  1. Does anyone have any advice on why my system keeps crashing with rsyslogd write errors. The server will be running fine and then suddenly the log is filled with the below error. What is odd is the log is only 200kb which is very small. Nov 12 01:01:36 Backups rsyslogd: file '/var/log/syslog'[4] write error - see https://www.rsyslog.com/solving-rsyslog-write-errors/ for help OS error: No space left on device [v8.1908.0 try https://www.rsyslog.com/e/2027 ] Nov 12 01:01:36 Backups rsyslogd: action 'action-0-builtin:omfile' (module 'builtin:omfile') message lost, could not be processed. Check for additional error messages before this one. [v8.1908.0 try https://www.rsyslog.com/e/2027 ] The system is a Intel i7-9700 CPU with 16Gb memory. 2 6TB parity drives 4 drives (6Tb, 6Tb, 4Tb, 3Tb) = 19Tb. 11.8Tb used, 7.16Tb free. 1 cache (Samsung 850_Evo SSD) 1 Flash (32Gb - recently replaced) There are no dockers or VM's. I only have 3 windows/samba shared folders. I've scanned all the drives for errors and all are good. If I reboot the server, it'll run fine for a while. It's however inevitable that the above will happen. Any help will be appreciated Thank you! backups-diagnostics-20201112-1043.zip
  2. I upgraded from V6.7.2 to v6.8.3 and ever since, the unraid server will crash due to syslog write errors. The logfile is flooded by the log rsyslogd: file '/var/log/syslog'[4] write error - see https://www.rsyslog.com/solving-rsyslog-write-errors/ for help OS error: No space left on device [v8.1908.0 try https://www.rsyslog.com/e/2027 ] What is odd is that neither of my drives/cache/flash/memory are even close to being full. The log file is only a couple of kb in size and shows as 1%. I have no VM's or docker's running. Sometime the server will run for days without problems, then sometime it's just minutes before it crashes. Any idea's on how to fix this? backups-syslog-20201020-0905.zip
  3. I'm still struggling with my shares disappearing a day or so after the system reboots. The logs keep showing the error: " rsyslogd: file '/var/log/syslog'[4] write error - see https://www.rsyslog.com/solving-rsyslog-write-errors/ for help OS error: No space left on device [v8.1908.0 try https://www.rsyslog.com/e/2027 ]". The total log file is 27kb and the dashboard shows the log is 1% of the memory. Neither the memory, the flash drive or any of the disks are full. So not sure why the error keeps coming up. I don't have the docker or any VM's running. What is also odd is I have two almost identical systems - the one is running perfectly, and the one keeps giving this error. The system was also running for more than a year on V6.7.2 without issue. It's only after updating to V6.8.3 that this issue appeared. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you. backups-syslog-20201012-1359.zip
  4. So it took longer for the error to occur this time, but same issue. I can see the PC on the network, but cant access the shares. I've attached the diagnostics report. Thank you! backups-diagnostics-20200807-1905.zip
  5. I left the system running and it stopped working again. This time, the following error occured: Warning: shell_exec(): Unable to execute 'logger error: '/webGui/include/DashUpdate.php;: ininitialized csrf_token' in /user/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/include/local_prepend.php on line 18 I scanned the USB drive and no errors found. I'll try scan all the drives, but that may take a while. backups-diagnostics-20200805-1432.zip
  6. I was running V6.7.2 for a long time without any issues. I upgraded to V6.8.3 earlier this year and all seemed ok until a short while ago. Suddenly my user shares would disappear after a day or so. Windows will still show the shares, but will display the error that about permissions. When I log into Unraid, it doesn't show any user shares, the list is blank. If i reboot, then all is back to normal again. The shares are shown in Unraid and are accessible from Windows. Why do they go missing? I can't see anything in the log.
