Google can help you identify more capabilities. Minor Rant I think MC should still be part of the basic Unraid install and not an part of a plugin install. As I am still on Unraid 5 and not 6, I can only go on what I have read in the forums. If it has been put back into Unraid, the my apologizes to LT.
  2. Stay with the larger size. What you want is a quality flash drive. I use a 16Gb SanDisk Cruzer Fit.
  3. You might have to use something like this. Use one PWM fan to drive multiple fans. 4. NewEgg has the iStarUSA BPN-DE340SS-BLACK 4in3 on shell shocker now for $39.99 with $20 rebate. Limit 3. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816215244
  5. Sarcasm. But it is what it really is.
  6. There have been several updates lately. You also have to remember to change the the moniker from Plex pass member to what it really is, beta plus tester. Yes I have lifetime Plex pass. Well worth what I spent.
  7. You may want to read through this thread: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=12405.0 Just use the c-clamp. Nevermind on the harbor freight as I see you are in the UK. If you live in the US and are close to a Harbor Freight, get one of these for $5.99: http://www.harborfreight.com/8-deep-throat-c-clamp.html. I have the 12 inch and it is a little over-sized. The 8in would probably have worked. The issue I have with a dremel is all of those metal is all the metal "dust". Seriously, 20-30 minutes and your done. You only need to bend the tabs on the 5in3s. Also you may want to test it, but I had read that you only have to bend the two of the sets of tabs for each 5in3. For example looking below, a 5in3 uses 3 of the 5.25" slots. You would leave tabs at position 1 alone and and only bend 2 and 3. When I move into my Antec 1200 case I am going to try it. Top of case 3 2 1 3 2 1 3 2 1 Bottom of case I have the Norco SS-500 5in3. They work fine but do run hot if you load them up with the higher capacity drives. I originally put quite fans in mine, but am going to swap them out for higher capacity fans at a slight increase in noise. If I was building my system today, I would use the iStarUSA BPN-DE350SS. A friend of mine built his system with the 4in3s and loves them. They don't use a caddy. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA5TY20D8534
  8. Anyway to make this dynamic find the first and last disks in the system?
  9. Purchase a new key or move all you drives into the new system. Then upgrade the drives in place to the new drives.
  10. @finchyboyz While Im not sure what the issue is, I run Unraid V5, but with the stock gui. I use an older version of the plugin, Plexmediaserver Plugin_Ver_2015_05_03_1 to be precise. You might want to give this version a try. Plexmediaserver_Plugin_Ver_2015_05_03_1.zip

    Molex PSU

While adapter cables will work, I second the motion of the modular PS solution.
  12. @opentoe Bestbuy has the Google Nexus Player currently for $49.99. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/google-nexus-player-streaming-media-console-black/2445015.p?id=1219542308629&skuId=2445015
  13. I have two Fire TVs and they work fine. I have the new plex interface on them now. I purchased them before the Nexus was out. My kid has a Nexus player and it works well also. It has a limitation that it is wireless only. He also has kodi on it and is fine. I purchased a Roku 3 for my mom last year and used it this summer when I went to visit. I prefer either the Fire of Nexus device. Edit: The downside of the Fire TV devices are that they tied so heavily into the Amazon ecosystem. I only use them for Netflix and my plex client. and knew basically about the limitations going in mostly. What I did not really realize was the plex app on amazon is not updated at the same time as the one on the play store. They finally updated it, but it took a while. I never bothered, but I believe you could side-load the play store version. But I want the launch icon on the main screen without messing with behind the scenes trickery. WAF approval factor was key.
  14. @lr5v, did you perchance enable secure access to your server when when it was added to plex. I am not at home now, so do not have the address you need to use. A side question, how did you install plex. Unless you used PhaZes plugin It might be better to start over. Then either use PhaZes plugin or go straight to a docker if you are on v6. I use his plugin on Unraid v5 and it works fine for me.
