Intel Socket 1151 Motherboards with IPMI AND Support for iGPU
Shane01638 replied to Hoopster's topic in Motherboards and CPUs
Has anyone had this issue and solved it with a BIOS update? I'm on L2.10A Jul 24 07:02:25 ZUnraid kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* Unexpected DP dual mode adaptor ID 7f -
Logs keeps filling up and I have to keep deleting syslog.1 and syslog.2. Is there a way to rotate them faster or enlarge the size of where they are stored? I've included the diagnostics file. Thank you zunraid-diagnostics-20230727-0920.zip

Intel Socket 1151 Motherboards with IPMI AND Support for iGPU

I'm still on L2.10A, is there a reason to upgrade to 2.40? I wasn't going to upgrade until the turbo issue was fixed. -
I was wondering if anyone call tell me why my server just crashed? I updated to 6.11.3 yesterday and had no shares access so entered "ntlm auth = yes" in SMB settings which fixed that issue. Then today my server crashed. I couldn't get any text to show on a monitor or IPMI. zunraid-diagnostics-20221113-1413.zip

After 6.11 No longer can access SMB via Network
Shane01638 replied to Uplinkpro's topic in General Support
I haven't been able to try ntlm auth = Yes yet as too many people streaming. Plex is working so no one is complaining except blue iris as it can't move files. I cannot access any shares from any windows pc or my iPhone. Thought I would drop my diag. Edit: ntlm auth = Yes fixed my issues. I can now access all unraid shares from windows and my iPhone as before. zunraid-diagnostics-20221112-1833.zip -
Upgrade to 6.11 results in no boot device

Ran the upgrade again and it worked without issue. Not sure what happened the first time. -
Upgrade to 6.11 results in no boot device
Shane01638 replied to Shane01638's topic in General Support
Ok, I got the backup restored on the same flash drive and everything is working again. Not sure what the issue was. I did see this error Synchronize Cache(10) failed: Result: hostbyte=0x01 driverbyte=0x00 with a prompt to press enter to restart before the flash drive became unresponsive. I will wait a few days before attempting to update again. -
I of course took a backup and have the zip file before upgrade. I haven't researched how to recover that yet, but upgrading to 6.11 from 6.10.1 resulted in no boot device. I've not had an issue before upgrading.

Unable to access the WebUI. Tried restarting and tried Force Update with no success. It is working with Sonarr, Radarr, etc, but cannot access the WebUI. It's been working for a few years now. Intel Socket 1151 Motherboards with IPMI AND Support for iGPU

Those could work, I saw this one too, but can't find it for sale and I don't need that many LAN ports. https://www.asrockrack.com/general/productdetail.asp?Model=E3C246D4M-4L#Specifications -
Intel Socket 1151 Motherboards with IPMI AND Support for iGPU
Shane01638 replied to Hoopster's topic in Motherboards and CPUs
I have the E3C246D4U with the 2288G like you, but would like a similar board, full ATX maybe, with more PCIE slots so I can put in a video card or 2. -

I upgraded 2 hours ago and didn't' have to change anything for Plex to keep using the GPU for transcode. -

1 - How far did you have to go? I also don't have a check-mark under built-in. I'm not sure how to go about: If this doesn't work, add NullEthernet.kext (opens new window) and ssdt-rmne.aml (opens new window) to your EFI and config.plist under Kernel -> Add and ACPI -> Add respectively. The SSDT is precompiled so no extra work needed, reminder compiled files have a .aml extension and .dsl can be seen as source code. 2 - Mine shows as Mac Pro (Late 2013) so I think I'm good there. -

Thank you. I remember seeing something about that now. Just disabled turbo boost like you said. I guess I will need to see what performance consequences that has when I get home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

So my server crashed with a CPU_CATERR noted in IPMI. I was able to reset power remotely to get it back up. Has anyone seen this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Intel Socket 1151 Motherboards with IPMI AND Support for iGPU
Shane01638 replied to Hoopster's topic in Motherboards and CPUs
Thanks, I read your post on this in another thread and am still confused with what this special BIOS got us. I thought we could get video from the vga port and kvm while still using the iGPU for transcoding. -
Intel Socket 1151 Motherboards with IPMI AND Support for iGPU
Shane01638 replied to Hoopster's topic in Motherboards and CPUs
Ok, How do I enable iGPU transcoding while still keeping IPMI? I followed this guide but IPMI KVM shows powered off. Is there a difference between iGPU and i915? -

Ok. The middle PCI slot is disabled but SATA0 is not. It depends what kind of nvme drive you use. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Give me some time, this weekend I'll be able to get all the sata and pci ports filled up and see what doesn't work unless I have time earlier. -

I do have a Samsung 970 Evo Plus on this board. I can do some testing if you'd like. I've got my server up and running and have been moving things over to it. -
SOLVED Unable to mount cache: Unsupported partition layout
Shane01638 replied to Shane01638's topic in General Support
Thanks, I thought I deleted this post as I fixed it. By removing the partition and letting it sit long enough it gave me the option to format at the bottom thus fixing itself. -
tldr; By removing the partition and letting it sit in the array, it finally gave me the option to format at the bottom which fixed itself. So yesterday I finally finished building my new server and loaded up unraid for the first time ever. Right now I have 1 nvme, 2 SSDs, and 3 HDDs. I started with the nvme as the cache drive and 1 hdd as parity and 2 hdds in the pool. Everything was working well, then I decided to add the 2 SSDs to the nvme to create a cache pool. That worked, but then I decided the SSDs might slow down the nvme and it probably wasn't necessary. Where I went wrong was just unassigning the 2 SSDs and leaving the nvme. Unraid did not like this. In the wee hours of the morning I tried various blkdiscard and btrfs device remove commands to no success. I have tried removing the partitions and formatting in xfs and btrfs and no matter what it says Unmountable: Unsupported partition layout and under cache it says unknown partition format. I formatted it as xfs and ran the following which didn't help either. root@ZUnraid:~# xfs_repair -v /dev/nvme0n1 Phase 1 - find and verify superblock... bad primary superblock - bad magic number !!! attempting to find secondary superblock... .found candidate secondary superblock... unable to verify superblock, continuing... .found candidate secondary superblock... unable to verify superblock, continuing... .found candidate secondary superblock... unable to verify superblock, continuing... Sorry, could not find valid secondary superblock Exiting now. I am at a loss now. I don't have another device with an nvme slot to try this drive in. I could make a live cd with some partition tools but I'm at a loss on how to get this added back in. Unassigned devices has no issue formatting the drive or removing the partition so I'm not sure what it's complaining about. Halp!

Intel Socket 1151 Motherboards with IPMI AND Support for iGPU
Shane01638 replied to Hoopster's topic in Motherboards and CPUs
Thanks for this post. I was able to catch the 2288G back in stock on Provantage and order everything up for my first Unraid build which is supposed to be delivered this Friday. I am coming from a dual E5-2680 V2 Windows server with DAS which I will keep around for VMs, labs, etc. but have ran out of physical storage space and using Drivepool in Windows caused me to duplicate everything and it's a bit clunky. Going to be a fun weekend building a new server! https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Shane01638/saved/hxwGqs
