  1. Oh that is so awesome! thank you guys (@Squid thank you X4, this is the fourth time you help me fix an issue!). Squid Is there a similar button for VMs? not that it matters much but if there is id love to know about that too, thank you!
  2. I totally forgot, here it is! I'm running RC2 Also i did allow the parity to continue so whatever was on drive 1) is now canon i guess? tower-diagnostics-20210215-1219.zip (I keep editing trying to erase the extra images and it wont let me, pls ignore the image spam)
  3. Hi everyone, I'm having a series of issues with my server that ended up in a horrible event where I thought I had lost all my data, but it looks like it should be ok (you can read below if you are bored). At any rate my dockers and vms are not showing up in unraid but the files are in my cache drive and the shares point to that: --- --- -- -- -- I had to make that vm to make this post (my old VMs are gone), now that I think about it the mover might replace my old libvirt with this when it runs? Any help would be greatly appreciated it! Oh if you want the long story as how they disappeared: 1) one of the disks in the array goes offline contents are emulated 2) I get a new video card and decide to run 2 vms with individual gpus 3) I fix the issue with drive from problem 1) it comes back online but parity must be rebuilt 4) VM has a fatal error, I stop the parity check, restart the pc. Then I come back to disk from problem 1) shown as green and my parity shown as a red x. Yeah my parity and the drive from problem 1) switched up. I tested a bunch of data from disk 1) it looks ok I guess I will re write the parity as now my parity drive shows as a blue square (a new drive). At any rate I don't think I have any other options other than re writing the parity and making sure the server doesn't restart before the process is done =/.
  4. Hello everyone, I had the great idea of testing if I could passthrough my onboard audio device (b550 mobo ryzen 3600 cpu). Spoiler alert, I can't. Now the server crashes every time the array starts (if VMs are on). I know my OS version is supposed to not start the VMs but it hangs as soon as they are enabled. I read that the files I want are mounted in /etc/libvirt/qemu but I guess that happens if you enable VMs because I don't see that path using komander. I don't have a backup if not I would just go back, at this moment I just want to erase the xmls and get on with my life. Thanks in advance for the help! ---------------------------- Sigh I can't believe I missed this: Problem fixed!
  5. --------------------------------------- Update --------------------------------------------- The array is healthy and back to normal thank you for your help! cleared the errors rewired the pc (even picked other SATA ports just in case) rebuilt the array Everything is back to normal and at healthy temperatures. Next step is to test the old drives that where connected to that port as they also failed and I never thought it could be a port/cable issue. I always assumed it was the drives going bad. Thanks again!
  6. Thank you guys for the information! I will go ahead and change that sata cable (I had another drive there before that also gave me errors I will test said drive in case it was a cable issue causing those errors too, as they are from like 7 years ago). I will back as soon as the drive is back online to update you guys and the post.
  7. Thank you! by the way, is there any place where I can find out what went wrong. I'm still confused by the whole bit. Can I still trust the drive?
  8. Hello everyone, I recently decided to bump my parity drive from 10 to 12tb. This time around I decided to preclear the drive to be safe. The whole process took 4 days and concluded successfully. I then stopped the array > unassigned 10tb > assigned 12tb > started the array. A day and a few hours later the process is complete so I go ahead and use the old 10tb parity to replace a 4tb drive in the array. Same dance as before the process completes everything is ok. A few hours later I come back to my windows VM and its frozen, I look at unraid and the parity is offline and the drive reports a bunch of errors: Restarted the server a couple of times after running smart checks on the drive: I'm not sure where to go from here, do I have to rebuild my parity once again before unraid will use the drive? Thank you. tower-diagnostics-20210109-2021.zip
  9. Hey guys, I just wanted to try my luck again. Is anyone having an issue with slow speeds with airvpn in the delugeVPN container? I'm not even sure how to start testing for the slow speeds.
  10. Watch this video: He uses PIA so its a step by step setup for your needs. As the past messages said there a few servers showing issues with port forwarding. So use the servers they are recommending.
