  1. Here are some screenshots that I consider to be interesting for this: As you can see, there is data in the UPS that either directly tells you how much the consumption is, or there are parameters from which you can calculate it yourself (amps, voltage). How to extract them is beyond me.
  2. Here's a screenshot, do you need anything else from the webif?
  3. Hi Simon, Yes i can but when i open it with cat or nano it's basicly just jibberish with some log info, do i need to use another application to get it rightly formated?
  4. Hi, It would be great to see how much power the Unraid server has consumed monthly/weekly/daily, the information can probably quiet easily be extracted from the APC webintegration. The information could then be parsed to the dashboard.
  5. The HXi is only available in 1000w+ which is way overkill for my server both pricewise and TDP, i'm gonna keep an eye out if they go on sale though.
  6. I would like this feature in my Unraid server because that's pretty much the only thing missing "hw stat" wise, however Corsair seems to have discontinued the ICUE implementation in their newer PSUs which sucks and I've scoured the internet for old HXi and RMi models but to no success .
  7. I would like to make a feature request. I've been running kodi for 20 years (xbmc prior) and i've been looking for a replacement for the last 5 or 6 years due to several reasons. However, the only thing that kept me from changing is the rar suppprt. My feature request thereby is to include rar2fs as an option directly in the Jellyfin docker container. Or is there another way to go about this?
  8. Thanks guys, i was a bit hesitant because some of the release notes didn't include the upgrade procedure.
  9. I've spent all morning reading the changelog from 6.8 onwards How about plugins? I noticed that in 6.11.3 plugin compatibility was introduced together with the update assistant. Should i upgrade all the plugins before upgrading the OS?
  10. Hi all, I haven't touched my Unraid server since i installed it 3 years ago (1100 days uptime) and it's been rock solid, however I'm planning to do some minor hardware upgrades and thought i might aswell upgrade the OS since it's down. Is it allright to go from 6.8.3 straight to 6.12.3 or is it advised to upgrade in increments? Also, is it good practice to change the usb drive to a new one since the old one has been running for 3 years straight and might be on it's last leg (backup old, restore to new)?
  11. Hi, i noticed the other day that i didn't get any notifications when my monthly parity check started/ended. After some troubleshooting i came to the conclusion that it's because google stopped providing the "app password" feature, is this the case? And if so, what other email provider is working with unraid?
  12. Thanks! Then i'll go ahead and enable it I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't cause any problems or screw with my system when enabling it "on the fly". Is that plugin usable if my drives are up and running 24/7?
  13. Hi Guys. I recently started to move alot of data to and from my unraid array and noticed that the speed was rather slow, i then realized i'd never enabled the "reconstruct write" feature under "disk settings". Can i enable this feature while the array is running without any problems? I would prefer not to restart the server.
  14. Allright, seems to be working now, thanks I wasnt sure since the description didn't fit.
  15. Allright so the moving is done however i ofcourse get permission errors while trying to move stuff around on my windows client. I have nobody / users as owner on everything. "-rwxr--r-- 1 nobody users" How do i correct this so i can edit from Windows? chmod -R 777 seems abit harsh, what's the procedure here? I noticed there is a "New Permissions" under Tools, however the description of this doesn't seem to fit my situation since i dont come from an AD enviroment nor did i upgrade the unraid dist from 5.0.
  16. Allright, i didn't think it had to because there were no data on the drives. Did i screw anything else up by having to do a new config or is everything as before except with the new drives? It asked me to type in the passphrase twice like on the intial setup and that got my heart pumping but the cachedrives were okey it seems
  17. Hi guys So i bought some new drives and did a preclear on all drives, then i proceeded to add them to an array with no parity drives present. I was suppose to add 2 of the new drives as parity but i didnt, i added them all as data drives. I then did a new config and added the drives like i was suppose to from the start and now it wants to do a parity sync, is this normal behaviour? Theres no data on the array, only the cache pool. Would it want to parity sync even if i did it the right way from the start? As theres no data on the drives in the array.
  18. Thanks for clearing things up, greatly appreciated. I did a preclear because of your reasons 1 and 2, and although it takes ages to finnish i feel its worth it in the end. I guess the fuss about preclear is because unraid already does a zeroing when adding drives to the array?
  19. I just got a couple of new drives and started to preclear them. Then i read in a thread from 2018 that its not longer necessary? But in this thread it sems alot of people are still using it? What has happened since 2018? Whats the current state of the preclear tool?
  20. The Ubuntu is running on hw raid 6. What happens with the permissions if i use my method? Will everything thats been moved have to be changed permission-wise?
  21. Hi guys, i'm about to migrate from Ubuntu to a new Unraid build and a couple of terabytes of data will have to be copied. In other words, i have bought and built a whole new Unraid server with new drives etc. This is my ide. Mount unraid on the ubuntu server and move with the "screen" application on the ubuntu server. But are there other options? What is the best practice to follow when moving large amount of data?
