  1. Tried searching for 4 nvme + 1 sata on M920x. Not seeing anything. And especially not less than 5w in idle with 5 drives. Do you have a link or know what card was used in the pcie slot? I can't find one small enough to house 2 drives and that won't overheat.
  2. I'm having the same issues but only with Mellanox MCX311A 10Gb sfp+ cards, or Realtek 2.5Gb ethernet. My Intel x710 sfp+ card works fine and so do any 1Gb ethernet ports. I'm not sure how or why DNS requests would stop working outside gateway, but I can consistently duplicate this.
  3. I've had 3 Samsung bar plus fail. I see they are no longer available. I've had 2 Samsung Fit Plus fail. I see they are no longer available. Yes, this is on 5 different machines, so it is not a usb controller problem, unless all Intel mb's gen 6 to gen 12 have issues. USB is the lowest quality storage on the market, so it's no wonder users have so many issues with media that isn't designed to be plugged in 24hrs. I really don't mind buying ssd's and putting them in raid 1 even if all that space is wasted, if it means I don't have downtime. That's the biggest issue, especially when I'm not around.
  4. Thanks. This is what I was really looking for. Knowing that everything is in the config folder and not anywhere else is very helpful.
  5. Thanks, to me this is an issue. There's a reason someone would remove a pluggin and reinstall it. Settings should be deleted without manually having to dig for them. Or at very least, prompt user if they want to save settings. Hence my very original question on how to renew an unraid usb drive, which it sounds like it's not possible. Unfortunately I'm not aware of all the locations or files that could house settings that could effect the system.
  6. I'm aware of user shares and top level folders (although I don't agree with every top level folder becoming a share) There has not been a macbackup share for over 6 months as I removed it like I said earlier. (Side note, it would be nice to have a not share option) And if there really was something there, then why an error when watching the logs, as it should move it. I used MC and looked everywhere on the drive to make sure. In any case, I removed the entry from usb flash drive and no longer see it show up in logs when moving. Besides the ghost share issue. Deleting the plugins and reinstalling did not fix the issue. After deleting plugins AND deleting the entries from the unraid usb drive, then installing again, I am no longer having any issues. So there is some data, config, or whatever in a plugin that was not being deleted and causing issues. Why are entries left on usb drive for pluggins after removing them? For example, install unassigned devices. Remove unassigned devices and reboot. Under /boot/config/plugins unassigned devices is still there with it's config files. Why are there still config files for shares still listed after removing them? I just did a test1 share. Deleted it and rebooted. Yet it's still listed under /boot/config/shares as test1.cfg This makes it very hard to troubleshoot if someone assumes config files are being deleted when you remove either a share or a plugin.
  7. Thank you, I do understand how the shares work, but the issue is the remnants of deleted configs or information being stored on the unraid usb drive. My point was, after starting over, even with new hard drives, the share name (in this case macbackups), was shown in logs trying to be moved, and of course failed because there is no macbackups share. I had already deleted macbackups a long time ago. I searched the unraid usb drive, and sure enough it was there. That means the share info wasn't completely deleted. The same for some but not all pluggins. Delete, and they are still shown on usb flash drive. I'm trying to remove all of this previous configurations to rule out errors produced by them, but it seems I can't start fresh, and I do not know all other places that could be storing old info that needs to be deleted.
  8. I keep having an unresponsive issue that pops up between 2-8 hrs. I can click on each tab and everything looks fine except Dashboard and Main, all information is blank. I also can't bring up terminal or view log when this happens. I am not seeing any errors on syslog. I have to run poweroff locally at the server and then manually start up again. In troubleshooting, I installed all new known working hardware that was a previous Windows machine. Removed all containers, vm's, and started removing pluggins. The issue is, I can still see left over remnants on flash drive even after removing some pluggins, and shares. For example- While watching the log, I could see a very old share trying to be moved when mover is enacted. Found it listed on flash drive for some reason even though I had deleted the share a long time ago. I removed several pluggins and rebooted, but I still see them listed under /boot/config/plugins along with /boot/config/plugins-removed So how can I clean up the usb drive so it doesn't have all this crap that shouldn't be there even after removing it from gui. I only gave two examples of many, but I have no idea what other files aren't being deleted that could effect the system, which makes it impossible to troubleshoot.
  9. I'm using Corsair RM5550x 2021, and I've tried Corsair SF750. The difference could be that you aren't using 'consumer' motherboards or your Samung is EVO plus. I've tried Gigabyte z390, h310n, and Asus strix z390. (all mini itx) with Intel 9100T. I'm not ruling out an issue with Unraid either, but I suspect. I've had too many issues with changing hardware lately and weird configuration issues that come back that shouldn't after completely new hardware. Example, new drvies, with all new config. Transfer new data over. Run mover. I can see in logs errors because it's trying to move custom share that is no longer there. That shouldn't be happening. (Ended up finding those on flash drive). Point is, there could be other configs not renewing with new hardware. But way too much time spent. I'm not going to recoup money in power savings from lost time working on this.
  10. My itx board has same position for sata and would like to order slim cables. How long of cable do you need? I see some for sale around 200mm in length.
