  1. Any thoughts at all?? Really lonely in here!
  2. I've not even had a sniff of advice, I'm wondering if to go with Ryzen 7 2700 or the 5 3600. Any reasons why you have gone for the 5 2600?
  3. Hi there, Good luck on your journey, it looks like I am looking for similar answers and advice too.
  4. Hello All, Having been offered some equipment from a good friend (a gamer) and loosing 2, yes two 2TB Seagate NAS drives within a few months of each other(luckily my photos/movies were backed up on the cloud)!! , I have now been pushed into a corner and was wondering if the equipment offered to build my system suits my need. if I firstly put up my requirements, hopefully this should assist or help with responses. Requirements/uses PRIMARY USE: 1. Locally hold family photos/video footage & movies ripped from Blu Ray mostly kids movies. 2. Be a Plex server (transcode- often 2 at same time, max 3-4, only to be used within local network) 1 @ 4k 3 @ 1080p 3. Ideally run the UNRAID headless, from a macbook or other laptop. IF POSSIBLE: 1. Edit 4k home videos (encoding and exporting videos), so need a decent CPU and lots of memory, some decent size SSD within the unraid, I currently use a Macbook pro, but takes quite a lot of time to encode footage (MacBook also runs as the Plex server). 2. Run VM machine for old versions of windows to run certain software. 3. In the future, say 2/3 years, build on the system (if I find the time) with the possibility to game (nothing serious, but boys will be boys) Now the following was offered to me, which I agreed to buy for a decent price: Case: Silverstone GD07 home theatre case PSU: 650w bequiet power supply I have also been offered a motherboard ASUS ROG X570-E for £125, without CPU, but was holding off as I was wondering if this is suitable, would work or is it overkill? If suitable what would be the best AMD CPU to go with this? There is some ram to go with the board, Corsair Vengeance DDR4-3200 32gb for about £125, which seems quite well suited i think??? I seem to go round and round in circles when trying to research, so thoughts and advice please, will it work without to many issues or is there anything else i should think about or consider? Thanks in advance
