ERROR: The filesystem has valuable metadata changes in a log which needs to be replayed. Mount the filesystem to replay the log, and unmount it before re-running xfs_repair. If you are unable to mount the filesystem, then use the -L option to destroy the log and attempt a repair. Note that destroying the log may cause corruption -- please attempt a mount of the filesystem before doing this. Don't know exactly how to proceed to get the filesystem fixed. Alternatively I'm thinking of moving the data of the disk and reformatting the disk in XFS.
  2. Recently added "replaced" a disk in my array and a strange phenomenon occurs; After writing data to the disk, the disk seems to "disappear". Accessing it directly through MC or through" samba, the disk appears unavailable. As such no data can be written anymore. Reboot of the system resolves the issue, until the disk is written to again. Read checks, smart checks do not reveal any errors, it appears as if the disk "unmounts", although in array config it still accessible. Accessing it through unraid management console results in screen below (stiil mounted in array). Anyone any thoughts ? Log registers following error: Sep 28 11:41:49 Tower kernel: XFS (md3): metadata I/O error in "xfs_btree_read_buf_block.constprop.0+0x75/0xc1 [xfs]" at daddr 0xaea86678 len 8 error 74 Sep 28 11:41:49 Tower kernel: XFS (md3): xfs_do_force_shutdown(0x1) called from line 296 of file fs/xfs/xfs_trans_buf.c. 3. Today I ran into a similar issue --> connection refused to webui, while two weeks ago worked flawlessly. Tried force updating etc, without succes. Then I remenbered there were some updates on the NORDVPN software side this week. I checked the servers allowing for openVPN connection, and the server I was using before wasn't in the list anymore. Installed a new openvpn config file (to another server) and docker container runs fine. again. Issue was on the side of NORDVPN in my case.
  4. Tested my sata to usb converter on another machine without issues. I'm a bit clueless here.
  5. Extracted this part out of the hardware section, seems to be no issues with the newly installed controller on unraid. </resources> <node id="usb" class="bus" handle="PCI:0000:03:00.0"> <description>USB controller</description> <product>uPD720202 USB 3.0 Host Controller</product> <vendor>Renesas Technology Corp.</vendor> <physid>0</physid> <businfo>pci@0000:03:00.0</businfo> <version>02</version> <width units="bits">64</width> <clock units="Hz">33000000</clock> <configuration> <setting id="latency" value="0" /> </configuration> <capabilities> <capability id="pm" >Power Management</capability> <capability id="msi" >Message Signalled Interrupts</capability> <capability id="msix" >MSI-X</capability> <capability id="pciexpress" >PCI Express</capability> <capability id="xhci" /> <capability id="cap_list" >PCI capabilities listing</capability> </capabilities> <resources> The disk is connected to the controller through a sata to usb3 converter (also new). I will check the functionality of the converter on another machine first.
  6. Hi, I've installed a usb 3.0 host controller card in the unraid server. I checked the system devices tab and the controller seems to be detected: IOMMU group 11 [1912:0015] 03:00.0 USB controller: Renesas Technology Corp. uPD720202 USB 3.0 Host Controller (rev 02) However if I connect a drive to the usb ports, the drives don't appear in the "unassigned" drives list. Is this normal ? Are only sata drives added to the unassigned drives. Just needing the usb 3.0 ports to preclear drives since no free sata slots anymore in my system. Thanks for the help.
  7. I'm kinda noob inregard to docker and mariadb, but could anyone explain to me briefly what these values mean/represent when setting up the mariadb docker: container value PUID 99 container value PUIG 100
  8. Thats what I did now, but now the system doesn't recognize my license key. Forget what I said. Copied the wrong file to the wrong place. Everything seems to be working real fine now. Thx for your help.
  9. I've followed the procedure today on my unraid 5.05 config, but it doesn't seem to work. I get a problem with the vallidation of the certificate. In short this is the error message I get after using the wget cmd.: 'WARNING cannot verify raw.githubusercontent.com certificate and afterwards I get a HTTP 400 bad request.'" The manual download of the unRAISserver.plg didn't help either. Rebooting the server doesn't result in downloading unraid v6. ??
  10. Hi, Currently running UNRAID as a dedicated server on server grade hardware. As I notice I only make use of the server aprox.; 2 hours daily, I would like to shut it down every day and boot on arrival at home. What do you guys think is this "bad" for the servers integrity or will this cause no harm ? Please stipulate why you consider this bad for the hardware or dat integrity. I would do this until I migrated the unraid server onto a virtual platform. Thx in advance for your reply's
  11. Impressive work Ironicbadger. I find it incredible that your game rig also runs virtualised. Don't you experience frame drops in your virtualised game rig ,when running al those VM's on the same host ? What with image quality on HD movies when running all your VM's at the same time ? Maybe a bit off topic but what interests me also is running a game rig in my server rack (not virtualised though, wouldn't dare it myself). Which hardware did you use (brand and price please) for the HDMI and USB over CAT6 extenders ? I wanna do the same bould would also need some spdif audio extenders, since I wouldn't pass the audio to a TV set.
  12. For anyone's interest: I finally cracked and bought the board myself for testing. The nice socket 1155 board is working fine with unraid 5.0.2 and sports 14 s-ata connections (through the onboard LSI controller). Nice and cheaper alternative to supermicro boards (at least in Europe that is).
