  1. A google search led me to this thread. Not to be too much of a smart Alek, but how is this still a thing? I pulled a USB device from my system (because my Home Assistant OS just can't seem to make my Zigbee dongle work). So, simply reinserting it and now the VM launches again. Someone needs to fix this. ๐Ÿ™‚
  2. THANK YOU! Sure enough, there it is! I think the flash drive went bad - I've got a new one. I really appreciate this!
  3. Two things: One, I'm getting a UPS for my server. ๐Ÿ™‚ Two, my server will no longer boot (stuck at the very second line of the boot process). I have signed up for the cloud backup built in to the OS now. Question is, how to I access it to use it for a restore? Thanks all!
  4. OK - GTX1060 arrived and installed. For some reason, I still don't get the VCN Remote option when the 1060 is passed through (and the 1030) still won't pass through) but I CAN get to it through Splashtop. Window runs SO SO SO slow. So slow I haven't had the patience to get in and download the latest drivers for the video card. So I guess I'm making progress. ๐Ÿ™‚
  5. Is there a preferred way to simply manipulate data on the shares/drives directly? For example, do something like what "SyncToy" used to do to look at say, the data in a mounted NTFS drive, and to a file copy/sync to a share?
  6. Got it installed! I see the new tab on the Main screen. This should do what I want! Any reason to doubt it's reliability? Thanks!
  7. In my old server (Windows 10) I have an SSD that is specifically for the metadata for PLEX. It's several hundred gigabytes (of VERY tiny files, as you may know). Is it at ALL possible to MOUNT an NTFS drive in unRAID? Even if just to transfer the data internally (instead of over the network, as I'm doing with the rest of my TBs of data) from one server to another, as I assume having unRAID LIVE with an NTFS drive would not be great. Ultimately, I'd like to have this data end up back on this SSD drive as it's primary home, but as part of the array (in that it's duplicated). Of all the data I'm moving to the new unRAID server, this folder of PLEX metadata makes me the most nervous (It's got TONS of custom data and user watch data and the like, and given the millions of tiny files, I've had trouble copying this stuff before). Would making a ZIP file first work? Is there a ZIP equivalent on unRAID?
  8. I'm in the VM, back to VNC drivers. As SOON as the VM starts, the fans go crazy in my box for a good couple of minutes, then settle down as long as I don't do much with the system. What I *did* notice is that now when I change the settings so I can boot into the VM, I get the Windows troubleshooting screens. That tells me that its WINDOWS that's crashing through the boot process, not the VM/container itself. Am I close on that? I dl'd Splashtop streamer and client (seems like a good things to have around anyway!) and will see where that gets me.
  9. Thanks for the encouragement! I'm learning fast! ๐Ÿ™‚ What makes me think the VM is freezing is that the VNC Remote option doesn't appear on the VM menu when I switch from the VNC graphics to the GT1030. I feel like I've at least gotten things to where it no longer affects the server itself when I try to get the VM running with the 1030. It *does* start up properly w/o the 1030 passed through, but the machine is pretty much useless as it is SO obvious that it's struggling w/o proper graphics hardware (Steam won't even LAUNCH Portal 2, gives an error directly referring to inadequate graphics hardware). So, in the meantime, I'm slowly removing (from DrivePool and physically) drives from the old server, to get ready to transfer about 30TB of data to the new server. I've upgraded my Parity drive to 6TB (that's parity operation is currently running), and getting as many other things going as possible. Can you tell that on Monday I'll be back to work and trying to get this as far along as possible!? LOL I appreciate the help! I'm having a lot of fun with this! Though my wife is slightly annoyed with my focus on this project! Have a great day all!
  10. I did a BIOD upgrade. The log file is different now: Doesn't seem to "crash" everything, but still locks up. Ideas? 11. I've tried EVERYTHING above. ROM, Q35, new VM, booting server in Legacy, etc. I think the only thing I haven't looked at is the XML whether the card is being passed through to the same slot - but from what I've read, that would just cause errors in Windows, not an INSTANT fail. So, I'm going to post the most recent Log, and the VM XML in hopes that those might help someone with a better eye toward this than I have yet? (If it matters, I have a GeForce 1060 on the way (turns out the 1030 I have won't support the Transcoding I need from PLEX!)
  12. It doesn't seem to. Maybe these are just too old? ๐Ÿ˜ž
  13. So I'm pausing on the graphics card passthrough issue and concentrating on getting the base server up and running. A crucial part of this setup is the number of drives. I have 2 T5RM external enclosures connected to eSATA cards. I pulled one of the cards in and hooked up one of the enclosures with a couple of disks in it. Nothing. Like it's not even there. I know there's no such thing as drivers in this situation. Where do I start? What do I look for? I've already spent so much $ (more than I intended) on this I really don't want to have to buy new eSATA cards as well! (At least unless I KNOW they will work!) Where do I start? THANK YOU!
  14. Yep, they pointed me to the "overview" and that explained it pretty well! Now just trying to get this passthrough to work. Found another very old PCIe graphics card as I read somewhere that having two GPUs can help, but all that does it freeze the thing up as well. I'll get there! You guys are awesome!
  15. Actually - I do have ONE more question. I found another 256MB PCIe graphics card in my box of parts. Is there any possibility that this will be useful in getting my new card to pass through easier?
