  1. Can CBB be updated from within the GUI, or do I need to wait for the docker to be updated? And do I need to worry about paying for annual maintenance?
  2. Found the problem, it looks like the upgrade screwed with the syslinux.cfg file which causes it to default into safe mode. Seeing as how I run the server headless, I didn't see this menu at boot up. default /syslinux/menu.c32 menu title Lime Technology, Inc. prompt 0 timeout 50 label unRAID OS menu default kernel /bzimage append initrd=/bzroot unraidsafemode label unRAID OS GUI Mode kernel /bzimage append initrd=/bzroot,/bzroot-gui label unRAID OS Safe Mode (no plugins, no GUI) kernel /bzimage append initrd=/bzroot unraidsafemode label Memtest86+ kernel /memtest
  3. Upgraded to 6.2 and now I can only boot to Safe Mode. What is Safe Mode, and how do I figure out why it always boots to it?
  4. Apparently the filename on disk was indeed " ", or a single space. Much easier to confirm that using MC rather than just the CLI. Renamed it to "junk" but it still appears in the list of user shares. I renamed it to junk in /etc/smb-shares.conf then stopped and started the array. Maybe I should have restarted the array before doing this, but whatever, it worked! Thanks guys!
  5. It's always worked this way where the shares don't show up when browesing, have to go to "Disk1" etc to find them. Even on UnRaid 5.x Maybe I need to start over from scratch? That's a lot of data to move around, but maybe it would fix it.
  6. Yes, see my post above. All the shares are listed as directories.

  8. That does not work. I can access as \\192.168.1.1\Disk1\Movies I can also browse shares on other linux boxes on the Lan, just not UnRaid
  9. I don't know what that first share is. bedrock-diagnostics-20150927-2001.zip
  10. None of my user shares show up in Windows (7 or 10), and they never have. It appears to me that my setting are correct, so where the heck are they? In SMB Settings I have Enable SMB Yes (Workgroup). Workgroup: WORKGROUP Local master: Yes Does Windows 10 even use a Workgroup?
  11. What did you modify it to? I changed the menu default entry as per previous posts suggestion.
  12. Cannot ping by name or IP. 8.8.8.8 is unreachable.
  13. Modifying syslinux.cfg does not appear to boot to Safe Mode. Also, I have discovered what the problem may be, but not what is causing it. unRAID cannot ping any hosts on the internet. I've double checked the default gateway and netmask, that is not the issue.
  14. Ok, I modified the syslinux.conf file via SSH and nano was able to save it. I restarted the system using the reboot command, and I can still not do updates from GUI. Also cannot write to the Flash drive over the network. It has occurred to me that I have a USB Flash drive that I had MP3 files on that played on the radio in my car. It no longer works properly either, ever since updating my PC's to Windows 10 (these drives were used on 2 different 10 machines). I'm wondering if there's some weird file permissions issue in 10 that is messing up these flash drives.
  15. Headless server I'll have to wait until I have time to drag it somewhere where I can connect a keyboard and monitor to check it.
  16. Thanks. File attached. bedrock-diagnostics-20150927-2001.zip

  18. When I click on the "Check for updates" button the Plugin Update Check window comes up and it sits at plugin: checking unRAIDServer.plg ... forever. It never does update. I'm also unable to update manually by copying the files to the Flash disk unless I shut down and put the flash drive in my windows machine. When trying over the LAN Windows tells me I need permissions to write to the disk. It's been this way for several version of Unraid now, I can't remember which version it last worked with. The logs aren't showing me anything helpful. 19. I do want rack mount, which is a downside to the Cineraid. He wants $100 for it, so I'm gonna pass. That Norco case is similar to what I have now, I was just too lazy to actually mount the drives at the time since I was hoping to find something better. I think for now I'll wait until I find something that better fits my needs. Thanks for your help!
  20. OK, thanks. I figured I'd probably have to get a new eSATA controller anyway, and by the time I spend money on that I may be better off finding a better enclosure.
  21. I currently have a really crummy rackmount enclosure with three hard drives literally laying inside of it. I have a friend offering to sell me a Cineraid H458 http://www.cineraid.com/products/home_h458.htm real cheap. Can I put my drives in that enclosure and plug it into an eSATA port on my motherboard? I'm a total noob so hopefully I'm not asking something that has an obvious answer. Thanks
  22. Found the problem. Have to set USB Boot to 'fixed' in the BIOS.
  23. Attempting to install unRAID for the first time. Using the 4.7 stable release. Get the following at boot: Kernel Panic - not syncing VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown-block (8,1) PID:1, commL swapper NOT tainted 2.6.32.9-unraid #8 Ran MemTest, it passes. Hardware: Intel D525MW motherboard 2X 2GB Crucial CT25664BC1067.M8FMR DDR3 CoolerMaster GX450 Bronze power supply Tried several different hard drives. I only have 2 at the moment, need to add a second SATA controller. Tried each SODIMM by itself, no change. Tried the latest beta, no change. Tried the USB stick in another PC, it boots. This is all new hardware less than 2 months old, and it runs VMWare ESXi with several linux guest distros, so I have to assume the RAM is fine or it would have crashed by now doing that, but it was rock solid. I don't have any idea where to go next. Any help appreciated.
