  1. Hi all, I reckon I've stuffed something up here. I rebooted my UnRaid server (v6.8.3) and on restarting the array and the PiHole noticed I couldn't access via the IP x.x.x.100 like I normally can. Went in to the network settings of PiHole and changed to Bridge or something like that. Now the entire Docker has disappeared. I'm a newbie with this so sorry if that all sounds a bit vague. Anything I can do to get it back ? cheers, AS
  2. Hi all, so I have a HP N40L and bought it second hand 7 years ago. It's worked a treat using it for Windows Home Server. When WHS got discontinued I decided to look around and came across Unraid. And I'm now a big fan. I only use the server for the following: Pihole Storage of movies Storage of backups of my main PC using Veeam endpoint to a backup share Sync of my photos/movies etc from the main PC. So in theory, nothing critical as it's not my primary storage (except for the movies, but I would not cry over those if I lost them). I have a 4TB Parity drive, 2 x 3TB data drives and a 500GB data drive. The N40L seems to be working fine. And nothing I'm doing with it appears impacted. So , I suppose my questions is. Should I be upgrading at some point given its age, or do i just wait for it to die and remove the hard drives and put them in another machine and all will be good ? I'm leaning this way, but am happy to upgrade if recommended. I haven't a lot of experience with unraid (6 months). cheers, AS
  3. Hi all, should I be worried about these types of errors "Write Cache is disabled on disk2" ? I don't write much to these disks so not concerned about performance as such. Any thoughts on this ? If I should be enabling, is there a way to permanently set ? cheers, Adam
  4. Thanks guys. I'm a bit of a newbie with all this. I see what you are saying, see below. Do I just change the /mnt/cache/ below to /mnt/user/appdata/ ? Will that just fix it or will I lose config/data ? /etc/dnsmasq.d//mnt/cache/appdata/pihole/dnsmasq.d/ /etc/pihole//mnt/cache/appdata/pihole/pihole/
  5. Morning all, not sure if related but I have recently installed PiHole and started getting this error overnight. I don't have a cache drive installed - just a parity and 3 other drives. "Cache Floor Size (calculated to 2048000000 bytes) is larger than your cache drive (1953566720 bytes)" any ideas ? cheers, Adam
  6. Ignore me guys. I think I sorted it. Just found a setting RW/Slave and set it to that. And write cache enabled the drives based on FAQ's in this forum. and installed the Unassigned Devices Plus app. I'm assuming that was the right thing to do
  7. Hi all, I just purchased a new license and it asked me to restart the Array for it to take affect. I did that and immediately got the below. Can anyone give me some advice on what to do about this ? cheers, Adam Event: Fix Common Problems - svrUnRaid Subject: Errors have been found with your server (svrUnRaid). Description: Investigate at Settings / User Utilities / Fix Common Problems Importance: alert **** Docker application binhex-krusader has volumes being passed that are mounted by Unassigned Devices, but they are not mounted with the slave option **** **** Write Cache is disabled on parity **** **** Write Cache is disabled on disk1 **** **** Write Cache is disabled on disk2 **** **** Unassigned Devices Plus not installed ****
  8. Cheers for that. Will certainly have a look at Hoopster.
  9. Hi all, this might be complete overkill but I'm wanting to ensure that I protect as best I can our family photos, home videos and a collection of movies. All up only about 5TB. Can anyone advise what would be a good budget build I should put together to achieve this ? The VM's is something I might play around with, but mostly I am looking to just protect my files from loss/corruption etc. FWIW, I back up my photos and home vids to Amazon Glacier. any advice would be gratefully accepted. Cheers.
  10. Thanks mate. Will do as you suggest. Appreciate the tips.
  11. Greetings all. I am about to install Unraid but want to confirm that it will work with my Belkin UPS (600va) . Will it work do you think and are tere any tricks I should be aware of ?