  11. So I tried to setup my windows thin client but I couldn't get it to work with both of the IPs shown by unraid in the docker list window. I really wanted to click that check button. Any way, I figured out that I could access the terminal for a container and I looked up how to list all the udp ports that were listening and it does show 60694.
  12. your ui looks different than mine but I matched your setting (we had different settings). Mine: I'm changing my settings to: I have no way to test the port inside of delugeVPN Results:
  13. Just for fun I tried that file that you asked me to make in QBtorrent and I got the same slow speeds 😮 I will go look for itconfig like you said thanks. Also any chance you could share your delugeVPN container settings (blurring out sensible stuff) I want to compare a working one with mine, maybe I screwed something up at that level? at any rate thank you for your help and time!
  14. Roger! go to https://airvpn.org/generator/ and create a fresh - Netherlands 443 udp start delugeVPN with new config file change setting from -1 Maxium upload speed to 350kbs well bellow my max confirm port 60694 is being used and that it passes TCP check in airvpn.org/ports/ Results: Same slow speeds
  15. Hello there, Let me start by saying thanks for the awesome containers. I'm currently using DelugeVPN but the following is also true for QBtorrentVPN as I tested with both. Issue 1: AirVPN had slow speeds and no uploads, I fixed this with port forwarding. Container can upload now at around my max upload speed! Issue 2: My downloads dont go past 1.2 mbs per second, usually they hover at 500kbs down 500kbs up. Trouble shooting done so far: Try 25 different severs in the 4 continents available in AirVPN - same speeds Try all those servers again but know using ubuntu.iso as a test (lots of seeds) - this takes me to 1.2 max Try downloading ubuntu.iso on my windows vm without VPN/proxy - max 10mbs Now the same torrent inside delugeVPN this time I'm using UDP port 53 (canada) as I read online that changing ports might help - no change max speed is 1.2 average is around 500kbs. Ok so now I'm thinking, it has to be airVPN screwing with my speeds (im a noob), I decide to test this theory I'm going to install Eddie and connect to the vpn on my windows machine, forward the same port as I do in delugeVPN and see what happens - oh hey connecting to the same Canadian point yields faster speeds. Conclusion: Can I please have some help making my VPN container go faster please? My setup in step #5 goes fast even with a random port (I know this because I tested port 60694 in the /ports/ section of airvpn and the check failed yet the speed is amazing, note that the port test passes when I'm using delugeVPN and I test the port). At any rate I'm not sure where I messed up here. update 1: I was reading again (when will I learn?) and I found that maybe switching to ssl would fix my issues (though in retrospect my issues not my isp so I don't think this will fix the issue) anyway I tried to use the .ovpn file but the container refused to start with error along the lines of I cant bind to 127.0.0.1:1443 although the ssl port i picked was 53). Again i don't think this is really the path to follow to fix my issue. update 2: I figured i should see if my container is the issue I turned off the vpn and the speeds are just like my windows vm so that is not the issue either I think: I tried torrents for archive.org with the same results vpn+container = 1/10th the speed. update 3: So I was thinking maybe I'm not getting an error but I'm sure as hell getting warnings maybe one of them holds the key to my poor speeds? I get this same error every time I use my udp config files (which again are the only ones that actually run) maybe they mean something to you guys? update 4: changing the udp port to say 53 - this didn't make a difference makes sense no isp throttling but hey I gotta keep testing stuff. update 5: tcp? why not lets try that! - this was slower than UDP it usually hovered aorund 400kbs. TL;DR: I've tried a lot of things to improve the speed of my binhexVPN container but I'm unable to match the speeds I get inside of my windows vm when connected to the same server - Canada Lacerta - upd - 443 (yes I did keep testing this setup with other servers with the same results).