  13. [quote author=snowboardjoe link=topic=28870.msg257425#msg257425 date=1376151425 I just upgraded to a faster CPU (FX-4100) and I have a lightly used 145 now to sell in case you're interested. Only used it for a few months. PM me if interested. Did you test the sempron 145 with ecc ram ? Did you unlock the second core ? Even if I am interested in buying your sempron 145 ,since I live in Europe, I guess shipping it would be very expensive.
  14. The issue with some realtek nic's should have been resolved in rc16c according to this topic. http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=27786.0 Problem seems to be resolved for realtek 8111E nic's In my case (realtek 8111B) the problem persists. 'kricker' As I've looked at your previous topic I do have two power states present which are 'freeze' and 'mem' , it's as you described the server seem to wake from s3 mem to freeze state, but never boots the unraid software.
  15. meaning not tested with unraid or not working with unraid ? or if working with ubuntu linux should be working with unraid linux kernel also ?
  16. Hi, Since neither of my actual rigs seem to be supporting either s3 sleep or being able to properly wake up from it afterwards, I've decided to buy new hardware that does fully support these functions. fully. Since I've noticed that even if bios s3 sleep and wol are present doesn't actually mean they will work under unraid I can't rely on mobo specsheets to buy a new board. Therefore I'm asking in the community who has a board that really works fine with s3 and wol under unraid rc16c. I myself have been looking at asus m5a78l-m as a possible candidate, but can anyone confirm that s3 and wol really work with unraid. Any suggestions are welcome even more expensive server grade boards, since I consider this functionality a must have. Thx to all for your reply's.
  17. Ive managed to make some progress with the socket 775 combo. After manually spinning down the disks in unraid and executing the echo -n mem > /sys/power/state command the pc goes to what I think s5 state since no leds are powered on, neither does the nic blink in anyway ( on my windows machines s3 state leaves power button and nic leds blinking. Some tuning in bios revealed that power on after suspend on pci-express device needed to be enabled for the wol magic pakket to be working. This cause the omboard nic seems to be a pci-e device. Wol magic pakket now turns the pc back on (al fans running), but it doesn't seem to boot my unraid array (blank screen with blinking cursor). I don't know what to be looking at next, maybe some other bios setting that prevents booting up properly ?
  18. Thx, Update: On mobo 1 (amd server) only "freeze" and "standby" seem to be listed. Pity since wol can be set in mobo bios and can even be activated in nic bios. Would setting acpi from 2.0 to 3.0 in bios change anything ? If I understand well, If the "mem" option under /sys/power/state isn't present I shouldn't bother trying to get the mobo to s3 sleep state, this incompatibilty could be due to mobo, nic or cpu ? I've included a full syslog on this mobo to see which may cause incomptibility, maybe a nic driver related problem (broadcom nic's) ? On mobo2 (old socket 775) "freeze" and "sleep" are present so this board should be working ? though the echo mem > /sys/power/state returns a blank black screen. The grep command returned the following resulton the amd setup: kernel DMI empty empty/s3992 kernel ACPI exeption AE_NOT_FOUND, while evaluating sleep state The grep command on the intel setup returned the following kernel acpi supports s0 s3 s5 additionally it lists 3 of my hard drives so this board should be working, what could be going wrong ? the echo mem > /sys/power/state returns a blank black screen, server powers completely off, and when restarted a parity check is required. If I can't bring any of the boards that I actually have, to sleep then I will be forced to buy something else, as for now I consider s3 sleep a must have priority for my unraid array since it's really hard to find really power efficient and performant always on hardware So in the worst case scenario can anyone recommend a mobo/cpu combo that actually supports s3 mem sleep with unraid rc16c? syslog-2013-08-10.txt
  19. I really could use some help here, since i'm a complete linux noob Today tried another mobo (h2000m) with a temporary unraid rc16c with s3 sleep with the command, and it gets even worse, when running the echo -n mem > /sys/power/state and now I get the message "file or directory not found". With my socket 775 mobo with realtek nic, the mobo justs shuts down instantly rsulting in parity check afterwards. Installing the simplefeatures package results in pc hanging at boot procedure on acpi process (unraid doesn't boot anymore)
  20. Hi, Does anyone use an AMD sempron in combination with unbuffered ECC memory (or other AMD consumer cpu). ? I know the sempron 140 does, but I'm interested if sempron 145 or sempron 190 also woek with ecc memory. It's hard to find something about those cpu 's and the might be interesting to use for a very low cost build.
  21. Hmm, I've noticed that the nic on the mobo is a realtek (8111 in particular). I've read on the forum that there where some problems with WOL on realtek nic's with unraid, but that these should be resolved in rc16c. Is this the case for all realtek nic's or is the 8111 still known to pose problems ?
  22. Doesn't work, when using the command as proposed, the server just shuts down, no means to wakeit up again (eept power switch of course).
  23. Hi, I want to put my server in S3 sleep state through the user script available in unmemu, but it states /proc/acpi/sleep file missing. Checked my s3 state in bios and is activated. Checked my wake on lan option in bios and is activated. Checked wake on lan option in eth0 config and is set to "g". What am I missing here ?
  24. Yes indeed after updating all installed unmenu features, the 'fake' memory errors all went away. Thx guys.
