unRAID not reachable
I tried before leaving without any problems… I think it is strange that unRAID connect & Unifi tell me the server is online, but I can not access the dashboard. So, I was hoping for some advices to fix this in any way. What a pity I do not have connected it to a JetKVM or Gl.inet Comet.

unRAID not reachable
Hi there, at the moment I am on vacation in a foreign country…. I activated a VPN (Unifi Teleport) from my IOS-Device to my home network to configure my unRAID server. After doing this I tried to connect to the unRAID-dashboard (unraid.local or IP). But, it does not answer my request, it is not reachable. The same with the paperless docker container, which is running on unRAID. Unifi network app tells me the server is online. Even unRAID connect tells me it is online. I am also able to connect to all other devices connected to my home network. I did not set up an SSL/https connection for unRAID connect or ssh by now. But, is there anything I can do to fix this ? I did not find any possibility to restart the server using unRAID connect.

Moving HomeAssistant from Raspberry to unRAID efficiently
Hi there, since a few months my HomeAssistant is running on a Raspberry Pi 4 (8GB RAM). But, since my unRAID-server is running 24/7, I would like to switch HomeAssistant OS from the Raspberry Pi to the server. The „app store“ of unRAID offers a HomeAssistant docker. Is there an easy way to migrate the HA-RPi-settings to the unRAID-docker ? HomeAssistant should ran as energy efficient as possible. So, it should be running on the cache drive (SSD) for not spinning up the hdd-array all the time. Could you tell me which settings I have to configure (docker) to be sure HomeAssistant will not spin up the array ?

License questions & cloud
Hi there, years ago I bought a unRaid Plus license. In the last months I received several mails with offers for upgrading to „unleashed“ or „pro“. I have read the FAQs, but I think it is a bit confusing. Once I have bought the Plus-Version as a lifetime license - no yearly fees, lifetime updates/upgrades. Is there any advantage for me upgrading to unleashed or pro ? Additionally I would like to ask: a Youtuber told me I do not have to take care of backupping my unRaid configuration (including docker etc), because there is an option für an unRaid-cloud, which creates a backup of my system. I was not able to find anything like unRaid cloud. Could you tell me more ?

External docker containers
Thank you. I will copy your lines and paste it to a xml-file. There is a postgresql docker running for paperless-ngx at the moment. So, I think I have to set up another postgresql instance, but just with a different port. Is this all I have to do to have 2 of the same sql databases running at the same time without the risk of collision between them ? There is a video for the Terminus docker: https://youtu.be/29Sj4oE4LwI?si=Mun2SHC95g_Tq9Kz

External docker containers
Hi, Launching docker containers on unRaid is very convenient. But, not all docker containers are available on the app store. I was looking for a container called „terminus (trmnl)“, which was not listed. Is there a official guide for running docker containers not available onhhe app store (https://github.com/usetrmnl/byos_hanami/blob/main/Dockerfile) ?

IP address conflict
Hi, right after starting my unRAID-server my Unifi-network sends me a notifocation about an IP address conflict. Using the client lists of my network I can see 2 different unRAID devices appearing with different MAC-addresses. Both of them are getting the same fixed IP address, although an fixed IP address is set only for one of them. One device is recognized as „unraid“, the other as „proxmox“. Why does unRAID show up twice ? How can I fix that ?

Questions about "drives"
Hi, when building my DIY-Server, I started with 4 HDDs and a Pool Device (Cache). Additionally, I installed an older SSD as unassigned device. I would like to ask some questions about this setup: at the moment some docker containers like plex are running when needed. Where does the system install those "software", to the pool device, the stick or an unassigned device ? Or. where do you recommend installing this ? I installed all of this a long time ago and can not really remember exactly. is there any useful purpose for the unassigned device you could recommend ? configuration right now: hardware:

Optimization for more energy efficiency
Hi there, a long time ago I built a DIY-Server (s. pic), which was running for a few hours when needed. I decided to prepare this server for running 24/7 to deliver services like paperless, plex and some more. So, it needs to get more energy efficient as energy costs are high. All I did so far was to switch "power mode" to "best power efficiency". Without spinning HDDs, the hardware consumes between 23 to 35 Watts. I am looking for some tweets/tipps to get the consumption below this. Perhaps by optimizing it to spin up less drives when accessing or by optimizing CPU settings (BIOS) ? DIY hardware: unRAID infos:

from desktop server to 2U-Rack case
What a pity, unabailable in the european union.

from desktop server to 2U-Rack case
Ah, think, 3-4 drives will be enough. Could you name a specific product from Rosewill?

from desktop server to 2U-Rack case
HI there, years ago I built a server running unRAID ob basis of a desktop case. Currently I am migrating all my network hardware into a 12U-network rack. I would like to move the server hardware to this network rack, but the desktop case is much too big. I´m looking for a 2U-server-rack to move my hardware from the desktop case to the network rack. For this I found a case from InterTech, but I think EUR 350 is much too expensive. I really want to find a sweet-spot for running this hardware in a 2U-server-case with energy efficiency in mind. Could you please take a look into the hardware list & give me a concrete hint for the right server case ?

Transforming desktop server to a 19“ server
It is a mATX mainboard. Up to 4U would be possible. Hard to find out, which case will be energy sufficient (for a home network/office).

Transforming desktop server to a 19“ server
Hi there, I am running a fujitsi-unRaid-Server built in a desktop case for years now. Currently I am building a 19“-server rack. Is there any solution for transferring the whole hardware (Fujitsu mATX-mainboard, desktop-PSU 350W, 4-5 HDDs etc) into a 19“-rack case ? Otherwise I would be looking for an energy sufficient 19“-server. Any solutions for this ?

License questions
Confusing… if I do not need to have more than 6 drives, I do not habe the upgrade to pro license with my legacy plus license…?! So, my plus license offers lifetime updates. I do not see any advantage for upgrading to any other license than my legacy plus… there is no extra feature and I would loose free upgrades.

License questions
Due to the pricing page, „unleashed“-license means, I have to pay a fee yearly for getting updates. But, why should I upgrade. By buying the plus version years ago I should own a license for lifetime upgrades. What, if I stay at the plus license ? Do I receiver updates to all future versions? Why should I upgrade to any other version? All I want is a license with the right to receive all future updates (which I thought I have bought years ago).

License questions
Hi, a few years ago I bought unRAID Plus. Now, unRAID licenses are offered for sale (start, unleashed, lifetime). Thought, by buying unRAID Plus I already own a lifetime license. So, my question is: why shouls I buy a new license ? And, I did not find an upgrade path (in sale) from Plus to Unlimited.

Cache-Disk voll