  16. Hello @Skitals, I have the same issue as the person you quoted. As you mentioned our AMD boards have a single vendorID for all the usb controllers =(. I installed VFIO-PCI Config and I use it to pass my pci drive (it works great!). But when I try to use for my audio device the computer hangs, I believe it is hanging because its grabbing all the usb controllers =/. These are my selections: My server also hangs if I try to append pcie_no_flr=1022:1485,1022:149c vfio-pci.ids=1022:1485,1022:149c as it makes my unraid usb drive unmount during boot, making it unusable. I feel the same thing happens when I ty to pass 0b:00.* devices =/. I also tried just doing it via the XML: <devices> <emulator>/usr/local/sbin/qemu</emulator> <disk type='file' device='disk'> <driver name='qemu' type='raw' cache='writeback'/> <source file='/mnt/user/isos/spaces_win_clover.img'/> <target dev='hdc' bus='virtio'/> <boot order='1'/> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x05' function='0x0'/> </disk> <disk type='file' device='cdrom'> <driver name='qemu' type='raw'/> <source file='/mnt/user/isos/virtio-win-0.1.173-2.iso'/> <target dev='hdb' bus='sata'/> <readonly/> <address type='drive' controller='0' bus='0' target='0' unit='1'/> </disk> <controller type='pci' index='0' model='pci-root'/> <controller type='sata' index='0'> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x03' function='0x0'/> </controller> <controller type='virtio-serial' index='0'> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x04' function='0x0'/> </controller> <controller type='usb' index='0' model='ich9-ehci1'> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x07' function='0x7'/> </controller> <controller type='usb' index='0' model='ich9-uhci1'> <master startport='0'/> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x07' function='0x0' multifunction='on'/> </controller> <controller type='usb' index='0' model='ich9-uhci2'> <master startport='2'/> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x07' function='0x1'/> </controller> <controller type='usb' index='0' model='ich9-uhci3'> <master startport='4'/> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x07' function='0x2'/> </controller> <interface type='bridge'> <mac address='xx:54:xx:6f:xx:xx'/> <source bridge='br0'/> <model type='virtio'/> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x02' function='0x0'/> </interface> <serial type='pty'> <target type='isa-serial' port='0'> <model name='isa-serial'/> </target> </serial> <console type='pty'> <target type='serial' port='0'/> </console> <channel type='unix'> <target type='virtio' name='org.qemu.guest_agent.0'/> <address type='virtio-serial' controller='0' bus='0' port='1'/> </channel> <input type='mouse' bus='ps2'/> <input type='keyboard' bus='ps2'/> <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes'> <driver name='vfio'/> <source> <address domain='0x0000' bus='0x09' slot='0x00' function='0x0'/> </source> <rom file='/mnt/user/isos/zotak-1070.rom'/> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x06' function='0x0' multifunction='on'/> </hostdev> <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes'> <driver name='vfio'/> <source> <address domain='0x0000' bus='0x09' slot='0x00' function='0x1'/> </source> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x06' function='0x1'/> </hostdev> <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes'> <driver name='vfio'/> <source> <address domain='0x0000' bus='0x03' slot='0x00' function='0x0'/> </source> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x09' function='0x0'/> </hostdev> <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes'> <driver name='vfio'/> <source> <address domain='0x0000' bus='0x04' slot='0x00' function='0x0'/> </source> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x0a' function='0x0'/> </hostdev> <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes'> <driver name='vfio'/> <source> <address domain='0x0000' bus='0x0b' slot='0x00' function='0x0'/> </source> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x0b' function='0x0' multifunction='on'/> </hostdev> <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes'> <driver name='vfio'/> <source> <address domain='0x0000' bus='0x0b' slot='0x00' function='0x1'/> </source> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x0c' function='0x0'/> </hostdev> <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes'> <driver name='vfio'/> <source> <address domain='0x0000' bus='0x0b' slot='0x00' function='0x3'/> </source> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x0d' function='0x0'/> </hostdev> <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes'> <driver name='vfio'/> <source> <address domain='0x0000' bus='0x0b' slot='0x00' function='0x4'/> </source> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x0e' function='0x0'/> </hostdev> <memballoon model='none'/> </devices> With and without multifunction='on' they both un mount my unraid drive.