  11. The problem I have with this is no matter what nvme drive I use, it creates errors. Feb 19 09:51:50 Media kernel: pcieport 0000:00:1d.0: AER: Corrected error received: 0000:03:00.0 Feb 19 09:51:50 Media kernel: nvme 0000:03:00.0: PCIe Bus Error: severity=Corrected, type=Physical Layer, (Receiver ID) Feb 19 09:51:50 Media kernel: nvme 0000:03:00.0: device [1987:5012] error status/mask=00000001/00006000 I've tried on several gen8/9 gigabyte and asus motherboards. I've tried with 1TB Samsung 960 EVO and SN770, Intel 666P. 2TB 970 EVO, WD SN850, XPG SX8200P, Silicon Power A80. Looking up the error, it has to do with ASPM, and if you turn it off the error goes away. BUT the issue I have with that, is it works fine on Windows. I believe powertop has a ways to go before it's considered stable with nvme drives. (Or ASPM in linux). Way to many components that just break this. It seems there's only a handful of components that could actually take advantage of this, which makes it kind of worthless imo, like tryiing to find these elusive outdated motherboards for $400+, which makes no sense going forward.
  12. r8152 is the driver and covers the 8156. A lot of good information here on the different 8156 chips, vendors, and issues, in article and comments. Fixing performance issues with Realtek RTL8156B USB dongle Seems everything from getting a specific chip to using different USB ports, usb calbel can make all the difference.
  13. Also a bug with JellyFin. If on first launch it asks for login, just reload the webpage and it will go to quick start guide instead
  14. Just adding my support for this request. Very valuable feature.
  15. I understand what you are saying. The default docker config that is brought up when you download should match the default config of the application. I'm talking about the areas that we normally should not need to change to make it work when we start it. Example: below is what is shown for the default Path for incomplete downloads. There is no /incomplete-downloads in the container. The application downloads to /config/downloads/incomplete. The point is, take the time to create the default docker config to match what's in the docker. Otherwise leave a blank black underline so user is aware to fill it in themselves.
  16. Couldn't figure out why downloads wouldn't save to location I set in configuration and instead only saved to container. The docker config is wrong. (as are so many in Unraid). The docker config is set to /downloads and /incomplete-downloads but SABnzbd default download location is /config/Downloads/complete and /config/Downloads/incomplete. So you have to go into SABnzbd settings and change folder paths to match docker config, or edit the default docker config paths. Then the folder paths you set for outside the container will work. It sure would be nice for whomever does these, to at least match the defaults so we don't have to spend so much time trying to figure out why things don't work. Or at least test it yourself and make a note for users.
  17. Thanks, and nice job on tutorial. So many settings I would have screwed up if I hadn't watched this.
  18. Thank you Iker for the explanation. Very helpful.
  19. I created a raidz-1 pool from 3 4TB drives. I then created one dataset and uploaded my files. I'm a little confused on the USED and FREE columns shown and what they represent. Is the pool USED column showing the space used for data plus parity? And the dataset USED column is just space used for data not including parity? For the dataset FREE column, does this represent free space with expected parity? For instance could I really upload 4.51 TB in screenshot shown? Or should I assume I only have 2/3rd that space due to parity.
  20. Confused. 1st line- is pool/docker already a location on your pool or are you creating a new one with this command? 3rd line- I read that xfs should be used instead of btrfs, so would I just use mkfs.xfs -q / and I don't understand the docker-part1. Wouldn't you mkfs on /dev/pool/docker? When I try with /dev/pool/docker-part1 it says Error accessing specified device /dev/ssdpool/docker-part1 : No such file or directory. (Yes I did write after cfdisk create) Update- never mind. The write in cfdisk didn't happen for some reason. I just used fdisk. Now I see docker-part1 is automatically created.
  21. New to KVM so perhaps I'm not familiar with the nomenclature compared to hyper-v If I use initial memory 2048 and max memory 4096, it doesn't dynamically adjust which I assumed it would. Looking at performance under task manager and you can see allocation is very strange. With 2048-4096 it shows 4.0GB memory with 82-85% used on a fresh install (with drivers installed), and will reach 96% as soon as any activity starts. Will reach 100% and things slow down. i.e. 3.6/4.0 GB used, even though if you add up all processes, it doesn't come anywhere close to 3.6GB used. So although it reports 4096, it is acting as 2048 is the limit. With Initial and max at 4096-4096 it shows about 30 percent used on a fresh install and memory looks fine as applications load. Never reaching even 50%.
  22. Has anyone made an sfx power supply that is efficient at low wattage? 450w or under.
  23. Not only should you - you will need to. You can't mount multiple pools to the same path. I did some more reading, and I see my original question wasn't clear due to wrong naming convention. Mount points can be the same for multiple pools according to what I read. The pool names obviously have to be different. For instance zpool create -m /mnt/disks/zfs poolname mirror sdb sdc and zpool create -m /mnt/disks/zfs poolname2 mirror sdd sde. The actual mount point for both is /mnt/disks/zfs. I guess my confusion is that I don't see the pool name when browsing to /mnt/disks/zfs/, only datasets created under those pools.
