  1. Docker is not a good option because it won't work unless the array is started. Encrypted arrays won't autostart. So I would have no way to access server if it reboots...
  2. Guys any chance I can have some help so my WEBUI won’t crash all the time? I read some people had a similar issue and downgraded to a previous release if Tailscale. How can I try to downgrade to a different version? This is the first time I’m using it.
  3. Anyone know if it’s possible to cache this to an SSD instead of RAM? That would be amazing as I have a rather large SSD drive currently. I read through most of the the thread and f Dr it don’t see this was possible? Unless I missed it?
  4. In terms of setting up plex itself. Am I right that it would be set not to scan library periodically but to only scan when a change is detected, and partial scan of that changed directory? Will plex be able to detect the change? Also, does this mean that I won't be able to have plex add thumbnails? Because it will scan the entire library that would be in the cloud and would get API banned for scanning on all of the files? I currently like to have the thumbnails, and detecting intros etc... Also, How would I check what you mentioned about? I'm a basically a newbie when it comes to dockers. I understnad how path mappings work but I just followed spaceinvaderone's videos when I originally set them up. I use binhex for the Arrs... do you happen to know if it will work by remove the /data folder like you mentioned? I'm assuming just mapping the /data to whatever mergerfs mount I need to isn't the same same correct? Again thank you soo much for all this. I appreciate you! I'm actually thinking of building an itx build just for this with 2 18tb drives mirrored to store irreplaceable files and just consolidate my server! Just want to make sure I understand everything and will be able to do it before I start to spend the $ on new hardware, etc...
  5. I never touched it. I was just streaming something, and it all of a sudden stopped. When I logged in, to see what happened, the array was stopped and it said it could not autostart (my drives are encrypted so I had to enter the passcode to start the array). So something is causing it to shut down and restart?
  6. Hi Folks, I need some help. I've had unraid for many years and never had this happen. Now this has happened 2x/ already in the past 30 days. I thought it was just a fluke the first time it happened, but it just happened again and I have no idea what's causing it? Can someone help me figure out what's happening? Unraid 10.6.3 I'm attaching the diagnostics. Thank you! sabertooth-diagnostics-20220903-1137.zip
  7. Thank you! So I don't plan to do team drives or those SA, I just want to keep things as simple as possible. Dont want to spend time learning about them as that's when I see people post issues, it's with the service accounts (not even sure what they are so don't want to get into it). I'm okay with the 750GB/day and things just taking longer.. Edu account is unlimited still for a while. I just don't know if I can make a clinet ID since I'm not the admin for it? I would not be using my personal gdrive for this project... -I think I'm just going to use unraid for this. I need 2 3.5" drives though to store family videos, and photos. The SFF Dell is too small for that. Reason for 2 drives is to have them RAID mirror just in case... # Bandwidth limits: specify the desired bandwidth in kBytes/s, or use a suffix b|k|M|G. Or 'off' or '0' for unlimited. The script uses --drive-stop-on-upload-limit which stops the script if the 750GB/day limit is achieved, so you no longer have to slow 'trickle' your files all day if you don't want to e.g. could just do an unlimited job overnight. BWLimit1Time="01:00" BWLimit1="off" BWLimit2Time="08:00" BWLimit2="15M" BWLimit3Time="16:00" BWLimit3="12M" This is the part I didn't understand. Do I just erase what I dont need? So if I want to upload at 200Mbps until the 750GB limit is reached. How would I change the above? Do I just erase what I don't need? BWLimit1=20M --drive-stop-on-upload-limit and erase all the other lines? Also still confused about the paths. So for plex I erase the /tv and /movies and add a path /user and point to /mnt/user/mount_unionfs/gdrive and then just select the individual movies or shows subfolder within the plex program itself when I add libraries correct? Now for say Radarr. The /data folder (where downloads go) and the /media where they get moved to. Do I just have /data point to /mnt/user/mount_unionfs/gdrive and /media point to /mnt/user/mount_unionfs/gdrive/Movies? like that? Thank you again sooo much!
