giga,
I have a monitor attached to the onboard HDMI port. Perhaps that is the problem ? Should I try an dongle instead ?
-
Amsterdamm... what tool are you using to remote to the vm ?
-
adding to Wobble's issues.
I too am experiencing problems with the plugin.
I am getting the same DMA error's as cited in his original post
I have two VM's, Manjaro, and Win11. The win11 vm can display in 640x480 resolution. Manjaro vm gives up a black screen, despite having installed the drivers
I do not have audio in the vm. I chose the VF and not the main board in the template.
The VM's behave normally when I switch to VNC.
Using NoMachine as the remoting software, which is usually rock solid.
hmmmm

Hey guys, I'm trying to understand the purpose of this driver/plugin.
Will this basically allow me to pass through my IGPU to my VM and docker at the same time, kinda like the Intel GVT-g plugin?
i asked the same question a few pages earlier... here. Check the reply a few posts later.

thanks for doing this template... though not working for me. Every time I launch the logs and console menu items they appear briefly and the window then dissapears. Also nothing gets written to the appdata ntfy folder. Permission issues? Not sure what is going on here....

hi... basic question about this plugin...
I have a 13th gen cpu, so all good. I would like to use this for...
- unraid console
- vm
- jellyfin transcoding
Is this possible ? How would the console work if physicall hdmi port not supported ?
Any help appreciated.

thanks for this topic and solution... helped me deal with similar problems.
I bought a new power supply... but then threw in new MB, cpu memory, etc... just for kicks.
-
further to this... I noticed system would crash when I attempted to rebuild parity... So I have shelved parity for the time being.
Conclusion is that the power supply is not able to handle the load at startup of parity check... based on further readings around this forum.
My system is well past its use by date, and so I've ordered MB, CPU Memory, and new Power Supply. I am going to rebuild my system to something I can be a little proud of.
I originally assembled my server from used PC parts... which > 10 years ago were at the forefront of their time. Cest la vie.

same thing is happening to me... Mover is causing the server to crash... even check parity is not working properly. I am going to put the server in maintnenace mode and check to see if there is courruption in the file system. I am on 6.12.3.
It took me a while to get syslog working to my flash drive. Once I did this, I could see mover was what was causing the problem.
Not sure how to proceed...

me too interested in this board. I really need the ipmi to remotely manage... so thanks in advance if you can provide feedback....

I'm getting similar problems... I suspected the usb drive, so took a backup and then reinstalled a new key. Got worse... got into a bootloop after the login screen via the gui.
I disabled all plugins, and was able to start the array... you might give that a try, as it may get you past the initial load.
I also set my bios to not use uefi... to see if that makes a difference.
Still researching the problem... strange stuff.

sorry bud, but this looks ok to me... nothing comes to mind, though I continue to scratch my head on your behalf.
Frustrating I know...

I would be interested to see how these adapters are configured inside tvheadend.
Seems like a networking problem (DNS, DHCP) or something similar. Also how the users are configured too...
I use hdhomerun... and never have to reboot or reset. Very solid.

seems like a good build... if you are happy. I do have the node 804 sorry about the bum steer.
You can get remote access to your server much like any other service you may choose to engineer in remote access. The usual options apply, eg Wireguard VPN (reccomended), or use a domain with cloudflare with portforwarding on your router.
I do use the plugin, and find it fine. I also use the above remote capabilities for fun.

I have the same case, and like it a lot. The MB you chose is a mini itx, I would go the next one up mATX as this will give you better expandability. The one slot does not seem enough for me. I currently run a gpu and 4 x quad ethernet adapter in my mb.

this template is not working for me.

Any ideas on how to proceed ?

Dashy Template is broken. Please update it or remove from community apps. Somebody made a post on July 27th about this so its been broken for at least 2.5 months
yeah agreed, this is a pain in its current form. Delete and start again ?
edit: I tried this again, and it worked. It is a strange container volume because is points to a file and not a dir.
So... download the sample conf.yml first, and then place it into the dir structure. Use the volume to point to the file. It works, though is very odd from a docker point of view.

what is the name of the plugin ? I would like to give it a whirl....

I messed with networking, causing some instability which I since fixed.
The USB was acting up so I finally replaced it... should have happened a long time ago.
Thankfully my system seems better now after a brief period of instability.
I include my diags here... hoping you could go through and call out anything you think might need attention.... I note there is a .rec file on the usb, and am a little worried about it. I think I should delete it.
Many thanks ....

what a shame its so screwed up. Sorry about that.
Working ok for me. I also made the xml change above, and seems fine at the moment.
You should be able to delete the image and the template which is a little tricky in unraid. Then download a new template and create the image. Just point the new template to your old config directory... that way you won't lose any data....
Don't forget to delete the template from the usb drive. That is done in the container create dialog. You select the template and press the little x to delete. That way when you start a new template it will download it from CA.
Do some googling to see specifcs on how this is done.
best of luck

I saw this answer on discord, but I have no idea where to edit the template.
The templates are stored on the usb key. Look around here.... and you will find the template.
/boot/config/plugins/dockerMan/
I will also give it a crack... and let you know...
-
i spoke to linuxservr.io about this. They said there is an issue between CA and Dockerman. Suggested a temporary fix is to edit manually the template, and put a flag in it like this.
<TemplateURL>false</TemplateURL>
I have not tried it yet... but it seems interesting.

Giga,
After more research, it appears the drivers are unable to init the graphics pci board in the linux client (Manjaro)
Here is what I did... I installed the plugin and left it at 2 VF's by default.
I created a fresh manjaro install using both qxl and intel cards selected in the vm template.
The VM boots fine, the card is there... but does not init properly in the linux guest.

I suspect linux i915 drivers are not quite up to spec with sriov. Arch repo offers an aur install of 1915-sriov-dkms. Tried it, but no go.
I was able to get a windows11 client working, but had to use rdp to get the client to show. I prefer to use nomachine but not working yet.
Any thoughts would be appreciated....