  15. @GoChris, Why dont you just use the procedure provided by LT and use the rsync command to move all of the drive contents. While unbalance has its place, I would think a straight move over everything would be better. http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Upgrading_to_UnRAID_v6#Converting_Drives_from_ReiserFS_to_XFS
  16. @finchyboyz Make sure you removed the files(s) that you were using to do the install previously. Download and install PhaZes plugin per his instructions. From the first post in this thread. Usage (Unraid 5): - Place .PLG file in /config/plugins/ folder on your USB stick - Reboot OR run installplg /boot/config/plugins/pluginname.plg from prompt on the server - Go to the Unraid Settings page, click on the app icon, setup the way you want, and hit apply. Go to the plugins tab and show a screen capture of the plex configuration page. - if Plex won't start, but installs fine, the problem is likely GCC and GCC-G++ packages installed by unmenu. They break the ability to set the locale which Plex needs to have set. These files aren't needed and are safe to remove unless you have any apps that compile from source.
  17. The SUPERMICRO MBD-X10SL7-F-O has the extra 8 SATA ports on the board and is slightly cheaper overall than the combo SUPERMICRO MBD-X10SLM+-F-O and AOC-SAS2LP-MV8. Either one would be a fine board. This here is why I like the X10SL7. It is the same board LT uses in their server and does development on. http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/UnRAID_Manual_6#Lime_Technology_Tested_Components I did not see your breakout cables listed for the AOC-SAS2LP-MV8. Make sure you get the correct ones. Does your case have the SAS ports on the cages or the normal sata ports. I believe the 4220 is available in both versions. As you are investing the amount of money you are, I would suggest you add the extra controller now. That way your system is complete and built. Also, make sure you test every slot in the 4220. You want to find any bad slots now. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G36F9435&cm_re=X10SL7-F-_-13-182-821-_-Product
  18. One thing I see is the MB MBD-X10SRL-F is specked for a E5 series proc. From the manual. "Single Intel® E5-2600/1600 Series processor in an LGA2011 R3 socket." Now that I see uldise's post, if you go with the X10SAT, I would drop the video card and go with a processor with the graphics capable like the E3-1265L v3. This is assuming that you only wanted the video card for local system use and not video pass through.
  19. I would keep the Norco 4220. Cages are great. As far as the motherboard, if you can afford it, I would go with the Supermicro X10SL7-F, which I understand is used by LT in their server. Maybe a Xeon E3-1276 v3 and 16Gb, 2x8Gb, of ECC memory. That way you can expand to 32Gb if you ever need to. The mother board will give you 14 SATA ports day one. You could then add a SAS expander for another 8 when needed. You should be able to cram a couple of SSDs in the case if you wanted to to use the extra 2 sata ports. http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/xeon/c220/x10sl7-f.cfm http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117317
  20. Telnet in and use midnight commander. When you login issue the command mc. http://www.tldp.org/LDP/LG/issue23/wkndmech_dec97/mc_article.html
  21. I do not use them. I agree with garrycase. I do not want all of my drives in a share to spin up when I access a share. I go through and clean my system to so that any files in a subdirectory in a top level share are on the same disk. The more drives that spin up, the more heat I have in the room.
  22. I would do one or the other, but not both at the same time to not introduce multiple variables at once. If it were me, I would stay on the release you are on, add the controller and your drive. Make sure everything works correctly and then consider upgrading. My reasoning is that the card has been widely used under V5.x and its characteristics are known as well as how to troubleshoot it. If you then want to go to V6, you know your current hardware is working.
  23. Also, try a different web browser. Try and clear the cache on your existing browser.
  24. This all assuming X-Case is not going to carry them anymore. You could always alternate red/blue caddies to give you a repeating pattern. Or do a Red-Blue-Blue-Red, or reverse it. That would look ok I would think. That is assuming they are the same unit with only a different plastic insert in the handle. If X-Case is not going to sell them any more, then you could contact norcotek and ask them if you could purchase two (2) with the red handles. Alternatively you could purchase 10 caddies with the blue handle plus two SS-500's. If you are going to that expense, it might be worth it to just buy a 4220 and move your server into it if you have the room. Then you could sell your existing caddies to recoup some of the cost. Your post triggered me to order my 4th SS-500. I had purchased an Antec 1200 to move into but have not moved into it yet.
