  1. Hey all, just wanted to show my appreciation for this product and the amount of support and guides out there (especially the content from Ed/Spaceinvader One, goddamn!). I recently picked-up a free PowerEdge R520 which was decommissioned at work. Had wanted to do either Proxmox or ESXi but figured I'd check-out unRAID after hearing so much about it (thanks LTT). I currently run a basic TrueNAS box which hosts Plex and Transmission plus shares etc. so was somewhat limited as far as ease for setting up RancherOS (or an Ubuntu VM) and playing with Docker. I love that unRAID makes Docker and VMs so easy for simpletons like me. I've already setup a Mojave VM using Spaceinvader One's guide (which has since replaced a Hackintosh so that hardware has gone to my housemate who's quite happy with an upgrade), Windows 11 VM to test out & a Windows 10 VM for work which I was able to make compliant by setting up swTPM. Still waiting on my second processor and heatsink but the box runs like a dream and is very quick after setting up a cache SSD and dedicated virtual disk SSD for the VMs. It was easy enough to flash the Dell PERC and also found details on setting fan speed via IPMI! Was great to see just how much info is out there and how large the community is, goes to show just how good the product is. I'm only 5 days into the trial period but will be slamming that cash down shortly. Cheers, JB.

  2. Community comes to the rescue! add blake3 support https://github.com/bergware/dynamix/pull/42 speed up bash by reduce expensive calls https://github.com/bergware/dynamix/pull/43 use check list to speed up check button https://github.com/bergware/dynamix/pull/44 avoid indexing of filesystem while watching progress https://github.com/bergware/dynamix/pull/45 avoid terminal wrap during progress https://github.com/bergware/dynamix/pull/46 monitor verifications and all manual bunker calls https://github.com/bergware/dynamix/pull/47 fix truncated file names if key is broken https://github.com/bergware/dynamix/pull/48 This weekend some or all of my pull requests get tested and some time later released I did these updates to speed up my process because the old tool can't handle small files: Old version: Average speed: 62 MB/s new Version: Average speed: 167 MB/s

  3. I've recently learned that SnapRAID is a solution that can recover from bit-rot in addition to any other scenario. It has been interesting to see people running it hourly with OpenMediaVault + MergerFS to accomplish very similar goals to Unraid. I have to say, I really like Unraid. The polish is great and the other functionality for VMs + containers like Docker are really icing on the cake... Can we run SnapRAID on top of Unraid to accomplish an anti-bit-rot regiment? I'm not going to get into a debate of whether or not bit-rot happens or if it's critical or anything like that. I have enough evidence from engineers in the industry to convince me that if I had unlimited money and resources I'd just go with with raidz3 on TrueNAS SCALE and be done with this entirely, but I don't and I'm here and I'd really like to see if I can make this work. Has anyone successfully done this? Here's a reference document by the way doing the OMV + SnapRAID + MergerFS: https://www.michaelxander.com/diy-nas/ and another from archive.org on a down site: https://web.archive.org/web/20210308170014/https://www.networkshinobi.com/snapraid-and-mergerfs-on-openmediavault/

  4. I attempted to move data drive 2 to parity slot 2, and now i have an error. Please refer to attached screenshot. please advise on how to eliminate data disk 2 from the array.

  5. I did add Disk status check icons to fix the confusing presentation issue of our disk status. Maybe the Disk Status was broken, there was a regex which was unable to delete the build status if build was not the first entry. It scans only one disk at a time and take a while if you have many files. Disk 3 gets skipped because it has work to do. I thought about parallel execution, but rejected the Idea because it would hurt the array performance, so we keep it sequential. Add Disk status refresh icon https://github.com/bergware/dynamix/pull/52

  6. Data disks don't contain parity data, only the parity disk has parity. That 14GB is filesystem overhead from formatting the disk as XFS (or whatever you used). And all that format information is now included by parity, so parity must be rebuilt if you remove that disk. Yes, New Config takes all assigned disks just as they are with all their data, then (optionally and by default) rebuilds parity. Preserve All. That will keep all the assignments just as they are as a starting point for making changes. It will then take you to a page without the array started to allow you to make any changes needed. Then, starting the array will rebuild parity. Don't check the Parity Valid box because it isn't without that other disk you accidentally added so you must let it rebuild parity. Make very sure the disk assigned as parity is correct. You don't want to overwrite a data disk with parity.

