  1. Hello all, I have recently added a new SATA controller (SI-PEX40071) and two additional 2TB HDDs. All recognised and apparently OK until I started preclear. When I run preclear I get lots of other issues reported onother drives. These other drives are all connected to a Marvel 88SE9235 4 port controller. I am now rebuilding the array and while this was running I tried to preclear again and see the following in logs: Feb 21 10:49:40 server kernel: sdr: sdr1 Feb 21 10:49:59 server kernel: ata17.00: exception Emask 0x10 SAct 0x60000 SErr 0x200000 action 0x6 frozen Feb 21 10:49:59 server kernel: ata17.00: irq_stat 0x08000008, interface fatal error Feb 21 10:49:59 server kernel: ata17: SError: { BadCRC } Feb 21 10:49:59 server kernel: ata17.00: failed command: READ FPDMA QUEUED Feb 21 10:49:59 server kernel: ata17.00: cmd 60/00:88:60:a7:24/01:00:00:00:00/40 tag 17 ncq 131072 in Feb 21 10:49:59 server kernel: res 50/00:ff:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/40 Emask 0x10 (ATA bus error) Feb 21 10:49:59 server kernel: ata17.00: status: { DRDY } Feb 21 10:49:59 server kernel: ata17.00: failed command: READ FPDMA QUEUED Feb 21 10:49:59 server kernel: ata17.00: cmd 60/00:90:60:a8:24/01:00:00:00:00/40 tag 18 ncq 131072 in Feb 21 10:49:59 server kernel: res 50/00:ff:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/40 Emask 0x10 (ATA bus error) Feb 21 10:49:59 server kernel: ata17.00: status: { DRDY } Feb 21 10:49:59 server kernel: ata17: hard resetting link Feb 21 10:49:59 server kernel: ata17: SATA link up 6.0 Gbps (SStatus 133 SControl 300) Feb 21 10:49:59 server kernel: ata17.00: configured for UDMA/133 Feb 21 10:49:59 server kernel: ata17: EH complete Feb 21 10:50:01 server crond[1714]: exit status 127 from user root /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix.system.stats/scripts/sa1 1 1 &> /dev/null Feb 21 10:50:43 server kernel: ata17.00: exception Emask 0x10 SAct 0x600000 SErr 0x200000 action 0x6 frozen Feb 21 10:50:43 server kernel: ata17.00: irq_stat 0x08000008, interface fatal error Feb 21 10:50:43 server kernel: ata17: SError: { BadCRC } Feb 21 10:50:43 server kernel: ata17.00: failed command: READ FPDMA QUEUED Feb 21 10:50:43 server kernel: ata17.00: cmd 60/00:a8:10:3a:9a/01:00:00:00:00/40 tag 21 ncq 131072 in Feb 21 10:50:43 server kernel: res 50/00:ff:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/40 Emask 0x10 (ATA bus error) Feb 21 10:50:43 server kernel: ata17.00: status: { DRDY } Feb 21 10:50:43 server kernel: ata17.00: failed command: READ FPDMA QUEUED Feb 21 10:50:43 server kernel: ata17.00: cmd 60/00:b0:10:3b:9a/01:00:00:00:00/40 tag 22 ncq 131072 in Feb 21 10:50:43 server kernel: res 50/00:ff:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/40 Emask 0x10 (ATA bus error) Feb 21 10:50:43 server kernel: ata17.00: status: { DRDY } Feb 21 10:50:43 server kernel: ata17: hard resetting link Feb 21 10:50:43 server kernel: ata17: SATA link up 6.0 Gbps (SStatus 133 SControl 300) Feb 21 10:50:43 server kernel: ata17.00: configured for UDMA/133 Feb 21 10:50:43 server kernel: ata17: EH complete When I killed preclear the errors stopped again. server-diagnostics-20160221-1115.zip
  2. Hello! I have found a bunch of directories with in share have at some point got (kind of) duplicated and have (Frozen) appended to the ends of their names. The content of the directories is not consistent with the (not Frozen) counterpart. From the creation dates I think I had this share mounted (CIFS) on a Mac at the time while I was re-processing music files with Beets. Did I do something wrong, is it likely to happen again?
  3. Thanks! Now I just need to get it to start :-O
  4. HI and thanks for Musicbrainz docker. Does your build have DB sync enabled (ie, will it stay up to date with Musicbrainz servers?)
  5. at the moment the latest dump isn't fully uploaded to the musicbrainz ftp site. to retry with a partial pull you have to delete /data/dbase HI! I'm getting exactly the same error as this. Simply restarting seems to work, log says it's accepting connections except connecting to the interface on :5000 returns errors: 08006 DBI connect('dbname=musicbrainz_db','abc',...) failed: FATAL: database "musicbrainz_db" does not exist Followed by a LOT of stack trace data.
