  1. Hey Chris, That should work, yeah. What I would recommend, however (and what worked for me), was to move from the Linux Server repository to the Binhex-Plex repository. I just used the same mappings and settings on both dockers, deleted the Linux docker, and was back up and running within a half an hour. I hope this helps.
  2. Hey G1BZ, I've had similar issues (unable to see libraries when logged in as admin, but able to see some when logged in as a managed user; pals are reporting a "files don't exist/drive not mounted" error). I think something with the recent Plex update must have broken things (interestingly, when I click "scan library files" it works through the files and tries to repopulate before saying "an unexpected error occurred."). People over on the Plex forums are reporting loads of issues on every OS (Mac, Windows, Unraid, etc.). So, I don't think it's anything we've done. And I'm also not seeing any info on how to fix it. Might be time to switch to Emby or Jellyfin, if they don't patch things up quickly.
  3. Hi All, So, I've just noticed sort of a weird problem, and, since I'm not sure how to search for the answer, I figured I'd raise it here. Went to access Plex today, and my libraries weren't available under my main, admin account, but I was still connected to the server. Updated the docker and Unraid to the latest versions, no luck. For science, I made a new managed account while logged in as the admin. I then accessed Plex via the new managed account. The managed account has full access to all my libraries. I'm assuming this is some sort of permissions problem with the docker update last night (6/14/2022), but I'm really at a loss. Has anyone else experienced this? Has anyone got any idea of how I can get my regular account to work properly again? I can get logs if you need them, but I wasn't sure which ones might be helpful. Thanks in advance for your help!
  4. FWIW, I've just recently had this error. I've only had it once, and it was while I was using an HD Homerun to stream the football on Plex. At one point, I had to restart the stream, and I'm guessing that this was what happened. I'll keep an eye on it, but hopefully it's just a one-off and we needn't be worried!
  5. Hey folks! I've just upgraded the parity in my rig to a 10TB IronWolf drive. I was dismayed to find that only two of the holes line up on my 3.5" drive sleds (I'm using a Fractal Arc Midi R2). I also installed two 5.25" hot swap bays, so this isn't an immediate concern. I would, however, like to add more 10TB drives in the future. So, I'm wondering what you all would recommend with respect to mounting these when only two screw holes line up. It seems like two screws is just insufficient for the drives, but maybe I'm wrong. The only solutions I've thought of are two-sided tape (seems janky) or getting a different case (seems spendy), so any suggestions y'all have would be most welcome. Also, this week marks one year since I've built my unRaid server! Pretty stoked about it. The community here has been instrumental in the original build and continued functioning of my server. Thanks for that!
  6. Hey all, Running UnRaid 6.8.3, here. Connecting devices over WiFi on gigabit internet. As the title indicates, I'm a bit concerned about the speed of my Time Machine backup--especially the expected duration as compared to the backup of my PC I did using binhex-urbackup earlier. Both were roughly 220GB, but the PC completed in 2.5 hours while my MBP is estimating 17 hours. Seems strange. I've noticed, also, that if I need to move a file, say, from one media folder to another (I know, I should use Krusader), that the PC does it in seconds whereas the MBP takes several minutes. I've done some poking around, but all of the possible answers I found were rather old. So I thought I'd ask again. Thanks in advance for any advice you might have. theshire-diagnostics-20210131-2331.zip
  7. Thanks, Jonathan. Really appreciate the responses!
  8. Just set this all up, and it seems to be progressing without issue. Quick question for you all: did you mess around with the settings for minimal/maximal numbers of backups or did you just leave it as is? Trying to avoid filling my server up with backup files. Thanks!
  9. This is helpful, Jonathan, thanks. Quick follow ups: (1) I'm using an LSI 9211-8i, this should handle the larger drives fine, right? (2) The Seagate Exos drives are pretty reasonably priced (a hair over $20/TB for a 16TB drive). Do you have any thoughts on these?
