  1. post what appears after you add the apps (ie: at the bottom of the screen there is the docker run command) Here's the screen shot after installing Emby
  2. Many dockers can take a while to startup. How long did you wait after starting the docker before you tried to access its webui? When on my LAN it immediately gives me that error, doesn't even really try to startup. I have my unRaid set to a static IP address and have that linked to a domain name so I can access it anywhere. When outside of my LAN it attempts to load and takes awhile, but always fails. However the address it's trying to load is http://192.168.0.103:8096/ which wouldn't work outside of my LAN so I'm guessing the problem lies somewhere with my router settings.
  3. Could use some assistance: Every time I install a docker (so far two versions of Plex and EmbyServer) I start the application and then click the WebUI and for each one it gives me the error 'This site can't be reached'. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the configuration of my router or with my installing of apps / docker.
  4. Upgrading to V6 and I have a slight problem... I can't remember my admin password to run the make_bootable_mac file on the disk drive. Any suggestions?
  5. Version: 5.0-rc12a Latest Version of SNAP I added a portable external hard drive to my server, used snap to mount it and when go to access it through explorer is asks for a Login and password. I've read the posts on the new security settings and still don't know how to fix it. All of my other disks and shares are accessable without requiring a password or login. Also once I gain access to the drive would dragging items from "TV Shows" to the hard drive "Seale" be the same as copying them over the network. Do I have to use MC to transfer files? Thanks in Advance.
  6. Bronson (2008) A young man who was sentenced to 7 years in prison for robbing a post office ends up spending 30 years in solitary confinement. During this time, his own personality is supplanted by his alter ego, Charles Bronson. Extremely weird movie. Not even sure if I'd recommend seeing it...
  7. Yeah that's what it was. I went to the new permissions page and ran that script and it worked perfectly. Thanks for the advice.
  8. I just used midnight commander to transfer files from disk1 to disk2 on my unRAID however now when I go to access the contents on disk2 it says I don't have permission. Any idea why that would be?
  9. I don't know what svn really is or how to use it. Know where I can look to read-up on it or how to use it to get unmenu
  10. I'm setting up my first system following the configuration tutorial however my situation is a little unique. My unRAID server is connected to a laptop via ehternet cord but neither of them are connected to the internet and they can't be connected. I have internet access (on a separate computer) to download the software and whatever I need but when I go to install unMENU on my unRAID system it tries to connect to google and obviously it cant. Any suggestions?
  11. Worked like a charm, thanks for the help. I'm switching the jumper and rebooting now.
  12. I'm trying to setup my unRAID server for the 1st time however I'm running into some problems. I'm trying to setup the server without being connected to the internet. I'm able to boot from my flash drive and control the server from a connected screen and keyboard, however I'm trying to access my server from another computer that is connected to the unRAID system (IPMI port) from a CAT5 cable. So the cable goes from my server to a laptop I have and neither are connected to the internet. Is this even possible? I have a supermicro X9SCM-F mobo. When I type in 'ifconfig eht0' into 'root@Tower:~#' it returns: Link encap: Ethernet HWaddr and a bunch of other stuff And when I type //tower into my laptop it just returns a could not connect page.
  13. John, Since you've got a very similar build I wanted to ask a few questions as everything I order has come in and I'm only waiting on a thumb drive to get my server going. The power supply has the 24 pin and 8 pin cords going to the mother board. Then it has the two PCI-E cables which I'm not using yet. It has the 8 SATA cables and the 8 4-pin peripherals. Currently I've got two of the 4-pin peripherals plugged into my 5 in 3 CSE-M35T1B and two others plugged into the case fans. As for the SATA cables from the PSU, none are in use and I'm assuming I won't have to use any as I will eventually have 3x 5 in 3 cages in my case. In the back of my Supermicro CSE-M35T1B I currently have two SATA cables that came with the Rack (should I buy different ones with locking mechanisms?), the fan plugged in, and two 4-pin connectors from the PSU. Is there anything else that should be plugged into this? Also I was wondering what this cable is used for and what it's supposed to be connected into? Thanks for your help.

  17. Awesome thanks for the advice. A couple of questions: What do you mean by hooking the 16th port up to the front eSATA port for SNAP? When you say the M1015 needs to be reflashed, what exactly does that mean and how is it done? Also what's a good price I should be looking at for the M1015. On tigerdirect it's $294 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5509898 and on newegg its $320 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816145028&Tpk=M1015 is this roughly what they should cost? I appreciate the advice on the fans as well, I'm going to look into that. Thanks for the help.
  18. Thanks, I'll incorporate those changes. As for the RAM I haven't thought about what kind to get yet. I was mainly focusing on the above items since they are more of decision point items. Do you have any recommendations for the RAM?
  19. I'm currently in the process of building a media empire. I'm in Afghanistan and in my free time I've been gathering all sorts of media and reading as much as I can about unRAID servers. I'm beginning to run out of space and want to build my own unRAID server to be used to store movies, music, and pictures. I was planning on using it in conjunction with XBMC however I recently was reading about PLEX and need to research that to see which program would be better for me. Currently I have been burning DVDs in MP4 format using handbreak (is this the best format to be storing my DVDs?) and I have hundreds more to do but I'm out of space. After doing a lot of reading this is what I have planned so far for my build. Case: Prominent 9 Silent PC Case ($80.00) http://www.endpcnoise.com/cgi-bin/e/std/sku=silent_pc_case.html Rack: Supermicro CSE-M35T1B ($97.00) http://www.buy.com/prod/supermicro-cse-m35t1-mobile-rack-storage-enclosure-5-x-3-5-1-3h-hot/10344799.html MOBO: Supermicro MBD-X9SCM-F-O ($200.00) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813182253&Tpk=supermicro%20x9scm-f CPU: Intel Core i3-540 3.06GHz (will this be compatible with my MOBO?)
