1. I must admit I had not once I saw the same exact issue on the local console screen of the UnRaid server itself with a fresh install. I did just clear all browsing data and cache and confirm it did not resolve the issue. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
2. trurl I'm sorry. I assumed since the boot problem was fixed and I was back to my original issue I should start a different topic. I'm sorry if that was the wrong thing to do. I did follow your instructions and created a new flash install. I downloaded the USB creator and allowed it to write the image. I then copied the "config" folder over to the newly created boot drive overwriting the origional. I also went through the process of reassigning the Pro license to the new flash GUID It is not a browser issue as it is exactly the same on every PC, phone, and the local console of the server when booting to GUI mode. 3. Sorry I edited the first post. I did that a few minutes ago but probably after you read the post. Same symptom.
4. Did you replace the batteries just before doing the test? If so I find it odd the state of charge is 100% on freshly installed batteries. I just installed a new SmartOnline 1500 UPS and it took hours for the batteries to charge fully. It would not complete any self test or run-time calibration until state of charge was 100%. I even tried it at 99% and it would not complete. I know your output said 100% charged though....
5. So my GUI looked like this. I did a reboot and then my server would not boot. Seemed my flash was corrupted and through the help of @johnnie.black and @trurl I got it booted back up. However booted back up brings me back to my broken GUI (I have backed up my config folder now lol). I have a brand new install on a Lexar 32GB USB 3.0 drive installed in a 3.0 port directly on the motherboard. Booting into GUI mode with a monitor attached shows the exact same GUI output. Attaching screenshots and logs. I unplugged the UPS so that is why you see comm loss with it. I see a lot of errors relating to webgui but no idea how to fix. Thanks in advance for any help. Andrew Edit: Just tried USB 2.0 port and same symptom tower-diagnostics-20190106-1520.zip
6. EDIT: You guys got me booted back up so Ill start a different thread on the GUI problem. Thanks! Ok Thanks guys. I seem to have been able to follow your advice and actually this time the config folder copied without error. The server came up but the GUI still seems broken like it did before this fiasco started. This is how it appears on all devices, and all browsers.
7. I'm going to try this. I know some of the files in that folder gave errors trying to copy to my desktop. When I get home I'll see which files it was and reference the link above. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
8. Ok but I have a question. How do I boot without losing data? Which of the config files can I try copying over for disk configurations and shares, and network? I have a diagnostic log that was taken before some of my drives were converted to XFS. Would using that config mess anything up? Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
9. I come to you guys with a plea for help lol. My web GUI looked super weird. Like only text and missing graphics etc. I thought it odd, but did not take a screen shot. I stopped the array and rebooted. Wish I had grabbed a flash backup off the array....... Now the server will not boot. It gets to the screen where it asks "Unraid OS" "Unraid GUI", etc auto boot counts down, and then the page flashes and the coutdown starts again and again. Manually selecting an option does nothing either. I removed the flash drive and brought upstairs to my desktop and although I can see the content when trying to copy lots of files give missing or corrupted errors. The really "odd" part of this is I installed a new UPS about 5 days ago. When I installed the new UPS I installed the USB interface cable to enable UPS monitoring, shutdown, etc. A few years ago I had found that my UnRaid server would not boot with a USB communication cable plugged into a different UPS so I ran it with no monitoring and shutdown capabilities for years. Until today I had not tried booting the server with the new UPS plugged in. Hard to image it would have corrupted my flash drive. The flash drive is old. It is my original drive. Probably 6-7 years old? Does this sound like a flash drive issue and if so what are my options here to get back up and running? Thanks, Andrew
10. Thank you. the issue must be SMB as you stated. I did the below quote which I found as part of reading through your posted reference and its working now. I think this will work for me since this PC stays on this network, and the server has a static address "SMB is pretty good - it's just it's craptastic nameresolution that sucks. Go static IP no more problems. *** edit Now if you want to be smooth, just edit the c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts .... add in your server and name, it blammo name resolution works for every windows/linux pc you fix the hosts on ."
