be done by: 6) Go to the mullvad.net homepage, and under your account, you'll see "Manage Ports and Wireguard keys" 6a) It was this link when I created the guide: https://mullvad.net/en/account/ports/ 7) Click "add port" and then copy the port that it spits out. Go to the deluge UI and under preferences / network, change "Incoming Port" to: 8a) Uncheck "Use Random Port" and put in the port you copied. 9) You're done

  44. Just had a notice that there was a new version of Nextcloud v 18.0.4. Successfully upgraded utilising the Nextcloud web gui updater. Had one hitch that I thought I would share. The upgrade steps check that the right files are in the appropriate dir before upgrading and won't proceed if there are unexpected files found. Fine for most right? OSX: Hold my beer!! As I had previously browsed those folders, you guessed it, .DS_Store files were present and this stopped the updater from proceeding. In fact the exact error was: "Check for expected files // The following extra files have been found // .DS_Store" You cant set Nextcloud to ignore these files so i had to manually get rid of them. Didn't want to mess around with finder and turning on show hidden files, so did this: root@unraid:~# cd /mnt/user/appdata/nextcloud/ root@unraid:/mnt/user/appdata/nextcloud# find -name ".DS*" ./www/.DS_Store root@unraid:/mnt/user/appdata/nextcloud# cd www/ root@unraid:/mnt/user/appdata/nextcloud/www# rm .DS_Store root@unraid:/mnt/user/appdata/nextcloud/www# I was able to click try again in the Nextcloud updater web gui and now he file had gone, it proceeded on and completed without an issue.

  45. Request to have the current 30 data drive (28+2) limit increased. My specific application is a media server and with the advent of 4K videos, the need for storage has almost tripled per video. I've hit the maximum 30 drives and as I replace my smaller 4TB and 6TB models with 8 or 10TB, I cannot reutilize those 4TBs within the same data drive pool; cache drives server no real purpose for me on this server. Speaking for myself, I am willing to pay an upgrade or higher tier license fee for the ability to go beyond 30 data drives.
