  1. https://support.plex.tv/articles/201697383-why-is-plex-transcoder-using-my-cpu-when-nothing-is-playing/ See if that helps.
  2. Any chance you are running Plex? I had issues with Plex and it seemed to cause OOM errors. I stopped using Plex and they went away. It may be a coincidence but that worked for me. No issues, like you, just kept turning up in Fix Common Problems.
  3. Keep getting out of memory errors. Not sure why or what app/dock/plugin would be causing it. Any help would be appreciated. running 6.10.0-RC8 tower-diagnostics-20220514-1157.zip
  4. For those of us that are just buying these Seagate drives and have a windows machine handy to "fix" the drives. Download Seatools and install it in the default directory. Open admin command prompt and do the following, just the bolded commands cd C:\Program Files\Seagate\SeaChest This sets the prompt to the correct folder. SeaChest_Basics_x64_windows --scan Scans for the Seagate HD, get the Disk Number to fill in for XX, should be PDXX SeaChest_Basics_X64_windows -d PDXX -i Gives you the info on the disk. SeaChest_PowerControl_X64_windows -d PDXX --EPCfeature disable disables the EPC Feature SeaChest_Configure_X64_windows -d PDXX --lowCurrentSpinup disable disables the Low Current Spinup. REBOOT the Seagate Drive. Once the drive is back up, do the following to ensure that the 2 features are disabled. 1. Open an admin command prompt 2. cd C:\Program Files\Seagate\SeaChest 3. SeaChest_Basics_x64_windows --scan Scans for the Seagate HD, get the Disk Number to fill in for XX, should be PDXX 4. SeaChest_Basics_X64_windows -d PDXX -i Gives you the info on the disk. The info should be in the middle for the Low Current Spinup and near the end for EPC.
  5. Got one of those Seagates coming. Should I update it and turn off these functions even before I introduce it as my Parity Drive?
  6. Is it really a dud if it's lasted this long? I have 3 of them and had them for about 6 years now. Had 4 but one died so it could be worse...
  7. Is there a way to move select folders, like all folders A through J?
  8. Was looking for a good deal and this is the lowest I have seen on this drive. WD Red 3 TB NAS Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, SATA III, 64 MB Cache - WD30EFRX http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008JJLW4M/ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236344 Pick your poison Not sure how long it will last or if it is specific to me, but I figured I would let others know!
  9. Had this problem on Friday. THought it was heat, so I turned everything off for the night, and started the next morning and same issue. It was about 35GB of files I wanted to move. It would slow do to under 1MB for a bit, then it would speed up. to normal. Eventually it would work and run through. After it finished, I did a parity check and all was fine.
  10. Upgraded from RC12b with no problems. Running Parity Check now. Thank you for this great product!
  11. Amazon admitted it was a price mistake. The will not honor the 2 I bought but will honor one. So I got one for $89.99. I am not going to complain because I got one out of it.
  12. Yeah, there were like 40 available. I jumped in and grabbed 2 more...
  13. External Drive is on sale for $89.99 right now of this same drive. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0056YNA1Q I have 3 and they work great so far.
  14. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0056YNA1Q I bought 3 of these a few weeks ago for 139.99 and just ripped out the drive for my UnRaid box. These are Seagate ST3000DM001 drives and work great in my system. Not sure if it's a price mistake or not but grab em if you need storage!!!! Ripping them out does void the warranty. Dead now, sorry...Keep an eye on them in case they come back.
  15. Thank you Chicken Soup. That is what I thought but just wanted to make sure. No plans to expand that big yet just getting ideas. 10TB should be fine for this year...
