  1. All seems to be working great, just re-downloading images now. Thanks! I wasn't 100% sure of the update order but i did the following. Deleted docker plg from plugins. Updated unraid to beta8 & reboot Ran btrfs subvolume delete Started docker and added new img path Ran CP for existing template move Deleted -boot/config/plugins/dockerMan.plg - /Docker-startup.plg - /dockerMan-2014.08.28.tar.gz
  2. Check your Date / Time on your unraid box.
  3. Thanks Jonp.. how do i push the needle! Performance for plex in docker is the same with or without xen boot. I'm transcoding a 15gb mkv which for the same movie in a win8.1 xen VM would run at 24x speed. Now in docker it is running at x6 CPU is working enough... Memory is cached and not being used - how does one allocate more memory to a container? The docker container sits on an SSD could it be Disk I/O? If its memory is there a way to pass "/tmp/ from unraid RAM directory to plex and allow it to transcode in Unraid's RAM? Cheers Will
  4. I've booted without XEN this time. Not sure what is going on, maybe its memory? A lot used but not for plex. It doesn't seem CPU related. Any ideas needo?
  5. I typically assign 4 vpcu's to my plex server in XEN, Dom0 would be 8 wouldn't it? or do i need to assign it more in syslinux.cfg? my syslinux is default at present and cant check from work.
  6. Firstly great work from all the docker nuts out there i'm starting to get into it and hopefully will start to contribute something one day! Performance is a BIG thing for me. I'm using needo's plexpass container and i am not happy with performance. Transcoding for cloud sync and device syncing would typically run at 24x in my XEN vm, now its at 8x - 9x using docker. Do I need to edit syslinux to give Dom-0 more cpu's? I've got 4 core (8 threads) and 16gb ram.
  7. When dockers creates its folder on my cache drive it does not set it to a Cache only share which meant when the mover script ran it copied the data to my array. Would this be expected behaviour ?
  8. That's basically exactly what I did for Plex Did your plex pick up the media in that folder? During setup i can not get past the root folder level and plex will not scan media in any of the folder i mount /mnt/user/Movies
  9. I have two SSD's in my system. A 180gb with 1 VM and a is 120gb with 2 vm's. I used the following command to stripe sdb & sdc, how would I then choose the 300gb combined Raid0 array as my cache disk? # Stripe the data without mirroring mkfs.btrfs -d raid0 /dev/sdb /dev/sdc
  10. Might be an openSSL issue, I've had it a few times with different plugins wanting different versions and stalling. Otherwise the plugins have timeouts built into them from memory i had booted many times without a net connection without issue. Your logs would clearly show the issue. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=21260.msg283413;topicseen#msg283413
  11. It seems your install location of all 3 apps is in RAM and doesn't persist after reboot. Are you using influencers plugins? If so it will tell you that the install location won't exist after reboot and the install DIR should be like /mnt/disk1/apps/sickbeard (if you don't have a cache drive). If you are not using influencers plugins I suggest you do use them. Unless i don't understand what you mean by "from source" all these apps have the ability to check for updates. HTH Will
  12. I currently use AFP for Time Machine with a Cache disk. When either of my macs do a backup it causes my parity drive and a data drive to spin up. I can see the backup spindle created on the cache disk. My Time Machine share settings are set to Cache - Yes If i disable AFP the my Parity only spins up with mover is running. Is anyone else seeing this behaviour?
  13. Could there be an item that shows free space on cache disk and allows you to press a button to invoke the mover? That is pretty much all i ever check my Unraid server for. Cheers W
  14. When plugged into the onboard LSI controller, no red drives are detected.
  15. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=28484.0 Osx did some crazy things and kept crashing the mover script. I went through the above instructions again and found some attributes that needed fixing. Might be worth a shot.
  16. I have 802.3ad bonding enabled and both my nic's always connect at 1000M after reboot.
  17. Nice App. Works ok with my Supermicro MB. If only we could have Mac's at work How does the VPN stuff work? Cheers Will
  18. The transcoding abilities seem fine for plex in a vm. For the last 6 days I have run Plex in a win 8.1 VM with 4Gb ram and 2 CPUs. I had two remote clients & two local clients transcoding with the Plex setting on "make my CPU hurt" and didn't have any problems. The VM also does SAB,SB,CP.
  19. Or you can still connect the reds to your RocketRaid ctlr, and have the Se's on the LSI side? ESXi did some weird things when I vitalized unraid. If I went to stop the array it dropped all the disks connected to the RocketRAID it just seemed to not play nice when doing PCI pass through with ESXi.
  20. Absolutely! I have a bunch of WD4000F9YZ hanging off this controller and they work beautifully. Personally, I'd recommend them over the greens (and reds), in a heartbeat. Solid, very cool, very quiet. Comes for a premium though. The distributor in Australia has just called and indicated that the RED drives are not support on this LSI controller. I've just pulled the trigger on a couple of these 4tb SE drives. Just hurts after dropping nearly $1k on hdd's two weeks ago just to find if I spent $200 more most of my drives would have been compatible. Supermicro said LSI may fix it with a new firmware in the future but in the short term is looks like i'm having a fire sale on some red HDD's
  21. Sure sounds like it. In all experiments, if you remove the 3TB red and leave the other two, everything's sweet? I know in a previous post I mentioned the 4TB red worked but it definitely does NOT work (I must have been confused by the black drive) I spent nearly 3 hours troubleshooting this yesterday and no combination saw a 3tb or 4tb RED drive working with this controller. With or without the rocketraid controller installed. I've been getting the Firmware from Supermicro's FTP site & currently awaiting their response into the compatibility. Does anyone have the WD se range working on this controller?
  22. I've done some more troubleshooting today 3 HDD's plugged into LSI 2308-1 onboard controller. WD4001FAEX (4tb WD Black) WD40EFRX (4tb WD RED) WD30EFEX (3tb WD RED) On IT 15 10 Seconds to open utility 20 Seconds to open SAS Topology & refresh display Displays only WD4001FAEX as connected On IR 15 24 Seconds to intialize 55 Seconds to open utility 1 min 40 to get into SAS Topoloy & refresh display Displays only WD4001FAEX as connected ON IT 16.0.1 15 Seconds to open utility 22 Seconds to open SAS Topology & refresh display Displays only WD4001FAEX as connected After each firmware reload the WD4001FAEX had the slot on the SAS contoller changed and SATA cable swapped to one of the other non-discovered HDD's All 3 HDD's connected to RocketRaid 2720 are discovered Its got me pretty beat
  23. You're right i could live with leaving the 3's on the 2720. I'm rebuilding parity at the moment after all the mucking round, I'm just using the 2720 and the onboard SATA2 ports for now. The info i found only about the controllers in the Red, Black & Green drives. I will have another look tomorrow and take the LSI 2308 down to 15. The WD Red 3TB (WD30EFRX) includes the Marvell 88i9346-TFJ2 controller and recently updated to DDR2, 64MB Samsung RAM module. The WD Black 4TB (WD4001FAEX) includes a Marvel 88i9346 controller chip, as well as 64MB of DDR2 RAM from the Samsung K4T51163QJ-BCE7 module. The WD Red 4TB HDD utilizes the Marvell 88i9446-NDB2 controller as well as 64MB of DRAM cache from the SKhynix H5PS5162GFA The WD Green 2TB HDD is a Marvell 88i9045-TFJ2 controller chip paired with a 64MB Hynix DDR400 memory module.
