  1. Hi All Just after some advice. I have 2 HP N36L and they are both getting close to max space so I am looking to upgrade but I will have to upgrade the parity drive as that is only at 3tb. So do I just upgrade the parity drive and one other or do I take the opportunity to replace the 2 x N36L with a bigger enclosure that can take 8 HD's
  2. Hi There I am running 2 unraid boxes connected to a windows 8.1 PC. A while back after some windows updates and moving to a newer version of unraid i then had the issue where my share access was asking for a username and password. I worked out that it had to be the same account that the windows PC logged in with had to be in the unraid user list. Now the question, is there a way that I don't have to put in a username and password when I want to access my smb shares after the first time I boot my PC? The unraid boxes are on the default domain and the PC is on the standard workgroup if that affects it. Thanks in advance for the advice.
  3. It's a home network so no domain controller. The pc is on workgroup and the unriad is on what ever the default is which I can't remember right know. Only thinking it might be something to do with security on the Windows box with a change From a installed update.
  4. Worked out if I add the username Windows 8 logs in with to unriad then when I go to the smb share and type this user account in it works. Is there a way around this so I don't have to do this every time? Was thinking should I change the Windows 8 domain to the same as the unriad box?
  5. Hi guys Tried both of these solutions but still no joy.
  6. Hi Guys I am sure this is a simple thing. I have 2 unraid boxes running on V6 and both have been running well. After a windows update when I try to access my SMB shares on the box I get a username and password box. I set up no users on the unraid box and left it standard as installed. I am guessing this is a windows update issue but before I go of looking at that I wanted to know if anything I should be doing on the unraid? Cheers
  7. Ah ok will get them and paste them up when i get home. Thanks
  8. Hi there Ok i have 2 HP Microservers running unraid 4.7 connected to a network along with one windows 7 PC. The network is over a GB switch. I have several shares setup on both servers which are setup as network drives on the windows 7 PC. The problem I have is when the drive space across all drives on either unraid box get to around 500gb left I can no longer copy files over to from the PC. What happens is I try to start the copy and windows comes up with the window of calculating time etc... then after a few minutes it tells me the network location is no longer available. The only way around this is for me to copy the files to a external HD and connect it in direct to one of the unraid boxes then telnet into the HP box mount the external HD and copy that way. Any advice you can give would be great? Thanks
