  1. Semi-Resolved: For anyone that had the same problem as me regarding re-setting up "Drive Assignment Order" with a Fresh install of Unraid on a new Flash Drive: First setup a new bootable Unraid on your new flash drive. Scenario 1: You have a complete or semi complete backup of your original flash drive; If you want to have your Drive Assignment Order then copy over FlashDrive(boot)/config/super.dat to your new unraid flash drive and then boot up your server. you should now see your original Drives Assigned in the correct slots. Please note that if you have Parity Drives then you there are other steps you MUST take or you will lose data! Check out the referenced link below for more info! Scenario 2: You don't have a backup of your Original Flash Drive: Solution Coming Soon! Reference:
  2. Old flash drive started dying so I made a new flash drive (fat32) and made it bootable on the new one (USB2.0). The question is how do I assign the drives in the GUI based on the old diagnostics file (attached below)? from the old flash drive? (I'll take pictures for now on). FYI I did NOT have Parity drives setup Yet. ONLY the two cache drives and the 4 other disc drives apart of the Array. Im ok losing VM's and docker/apps but NOT the files on the Array please! Also a difference between my old flash drive and my new is that the old flash drive had a folder named "EFI-" but the new flash drive has a folder named "EFI" should I be worried about that? thanks!!! tower-diagnostics-20200621-2231.zip
  3. A few days ago I was unable to get to the webui or see the tower from my router using fing-desktop. I believed originally that the USB was going bad - - I backed up the flash-drive, got a new flash-drive, erased and formated (fat - not exfat) it using disk-utility (mac) and naming it "UNRAID", copied the files to the new flash drive and did the steps on the 'make bootable (mac)' executable, plugged the flash drive in the same port as usual (USB2) and booted up - router and browser cant see the tower. - Next step was to try different ports, USB2 and USB3 - None worked. - Then I reformated the new flash drive with the latest stable download of unraid and booted it up - IT WORKED!!! but I was scared to load the drives just incase it screwed up the array. - So then I copied (from backup) just the config file over (not overwriting) and then tried booting up - DIDINT WORK! - Then Copied the config (from backup) file to the flash drive (overwrote everything in the config file), booted it up - DIDINT WORK! so idk what to think anymore or know what to do next. Thanks for the help in advance! unbalance.log tower-diagnostics-20200621-2231.zip
  4. My VM was unable to boot at first do to Cache drives not moving. My Intentions was to Change the size of the VM https://screencast.com/t/fT6TKn43n from 9XXG to 1T - However I pressed 'Enter' before adding the 'T', reducing the size of the VM to '800B'. I do have some very important work on that VM - Can I recover the VM at all? I checked the Array and found only one backup but it's '350G' smaller than the 9XXG ( I know the full 9XXG was not used in the Win VM) I had originally. As mentioned earlier, my Cache Drives didn't seem to be moving so I have doubts about the backup on the array being a recent backup. I don't have parity setup RN. Any Advice? Thanks!
