Unable to write to /proc/fs/nfsd/v4_end_grace: Device or resource busy
hi... my log has quite a few of this error in it. I am struggling to understand what might be causing this error ? The pid it provides does not seem to be active, so struggling to think what is causing it. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions ? I do run an NFS server, and set it up according to best practices for NFS in this forum. apprise plugin not behaving (solved)
Solved: It turns out I had the older plugin installed and not the new limetech apprise plugin. Make sure to uninstall the old plugin else your results will be chaotic.

apprise plugin not behaving (solved)
I am trying to use the new apprise plugin... that appears to be installed with unraid. The client I am trying to reach is also apprise elsewhere in my network... When ever I try to use the apprise unraid plugin... it gives me this error... which appears to be not quite right in my eyes... If you have any ideas on how to clear this up... I'd be most appreciative... is oculink DOM a thing ?
Innodisk produces the OCuLinkDOM 3ME2, a DRAM-less NVMe Disk on Module (DOM) designed for PCIe Gen 3.0 x2 connectivity via the OCuLink interface I appreciate what you say above, but I found this device that seems to do the trick. Rare as hens teeth, and perhaps too niche for my use case. I wonder about the usefulness of oculink. Seems to be gaining hardware momentum, but few peripherals follow. Just my observation.
-
is oculink DOM a thing ?
I have 3 x spare oculink ports on my MB, and with Unraid getting away from USB drives, I thought what better than to use a 32GB DOM on my MB. Seems like oculink should power the drive, so look to me like a neat solution.... If it actually existed. Any experience with this ? Any well known vendors out there ? I can't seem to find anything....

[PLUGIN] Intel iGPU SR-IOV - Support Page
yeah plus 1 million... to get a credible write up with state of nation on this technology set. Looks very impressive and enjoying playing with it... but to rely on this more, we need a deeper insight into the tech architecture and strategy.

[PLUGIN] Intel iGPU SR-IOV - Support Page
I also updated to 7.2.5 and the sriov plugin is nowhere to be found. A win vm fails to start due to a pci error. The rc1 prior to this update was fine... hmmm update: I got this to work, though was a little involved. Here is what I dd.... removed vf's from the VM I was using it on... Uninstalled the sriov plugin rebooted. re-installed the plugin.... success ! created 3 x VF's Bound the 3rd VF to VFIO rebooted Modified the win vm template, adding back in the 3rd VF as the gpu. Start the vm... Connect to the VM via Rustdesk... Working !

zfs dataset - delete a dataset leaving underlying share alone
I created some time ago a number of datasets e.g. for appdata, domains, system. I never really used thsese datasets, though they are attached to shares of the same name. I would like to delete (destroy but non destructive) these datasets. How can I do it? Do I have to copy off my domains folder to another location, delete, and then copy back ? Is there an accptable way to do this non destructively ?

restricted characters in share name
I have a share that looks like this: 01_ACTIVE PROJECTS I get this warning from the unraid GUI: Share name contains restricted character(s) Curious as to what part of this is restricted? Search seems to suggest these are acceptable characters for SMB. This share has a space, undersctore, numeric numbers... which of these are restricted ?

passthrough meta (super) key to vm
I am interested in trying out hyperland in a vm. After installing... I am puzzled by how to send keystrokes to vm that require meta/alt etc... I noticed the vm template has some evdev info... but not really sure how this done. Has anyone had a go doing this? How do you use your keyboard on the vm without having the host capture the key ? Hmmm

homepage docker
thank you bmartino1 for your considered response.... I seem to wake up every few months and try to improve my monitoring and dashboarding. I gave homepage a really good go, and it is not bad... I did get several widgets working ok... and certainly had a look at the youtubers, who have covered this topic quite well. Thanks for the info... So I have my dashboard split between homepage, and dashy... not really sure which is going to rule the day, (if any). Still waiting for nirvana...

homepage docker
Anyone here using hompage docker to manage their control plane for your homelab ? I am having a devil of a time getting the homepage widgets to communicate properly to containers or even vm's. I am getting at best partial results... but yet so far away. There is no effective support for the docker template in the forum, so I'm posting here... Have you got homepage running ? Do you widgets work connecting to opnsense, speedtest-tracker, anything at all ? I do like the look of homepage... just not working properly, and close to capitulating.

2 x 2tb nvme drives
my mobo has 2 x nvme drives fully populated with 2TB drives... cool. currently setup as 2 x pools... cache1 and cache2. Is it possible to reconfigure this... so it is a single pool (bigCache) with 4 TB usable ? I suspect a single pool is supported but it will mirror the drives ? Don't have the spare hardware to test this... so appreciate your thoughts...

Best way to Backup Whatsapp data to Unraid
I am an android person but use whatsapp... and suffer a google cloud limitation similar to you. My workflow is complicated to setup at first... seamless once setup. I run syncthing on my phone. I point syncthing to the dcim folder for pics, and a similar whatsapp folder. Syncthing copies all data to a share on unraid. I then use digikam on a quarterly basis to sort through and delete obvious stuff. Then I move the good pics to my photo library. Once the items are moved or deleted, syncthing will echo these deletions to the phone, which in turn will delete if off the cloud ! I also use immich as a replacement for google photos. Once I'm confident of this workflow, I will set the phone to STOP backing photos to the cloud. hope that helps

Anxious about accidentally deleting a share
If you did accidentally delete 147TB of media... After the panic sets in, you will no doubt feel immensely lighter. Your countenance will change you you will become a better person for it. that is my truth... and sticking to it.

unRaid does not Boot automatically
just wanted to say thanks for this workaround. I am using a new 424-MAX and not being able to boot was a showstopper. I do have longer term concerns, because I suspect future releases will overwrite the syslinux.cfg file... which is no good. I don't mind not getting the boot menu option, because in console I can type "slim" and up pops the menu. This is good.

version 70 rc1 - cache drive unassigned
I upgraded form latest to version 7 rc1. Did not go well i'm afraid. I have 2 x cache drives (pools) defined. /mnt/cache, and /mnt/nvme. appdata is located on /mnt/cache and System & Domains on /mnt/nvme. After upgrading... the cache came up unassigned and in error. nvme worked fine... but docker containers all assumed for some reason they were working on nvme, and not cache... hence the dockers opened files on the nvme drive... strange stuff. So a mix of appdata files on cache and nvme drives. I assigned cache drive and got it up and running... but too late i'm afraid... as appdata is corrupted with multiple instances of folders on both drives. A mess to be sure. I downgraded, and slowly working on a cleanup/merger of files for my dockers. I took a diag before downgrading... but not sure it will help here... let me know.

[Plugin] Mover Tuning
confused over some massive work mover is doing... when not really necessary ... Hope its not damaging anything... I really dont understand this.... any hints are appreciated.

sorry but no... I parked it, and am waiting for newer xe drivers for linux. That should improve things.
