    VPN Provider?

Hi, Thanks for the reply am new to unraid so its a bit of a steep learning curve. So i take it that if the vpn isn't working then you wouldn't be able to download anything from sabnzbvpn? Cheers Steve

    VPN Provider?

Hi mate, you read my mind , i signed up for airvpn today and installed binhex's sabnzbvpn and the installation has gone ok. i installed binhex sonarr as well and routed it threw sabnzbvpn. the only concern i have is that when i open the sab web gui the web address bar says not secure then my ip address and port 8080, but when i click on the spanner icon inside sab and select status then it gives me 2 random ip address for local and public ip, so maybe the not secure in the web browser is wrong?? Cheers Steve
  3. ok thanks mate i'll take a look at it, i am probably overthinking things and making them harder than it needs to be. Just trying to find the simplest solution . Cheers Steve

    VPN Provider?

NordVPN are very good, just wish i knew how to incorporate it into unraid ๐Ÿ™„
  6. Hi, Ive just built my first unraid server and would like to install sab, radarr, sonarr and plex. I would also like to put it all through a VPN, i currently have nord vpn and when using on win 10 its a breeze, you have it auto run and thats it everything else just automatically goes through it. Unfortunately am not having much luck on unraid as it gets confusing with openvpn, privoxy portforwarding duckdns the list continues. Just wondering if it would be easier to get like an Asus 2400 rt-ac85p for about ยฃ80 which has openvpn client on it and just use that as it seems more simple to set up. Just wondered what you guys use? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks Steve
  7. Hi Benson, Yeah i was thinking along the lines of it being to big, Ive just brought a 8tb WD external disk, am just running the WD extended test on the drive through usb to check the drives ok then am going to shuck it and use it as parity drive. The 14tb drive i think am going to put on eBay. Its only a month old and their about ยฃ270 new so hopefully should most of my money back that i paid for it.
  8. Hi, Have decided to change up a couple of things. Have gone for a Fractal Design 7 case and an additional 16GB Memory. Will also re-apply thermal paste as i have ordered some new. Question i have is do i need a graphics card if am only using the server as a plex server and not doing VM's?? Also i brought a 14TB WD elements external drive should i use it just as an external backup or would it be better used as a parity drive?? Thanks Steve Unraid Server 2nd Draft Case โ€“ Fractal Design 7 Mainboard โ€“ Asus Z170M-Plus MATX Board Cpu โ€“ Intel I5 6500 Skylake Socket 1151 LGA @3.2Ghz Cooler โ€“ Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo Cooler Memory โ€“ Corsair 32GB DDR4 Vengeance LPX 2666MHz (1066Mhz) Graphics Card โ€“ EVGA Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 TI 4GB GDDR5 Hardrives โ€“ 2x6tbHDD 1x4tbHDD 1x3tbHDD 240GB Kingston SSD And A SanDisk 256GB M.2 Sata For Caching PSU โ€“ Seasonic EVO 620W Full Modular Power Supply

  10. Hi Hoopster I was thinking about shucking it and using in unraid but i am also thinking of using it to backup my media to the 14tb external drive. my case has 3 drive bays so have a couple of options Option 1 14tb parity drive then 2*6tb HDD for media. Option 2 No parity 2*6tb and 1*4tb for media then use the 14tb external as another backup I only have 5tb of used media at the moment.
  11. Hi, Has anyone tried the external 14tb WD External drives on unraid? Would there be any problem using them? Cheers Steve
  12. Thanks mate, I'll take a look
  13. Hi mate Nice clean set up, what is the new case that you are using. Cheers Steve
  14. Thanks Benson I can always continue to use the hdd connected to the mac for time machine so its not a big deal, would just of been nice to have everything in one place. I will use the 6500 in the build as you suggested may have upgrade the fans as well as they seem a little loud ( stock fans with the Corsair Air 240)
  15. Hi Everyone, Looking to build an Unraid Server utilising the parts from the below PCโ€™s that I have. May also add a 10tb WD Elements drive to the server and additional 16gb DDR4 memory if needed. The Server will be used primarily as a Plex Server and running a few dockers such as Radarr, Sonarr, Sabnzb and maybe a few others as needed. Would also like to backup my Mac to it. Cant see myself running any VMโ€™s, like I said primarily a Plex Server. The Server will live in the media cabinet as there is nowhere else it can go so that it can be directly connected to the router. Is there any parts that you think that I should change over or add to the build please advice. The client will be connected via ethernet and also connected to a Denon 3300W via HDMI Other Equipment used is a Sony 4K TV and 5.1 Surround Speakers. Would be using it for Plex Client, Amazon Prime, Youtube and possible IPTV I am also looking towards getting an Asus Router to add VPN safety. Day to Day I use an Imac.
