  1. When I first started using unraid I filled it with nearly all the plugins I thought I would ever need. After a few issues and the thought of bogging down my primary file server I have decided to run only 2 "Plugins" & 2 of Speeding Ant's plugins. Webgui Webserver (myPHPadmin) & Lanies / TheOne - Virtual Box Plex from the Plex website. I run 1 lubuntu VM with (CB, SAB,CP, HeadPhones, Lazylib, and what ever else I need to muck around with) So far stability is great, drives are spinning down when they are meant to and rebooting unraid takes only seconds. and I dont have to worry about it. Influencer has done a fantastic job maintaining those plugings and making new ones but it was adding so much complexity. my 2 cents. Cheers WIll
  2. I'm glad you got it working not sure how but anyway, i'll explain a few things to hopefully help you out for the future. I'm no expert at this stuff but after a few months of mucking round I have a pretty rock solid setup these days. My Plex App and Library directory are located in a folder called Applications which was made through the unraid web GUI and set as "Cache Only" - The mover script will run at the default time of 3.40am and transfer any files on the Cache drive to your array. The mover script would kill plex every night for me. If your Applications directory is setup as "Cache Only" then mover will ignore it. ( some people use .applications as its hidden and I think the mover script ignores it) I have created several other shares e.g. TV Shows, Movies, Music Videos etc.. through the unraid web gui. And then added these to plex as /mnt/user/TV Shows, /mnt/user/Movies etc... ( I set my plex scanning to detect on folder changes & once daily, ) Within the Plex settings you can set the Transcode directory. If I had this set as the default it would use quite a lot of RAM and occasionally crash plex. Make sure you change your Transcode directory to your SSD ( Cache Drive ) I just point mine to the Temp folder plex created in my Applications folder. If any one has other tips please let me know Cheers Will
  3. Not sure if this would be the best way but you can use cp in telnet when you find the file. (If its not on your cache drive) It would be something like "cp /var/blah/blah/Plex Media Server.log /boot/config/Plex Media Server.log" Then just browse your flash drive through finder and look at the log that way. I'm sure there is any easier way but my skills are pretty basic. My plex log is located here "/mnt/user/Applications/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Logs/Plex Media Server.log" "Applications" is a share setup on my cache drive. and Library is the path setup in the plex plugin. Cheers Will
  4. Did you use the plugin or drop the txz file in extra folder? are you accessing the plex interface via htp://unraidIP:32400/manage?
  5. This is a screen shot of my setup where "Applications" is a share I added from the GUI and choose Cache only. It comes down to personal preference about the name of the cache only share. some prefer ".apps" I like to keep it simple as i'm pretty new to using linux.
  6. I find downloading the PKG from the Plex website to me more reliable. Simply drop into the Extra's folder and reboot your box. Watch out for.... 1. If you have a cache drive make sure you have setup a new share that is cache only so the mover scripts doesn't kill plex. 2. Change the transcode directory to your cache drive or hdd within the plex app. Updating plex is annoying but you just get the new PKG from plexapp.com and replace the old one in the Extras folder on your USB>
  7. I've updated to v0.5 of the plugin and then reloading everything from scratch because of some other issues with Vbox. When i click the install option it kinda hangs and doesn't proceed to install. using the top command from terminal I see this running "11547 root 20 0 20616 7704 4104 S 100 0.1 8:53.54 /opt/VirtualBox/VBoxSVC --auto-shutdown" I've run the autoshut down from terminal and get this output. "root@Storageking:~# /opt/VirtualBox/VBoxSVC --auto-shutdown VBoxSVC: error: Failed to register the server name "VBoxSVC-4.2.6" (rc=NS_ERROR_FAILURE)! VBoxSVC: error: Is another server already running? XPCOM server has shutdown." Is there a way to downgrade the plg file to an older version? Thanks WIll
  8. Thanks everyone involved with this package & the new plugin. I am currently using the plugin and have recently upgraded to v0.5. My problem is after a reboot of unraid all my VM's are lost from phpVirtualBox. The VDI files remain but cant be re-attached because of this error. "VirtualBox error: Extra content at the end of the document. Location: '/mnt/cache/Applications/newznab.vdi', line 1 (0), column 2. /home/vbox/tinderbox/4.2-lnx32-rel/src/VBox/Main/src-server/MachineImpl.cpp[469] (nsresult Machine::initFromSettings(VirtualBox*, const com::Utf8Str&, const com::Guid*)) (0x80004005)" This is my VBoxSVC.log which shows a file not found for my *.vbox on starting up. Does anyone know where the vbox file is located ? 00:00:00.128630 nspr-2 Loading settings file "/root/.VirtualBox/VirtualBox.xml" with version "1.12-linux" 00:00:00.351305 nspr-2 Successfully initialised host USB using sysfs 00:00:00.353126 nspr-2 VDInit finished 00:00:00.356476 nspr-2 ERROR [COM]: aRC=NS_ERROR_FAILURE (0x80004005) aIID={22781af3-1c96-4126-9edf-67a020e0e858} aComponent={Machine} aText={Runtime error opening '/root/VirtualBox VMs/newznab/newznab.vbox' for reading: -102 (File not found.). 9. Thanks for your reply, This was my gaming rig for a couple of months or so and the 18gb under windows was working fine. I have a GA-EX58-EXTREME motherboard http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2957#sp next chance I get i'll reboot and run memtest to see what happens. Thanks Will
  10. Thanks firstly to anyone that is taking the time to read this. I have 18gb of ram in my new unraid box (bios sees 18gb) 3x 4gb stick in one channel and 3x2gb sticks in second channel, i am running beta 5 rc5 and for some reason the system will only read 2gb usable. My old box had 8gb and it saw it fine so i'm not sure what is going on with this new hardware build. my system log is attached if this helps to figure out what is going on. Cheers Will log.pdf