11. Guys I feel like this should be something simple and I shouldn't have to ask for help on this...yet here I am. I added a 4 port NIC to my UnRaid server and configured a channel-group on my Cisco 3750x switch using 802.3ad. I had trouble getting UnRaid to use that card and after messing around, changing the interface to MAC assignments, it's working. I have assigned the new bonded interface the same IP as I used to have which is 192.168.1.2. I can ping 192.168.1.2 from any PC, yet my shares etc are all not working which rely on hostname. If I try to ping the hostname "tower" It comes back as resolving to IP 192.168.1.51 yet that address does not currently exist anywhere on my network and the ping obviously fails. All my shares can be accessed by going to \\192.168.1.2\share names, however \\tower\share names does not work. What am I missing here? This behavior happens on all PCs on the network not just one. I tried ipconfig /flushdns and not change. I have also rebooted all PCs on the network as well as the router. Thanks a lot, Andrew
12. I thought I did but I ASSumed it could only be done on a disk that was not a member of the array. I thought formatting was when a file system format was written to the disc and will invalidate anything previously written to the disk. I've only ever done it when adding a new disk. Perhaps I'm way off base here. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
13. Ok I will heed your advise. Sorry bad choice of wording. No the disk has not been removed. I guess I mistakenly thought at some point throughout the process I would have that disk no longer a part of the parity protected array.
14. Haha Glad I stopped and asked. Are you also saying I can't or shouldn't stress test that drive while it's out? Only reason I ask is because those 3TB drives that still need converted are ones that do not have a great reputation and I had 1 fail about 2 years ago. Thanks again for your help. tower-diagnostics-20181126-1517.zip
15. Thank you for your time and help sir! I transferred the contents of disk 4 to disk 10 and a little to another disk using Unbalance. From what I can tell there are no files remaining on disk 4 but the share directories are still there. Thank you very much for your guidance and I apologize for not being up on this process.
16. Hi guys, I transferred all my files off a 4TB drive, onto an existing 8TB array disk using UnBalance. I still see shares on the 4TB disk using the unraid file explorer on the Main page GUI but there are no files on the disk. I'm really confused as to what to do at this point. I have dual parity. Do I un-assign the disk and let parity rebuild with the missing disk? Then format the 4TB disk? I would like to pre-clear stress test the disk before adding it back to the array. I'm sorry but I'm confused. Thanks for your help!
17. Well this is not an UnRaid induced issue. Transferred a large file to a PC on the same network switch as the UnRaid server and then transferred to the UnRaid share. 112 MB/s. So its either a network issue or my main PC. Thanks for the help though.
18. Tested again today, 50-55 MB/s. Downgraded to 6.5.3 and got 75-80 MB/s with the same file. It has been a while since I transferred large files and I really wish I could remember which version I was on when I was transferring a lot and was seeing 110 MB/s all the time. Guess I need to troubleshoot more than just the OS although the downgrade did speed things up.
19. Not to belittle your request, but a for now solution. You could always use something like a Ubiquity Nanoststion M to establish a wireless bridge to your own switch, or just plug the secondary port of the Nanoststion directly into the UnRaid NIC. The Nanostation M is only gonna be good for up to 150 mbps so you may want to look more at using something like a Unify AP instead. Not sure if they have the same capability but you could research it. I have a spare around here I could do some testing with if you need me to. I do know that you cannot use a Nanostation AC to do this. Something even more simple is the range extenders / bridges that have a port built in but I have very little experience with that stuff. I have used ubiquity products with much success. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
20. How do I do that easily? The web GUI only shows me a roll back option if going to 6.6.3 Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
21. Hi guys. On a previous version I was running I would saturate my gigabit network connection when transferring movie files. After upgrade to 6.6.3 it only runs around 50-55 MB/s transfer. After noticing this I upgraded again to 6.6.5 and same issue. I wish I had reverted back instead of upgrading again but live and learn. I can't remember exactly which version I was on but I believe it was 6.5.x (x something). Any idea what could have happened? Is there a setting change I am not aware of? I am still using the cache disks I checked that. Thanks for any help. Diagnostics attached. tower-diagnostics-20181114-1905.zip
22. You were right. Tried this morning and it went through. Now just to get my Next Cloud working again. Changed the port in the docker but my phone still isnt happy
23. Hi. Did the update but get an error 403 when trying to provision for SSL. Says "YUour router or DNS server has DNS rebinding protection enabled preventing ...." I don't see anything in my router for this. Could it have anything to do with my Dynamic DNS being enabled and using OpenVPN? Its a Netgear R8000 router
24. I had a pair of Archive drives for parity, then aquired a pair of 7200 rpm NAS drives. Moves the Archive into the array and made the NAS drives parity. No noticable difference to me in my use case other than notibly hotter operstion during intensive task like parity check / build etc. Sent from my VS990 using Tapatalk