  7. Yes. Simply bind the RTX3080 to VFIO at your System Devices and then reboot. After you did that the plugin won't see your RTX3080 and it is reserved for exclusive use in VMs.

  8. From what I see in the logs it seems to me that something is wrong with the Java version or better speaking it's the wrong version for this Forge version. Btw, I hate Forge, it runs for a few days/hours and randomly it stops for no reason and won't start up again... You can try to change the Java version to something like jre8 "basicjre" in the Advanced Settings in the template: Steps to perform when changing the Java version: Stop the container Delete the "runtime" folder from the Minecraft directory Change the Java version and start the container again EDIT: Or eventually try "jre11", Java 16 is needed for the vanilla Minecraft servers.

  9. Thats definitely an option, but I think I will just remove the plugin. Thanks for the reply.

  10. Hi, I made the mistake of buying a 3060ti Gainward ghost card because it was the only one in stock and it had many rgb lights, i've managed via the command nvidia-smi -pm 1 to get the card to sleep at pstate 8, but it still draws 19watts in this mode. Does anyone else have a 3060ti or a 3series card with pstate 8 and no rgb lights? My guess is that these rgbs are at least drawing 10 watts of power, could that be possible? I have no idea how much leds usually draw but looking at some other people who have nvidia cards in the same power state they have around 6-10 watts draw and not 19. Follow up question, is there a way to disable the led lights via the nvidia driver? My guess is no because this i third party vendor card... i guess the only way to find out how much power these leds actually draw is to open the card up and find the power source to the led lights but that might be a gamble. EDIT: Ended up opening the box up again and removing the rgb power header cable which luckily was pretty straight forward with this card, voila 9w!

  12. That’s where you’re downloads folder is. Not useful for Sonarr and Radarr functionality, but useful if you want to manually trigger downloads via Jackett

  13. I didn’t realize Cloudflare’s proxy was live on my subdomains’ dns entries. That, as well as HSYS being disabled. Commenting a line in my ngix config file, as well as switching my subdomains from proxy to dns-only solved the problem for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. Yes! Just got a Dell XPS 8940 with that CPU. And luckily, I did not need to do any modifications. Just install Intel GPU TOP from the Community Apps and reboot. Using it on Plex and Handbrake. I heard issues with HDR videos but I am unable to test that. (No HDR Movies 😅 YET) ich777, the developer of the Intel GPU TOP plugin said it is a Plex issue and they are the ones that need to fix that. Nothing to do with Unraid or hardware.

  16. may show your plex docker run command, its pretty senseless if the igpu is not available in plex but used by it ... either device, path, priviledged, something ...

  18. so qbittorrent is special, its the only time you need to change the container port and the host port, so change that to 8086:8086 and you should be set.

  19. Not a bug, more an issue about presentation. Let me describe what is happening it shows disk1 as a circle, not green checkmark, even though it has just finished the build, and is up-to-date Problem is "just finished" the search for untagged files find command is only executed every 2 minutes this find is very expensive, so the 2 minutes repeat is already to much for my taste it is only executed every 2 minutes if you are looking at the page If you look at the page everything will go slower because the search for new files does slow down spinning disks, I did fix that problem: avoid indexing of filesystem while watching progress https://github.com/bergware/dynamix/pull/45 it shows disks 4, 5, 9 and 10 with a green checkmark, even though the builds are clearly still running and aren't finished maybe the find command did not finish because your build process is slowing the find command down to much it shows disks 7, 12, 17, 18, 19, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27 and 28 with a green checkmark, even though the build process has never been run on these disk... Depending on how many files you have there, the check is maybe still running Does this feature need to be improved?

  20. As said above if the device in the template '/dev/dri' doesn't exist it shouldn't be able to use it anyways because it simply can't see it. But of course uninstall the Intel-GPU-TOP, remove the /boot/config/modprobe.d/i915.conf file and reboot. Then the iGPU isn't activated and the container or unRAID won't be able to use it for hardware acceleration things.