  17. @mattz Thank you for your reply. Since I wrote this message I have tried a ton of things to get this to work, out of desperation i went back and tried all of those things once again! I did learn a few things so it is not all wasted, but I still haven't achieved a working solution (I did have a mobo brick it self via wifi update, that was cool lol and apparently also common!). In several occasions I got all the devices installed with their drivers but the computer always ended up freezing and refused to reboot (displaying a blue screen with a kernel security error). It turns out I can't pass any of the usb hubs to my VM, they appear to share an ID so regardless of what usb hub I pass as soon as one is passed unraid is no longer able to access the unraid USB. As I write this I'm thinking i should go change the groupings in the VM setting to see if that gives them different ids. At any rate I'm back from trying beta .22 .23 .24 with regular and custom kernels. I'm now on the stable branch with a custom kernel and the following flags: label Unraid OS menu default kernel /bzimage append pcie_no_flr=1022:1487,144d:a808,8086:2526 vfio-pci.ids=1022:1487,144d:a808,8086:2526 initrd=/bzroot This is how my current VM looks: I've put my video card and its sound card on the same buss in the xml like so: <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes'> <driver name='vfio'/> <source> <address domain='0x0000' bus='0x09' slot='0x00' function='0x0'/> </source> <rom file='/mnt/user/isos/zotak-1070.rom'/> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x06' function='0x0' multifunction='on'/> </hostdev> <hostdev mode='subsystem' type='pci' managed='yes'> <driver name='vfio'/> <source> <address domain='0x0000' bus='0x09' slot='0x00' function='0x1'/> </source> <address type='pci' domain='0x0000' bus='0x00' slot='0x06' function='0x1'/> </hostdev> Right now I'm stuck with error 43, although I've passed this card to 20+ different VMs with this bios and this xml without issues (passing the video card is the only thing that always worked and now it doesn't lol). So I'm some how worse off than a week ago. --------------------- Update #1: I don't like this at all but the fix to my error 43 was disabling the UEFI boot... that makes a lot of sense to me. I will attempt to pass audio now, giving up on the usb hubs for now as changing the grouping method didn't change the "1022:149c" id for all of my usb hubs =/. Update #2: I'm unable to install drivers for the sound device I passed through, it appears to be working ok with the generic windows driver at the moment. I will start testing some games to see if this try doesn't crash. Oh I was going to pass group 39 but that is the usb hub with the same vendor id as group 31. As I type this I will go see if I can find a fix for passing same vendorID devices and ductape one more thing to this vm!
  18. Does anyone know when the next release is? I've used the kernel that was linked by another member here and that allowed me to finally pass my audio card ( kernel + pcie_no_flr=1022:1487 because pcie_no_flr=1022:149c,1022:1487 crashes the system ). But trying to pass both the audio card and the usb controller crashes unRaid (I'm done testing random things I've rebooted my poor server out of more than 20 unRaid hangups, I'm going to kill my array if I keep this up. I just bought my own copy of unraid 3 days ago, I love it for dockers and arrays but VMs have been an absolute nightmare.
  19. Thank you for the file! Passing the sound kept crashing my server but after adding your modified files to my usb and the pcie_no_flr to flash settings got my sound working! I'm having some issues passing a single usb hub, passing it to the windows 10 vm results in a unraid crash so I'm forced to pass the keyboard and mouse connected to it instead. I figured I could just append the id like so: IOMMU group 41: [1022:149c] 0b:00.3 USB controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] Matisse USB 3.0 Host Controller IOMMU group 42: [1022:1487] 0b:00.4 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD] Starship/Matisse HD Audio Controller append pcie_acs_override=downstream pcie_no_flr=1022:1487,1022:149c initrd=/bzroot But my guess didn't pan out, I still cant pass that usb hub. I'm on hour 30+ of trying to build this machine so I'm going to to bed, thank you all for your help I'm almost there this is literally the last thing I need to pass before I can go work on the dockers :).