  6. .. and do sensible importing of duplicates (higher bitrate only)
  7. Worked a treat - Phew, thanks for such a speedy reply.
  8. OK so I'm runniing 6.0.1 and all has been very well (on various versions) for years but I was in the process of adding an addition (1TB) Drive, changed my mind (noticed smart errors). I did get as far as allocating the disk, then noticed the errors so I never formatted or added the drive. I've removed the drive but now the array shows a missing device (despite it never having been fully added). As there was no data on it, how can I now remove the allocation (drive13). I have no option to allow me to test or rebuild parity server-diagnostics-20150831-1616.zip
  9. No, I've backed out of cache pool now - I need to make some systems changes before I can re-attempt a pool. So I just ave a single cache drive, using RFS.
  10. That sorted it - phew! Thanks. So to switch to a cahce pool is the following a valid approach: 1. Adjust all shares to NOT use cache 2. Run Mover 3. do as you describe above.. I have (probably stupidly) a number of docker images / mounts which address /mnt/cache/blahh directly (I didn't see the point in protecting in the array). I guess I should change them all to /mnt/user/blahh and set them to cache only if thats still what I want?
  11. Unraid pro 6.0.1 I have een running this release for some time and I have just tried to add a 2nd drive to cache. I reduced the number of slots in my main array to 23, added one to cache pool (making it two). As soon as I did this, the FS type for my existing drive reported at BTRFS - it's not, it's still RFS. I backed out, removed the 2nd drive and now when I start the array, the cache is reported as not mountable? can I force the FS type back to RFS?
  12. OK, I use split level 3 for my TV share in the hope that show/Season will span disks but only a diskc disk per season. This should help with disk space management for those huge shows which have run for 10s of seasons now. It works for me but I find that meta data such a show thumbs, posters etc which are all stored in the show directory are being split across a LOT of disks. is there some way to stop / manage this?
  13. Unraid 5.0.4. Hello all! I'm trying to use rsync to make a copy of /mnt/cache/apps which is where I keep the various "stuff" used in various plugins I'm using (plex, denyhosts, sab, sick, couch etc) on a protected share. I'm running: rsync --archive --one-file-system --hard-links \ --verbose --progress --itemize-changes \ --human-readable --numeric-ids --delete \ --exclude-from=excludes.txt --link-dest=/mnt/user/protect/cachdrivebackup/2 \ /mnt/cache/apps/ /mnt/user/protect/cachdrivebackup/1/ .. and then I'll rotate a few directories which should contain hard links so I can keep a few copies over time. but I get: rsync: link "/mnt/user/protect/cachdrivebackup/1/Plex/library/snipepd" => /mnt/user/protect/cachdrivebackup/2/Plex/library/snipped failed: Function not implemented (38) So I tried to make the hard links manually with cp -al but still get Function not implemented. Does this mean that the filesystem doesn't support hard links?
  14. What makes writes to full disks slow Also, at what point does this happen?
  15. Location column is empty when navigating into a share. Works fine in stock UI and the upgraded stock UI. Please make SimpleFeatures work properly again. >>P-U-R-L-E-A-S-E<<
  16. or the only slightly less intuitive: tail -30000 /var/log/syslog | grep "duplicate object" | cut -d":" -f5- | sed "s/^ //" | sort -u | sed -e "s/^\\/[^\\/]*\\/[^\\/]*\\/\\(.*\\)/ls -lad \\/mnt\\/*\\/\"\\1\"/" | sh - | grep -v "/mnt/user/" Enter it all as one line... small edit to stop user0 share being output: tail -30000 /var/log/syslog | grep "duplicate object" | cut -d":" -f5- | sed "s/^ //" | sort -u | sed -e "s/^\\/[^\\/]*\\/[^\\/]*\\/\\(.*\\)/ls -lad \\/mnt\\/*\\/\"\\1\"/" | sh - | grep -v "/mnt/user" I wonder how difficult it would be to find the duplicates which sit on a disk alone, or at least with the least other data. My application is media files where I expect all files related to a movie or TV season to be on the same disk. I thinking a small mod to the mover script would be able to achieve this - albeit beyond my feeble abilities
  17. Hello! I have some user shares which I have secured but of course their content is visible in the disk shares. I've tried editing each disk share and disabling the SMB share of each but when I'd done this, no user shares were available. How can I disable disk shares and leave user shares working?
  18. K, so I'm seeing web gui gone away - no response from web server but emhttp is "running". By this I mean that the process is still running. 19. err.. I ask because the various key files are! Found that this is done in the addon install script, should this be in a different (addons) forum? Anyway, thanks for the help, I have it working now - done the same thing with blockhosts and it's config and hosts.[ad]* files. I'm a more secure (happy) bunny now
  20. so the contents of /boot/custom/etc/ssh isn't automagically copied on boot?
  21. hi, so I've enabled SSHD and want to do some obvious tweaks, i find /boot/custom/etc/ssh and edit sshd_config but after reboot, I still find that /etc/ssh/sshd_config lacks my mods. Is there somewhere else I should make my changes?