  21. Hope all are well, Just wanted to post an update on my situation. It was a bad wifi/bluetooth adapter causing my log files to fill up. I ended up taking the motherboard apart and replacing the wireless card and put everything back together and all looks fine right now. Fingers crossed. Hahahahaha. Thank you for the help.

  24. Hi, Thanks so much for getting back to me. I can't upgrade to 6.9.2 because of a bug that affects my server so I'm stuck on 6.8.3 until limetech fixes it. I did upgrade runc manually and now I see the Intellij GUI on VNC.

  25. ...regarding VLANS: do not confuse L2-HW-Offloading (VLAN filtering/switching, which is a thing all CRS3xx models can do already with ROSv6 in wire speed) with L3-HW-Offloading. This will basically turn the device into an IP (hence L3) Router (which is what ROS can do in software with v6, but L3-HW offloading will push that to almost wirespeed as well. CRS3xx models have a switch chip and a small CPU. L3-Hardware offloading will enable ROS to do these things on the Switch-Chip, like with L2 and not on the smaller CPU anymore). Not all L3 traffic, but for some features. L3-HW offloading for VLANs will be inter-VLAN communication/IP-routing, hence. SFP+ are 10G, SFP (non-plus) are 1G. SR means single mode fiber, which is more robust for a reliable connection than multimode fiber (MM), which is a little cheaper than SR. But actually both will do...just don*t mix the modes as they are not interchangeable/compatible. If you want to utilize existing copper/CAT cabling, you'll need 10G-T (SFP+ RJ45) transceivers....these are more expensive and use a lot more energy (and hence get really, really *hot*). It is recommended to only use these in every second port only, especially on devices with passive cooling. The MT S-RJ10 is one...I use a pair over 18m of cat5e wiring (CRS326 to CSS610 as an uplink between ground and first floor) and have a stable 10G connection without a single drop for over a year now.

  26. I found a possible issue, something can get wrong during parsing the response from getting the extended file attributes. I can fix it if anybody of you is still around, you just need to execute the following commands to create something which can be manually checked: path=/mnt/disk1 hash=blake2 find "$path" -type f -name "*" -exec getfattr -n user.$hash --absolute-names "{}" 2>/dev/null 1>/tmp/debugfiles_raw.txt + sed -n "/^$/d;s/^# file: //;h;n;s/^user.$hash=\"//;s/\"$//;G;s/\n/ \*/;p" /tmp/debugfiles_raw.txt 1>/tmp/debugfiles_sed.txt In /tmp/debugfiles_sed.txt you will find your truncated line or an empty line or a line where the key is there but no file name after the key. I would like to see your result to fix it. I was unable to construct a broken file to get this to fail. Maybe there is an unexpected response from getfattr on stdout.

  27. i see docker network is on the same range as your lan network, this will not work, im assuming you have it set to custom bridge or macvlan, switch it back to network type 'bridge'

  28. Don't forget to replace all the cables, even if they seem compatible with the new PSU, they may be wired differently... or simply one of them might have been a contributing factor to the PSU failure

  30. It has been a long time hasn't it... I do plan to continue and have been working on some of the oldest requests! But the truth of the matter is that working from home for over a year now has put a bit of a damper on me. Sitting alone in front of the computer all day and then continue in the evening has been a bit of a tough sell for me. The cases are coming, just not very fast

  31. Does anyone have an idiot's guide to setting up syncthing on unraid? I'm hoping to also set it up on my android phone to auto-transfer pictures, but I'm not even really sure how to do any of the settings/setup. I have the binhex syncthing docker installed on unraid, and also the app installed on my phone, but I'm not sure how to go from there. In an ideal scenario, it would download via wifi when I launch the app if a) there are new pictures on the phone (only need 1 way), and 2) it's on my home wifi ssid. Second best would be if it does it at a specific time, but because of battery draw I'd prefer to not have it always searching for the ssid. Any thoughts/suggestions/places to go to learn? Thanks!

  33. Sorry - our posts crossed. @johnnie.black I love your confidence - have you had any confirmation that they've seen it? They're usually pretty good at saying 'Hey we've seen it' I thought, but this one is stunningly quiet. If I had the workload they did, I'd definitely be using the flags of minor / major to filter through everything. That's just my 2c though - (born from 28 years in IT though!)..