  10. Hi All, My server case has enough room for eight HDDs. I have a 4TB parity drive. I'm about to the point where I'll need to add another disk to the array. My question, then: given that, at some (distant) point in the future, 7 x 4TB HDDs will not be enough storage for me, would it make more sense to (1) upgrade my parity drive now and then add the old parity to the array; (2) just keep adding 4TB disks to the array until such a time I'm forced to upgrade my parity so that I can add larger disks to the array; (3) not worry about it because the choice between (1) and (2) doesn't matter much; or (4) some other option of which I've not thought here. Thanks in advance, y'all.
  11. Hey all, So, I've just bought an APC UPS. When I hooked it up today, the light indicating a site wiring fault switched on. In the instructions, it says that I'll need to call an electrician to sort this out and that I shouldn't use the unit in the interval. The problem, however, is that I rent and apartment and the wiring is pretty old. The age of the wiring (and the fact that many outlets are two-pronged) suggests that the SWF is picking up on a grounding issue. Question: is it safe to use the UPS at this time? If not, and given that there's nothing I can do about the wiring in the walls, is there any course of action you'd recommend? My power goes out more than I'd like, and this has caused some server trouble in the past. So, I'd like to have some protection. Of course, it's not worth it if I've just installed a fire hazard! Thanks in advance for your responses. *Edit* It may be worth noting that we've had zero trouble with plugging things into our outlets in the one+ year that we've lived here.
  12. Hi all, So, I've recently upgraded my server. The RAM I put in turned out to be bad (failed Memtest miserably, oof) and all hell kinda broke loose with the server (cache drive wouldn't mount, got weird bugs when plugged into the monitor, network connection with web ui and telnet were super unstable, other stuff). Anyways, I reinstalled the old RAM and things are functioning as normal except my syslog reveals the following repeated bit of text: Apr 29 13:33:51 TheShire kernel: caller _nv000908rm+0x1bf/0x1f0 [nvidia] mapping multiple BARs Apr 29 13:33:53 TheShire kernel: resource sanity check: requesting [mem 0x000c0000-0x000fffff], which spans more than PCI Bus 0000:00 [mem 0x000c0000-0x000dffff window] Now, it was happening every 2 seconds when I had GPU stats installed. It stopped when I uninstalled. But I ran a "watch nvidia-smi" in terminal and it reappeared (bc of course it did). I've poked around the forums but haven't seen anything conclusive on: (a) what this bit of text means or (b) how to fix it. I'm hoping to find answers to both. Thanks in advance for your responses, syslog attached (from both today and yesterday when stuff was going haywire, just in case). p.s. Maybe better for a different thread, but here goes: given the snafu I had yesterday, would it be advisable to backup my stuff and do a clean install of unraid? I'd like to avoid that if possible. Jitsi?

Hi folks, So, I've followed the instructions (I thought) from @SpaceInvaderOne's excellent video, but I'm coming to some problems. In particular, once I execute the docker compose command, the docker tab indicates that the version of my Jitsi docker is "not available". I've tried going through this process a few times (which may or may not be advisable) and come to the same problem each time. I've attached my logs from one of the Jitsi dockers. Thanks in advance for any insight that y'all might have. Jitsi Log.txt
  14. Thanks, Hoopster. These responses were very helpful! Cheers!
  15. Hi folks, I've finished my first ever server, and everything is working quite well (thanks, entirely, to Spaceinvader One's amazing videos and the great community here!!!). Of course, now that it's up and running, I've immediately started thinking of the ways in which I could improve it (I just had so much fun with the build that I don't want the fun to be over--I'm sure y'all can relate). My use case: Plex (for me and around 5 pals, probably only a few streams at once), Nextcloud, possibly some VMs down the line, maybe more as my knowledge of what I can do with Plex increases. Anyways, the possible weak points, it seems to me, are the GPU (GeForce 710) and the RAM (8GB Patriot DDR4). So, here are my questions: Is it worth upgrading to, say, 32GB ECC RAM or is 8GB sufficient for my use case (I'm really new to all this and so cannot gauge what I might need in the future). Provided that HW accelerated transcoding is compatible with my AMD cpu (I've found no clear answers online), is it worth upgrading the GPU to, say, a GTX 1060? Something else? Thanks in advance for your responses (and apologies in advance if this topic has been covered elsewhere). Onward, pb