  8. wow, my mind is still blown with all this lol. I think Im just going to stick to unraid, it's too confusing too learn the paths on synology, and I dont want to spend all that time learning and then with no place to troubleshoot.. Quick question, will this work with an education account? I currently use it for backup with rclone, but I havent seen anyone use it with streaming like this. Will this work, or do some more features need to be enabled on an enterprise gdrive that I can't use on an edu account? And lastly, if I name my folders the same way it's basically just a copy/paste of the scripts, correct? Can someone please post a screen shot of the paths to set in *.arr apps and sab? I remember having an issue years ago, and followed spaceinvader one's guide, but now since the paths are going to be different, I want to make sure the apps all know where to look... *edit* Also, can someone explain the BW limits, and the time how that works? I don't understnad it exactly. Like if I don't want to have it time based, but just upload at 20MB/s until 750GB is reached starting at say 2AM. How would I set the parameters?
  9. Hi folks, So I've had unraid for many years and never really utilized this until I saw spaceinvader's video on limiting shares to specific disks so that other drives can stay spun down.. I have a question though. I already have data on the share. If I change that share now to "include disk 14" does that mean that all data written to the share from this point forward will be going to that disk? Or is it going to screw things up with existing files for that share that have already been spread across different drives?
  10. Right, well that's what I was orignally asking about... Aren't there risks to another usb flash drive diying being part of the array? Which will then cause the entire unraid to crash at some point?
  11. Quick question before I dive in. Is there any way to have tailscale working on unraid natively, like a plugin? So that the array does not have to be spun up to be able to connect? I'm asking because if the array powers down or stops for some reason, then dockers don't run until the array starts which it may not. Which means I'll still have to have a VPN and forward ports to be able to troubleshoot (this is for a remote unraid server). But if it's native and doesn't require array to start it would be much more useful... Any thoughts?
  12. Sorry I’m confused. to spin up the VM a drive has to be assigned on the array, no? A drive that I won’t need and has no purpose…. I currently have a cache SSD drive and plan to get another one to have the as RAID 1… the VM resides on the cache SSD thecissue isn’t spinning down… it’s what should I do not to waste a hard drive that’s sole purpose would be to start the array… I want to have all drives passed through to XPEnology VM to manage…
  13. Hi folks, So I love unraid and have 2 servers and one for the remote server. I want to run Xpenology on the remote backup server for it's snapshots, and the ability to mix and match disks. I use an old X8SIL board with an Xeon X3470 and it's running great, the only purpose is backups... Now my question is this. I want to only run Xpenology on here (I got the VM working). But the VMs aren't able to start unless an array is started... Does this mean that I have to wake an entire disk just to get an "array" of 1 disk to get the VM to load? Is there a workaround for this? I read that someone reocmmended using a dummy usb drive but that was for short term testing. I don't want to have the USB flash drive that's part of the array to "die" at some point. Any suggestions for this? Would appreciate your help. I looked at Vsphere but it doesn't support this old processor, and I have it all together in a nice Node 804 with 12 drives. I don't want to start upgrading it when it servers my purpose. Thank you in advance
  14. oh boy, I'm on hour 4. So I found a youtube video and tutorial on how to get it working on vmware, and tried to follow along I did the following Model DS3622xs+ ./rploader.sh satamap broadwellnk-7.0.1-42218 I downlaoded the .pat DSM_DS3622xs+_42661.pat synology finder, found it, I got the countdown from 10 minutes... Then it just goes all the way down to zero, and says something is wrong and I reconnect again, and it just does it again. Can you please help me with this step? I'm so close!
  15. wow, i didnt realize that it was actually a compressed file, I thought github just adds that extension. I'm doing this all remotely through VPN, but now got redpill loaded! On to the next step... Can you tell me which version I should get for my processor? I saw you answered someone that some config has to be processor dependant... Also, if I want to pass through entire individual drives, do I just keep adding, add virtual disk, and simply select the entire hard drive as vdisk? I noticed that drives that I don't have in the array don't even show up thouugh
  16. WOW, thank you sooo much! It worked! I had to update the date of the battery but it worked. You guys are THE BEST. I love this community! Thank again!
  17. Oh wow. Thank you so much folks! yes, I just went ahead and popped it in. Anyone know if this could be done in Linux? I have this installed in a remote location and it would be difficult. Is there anything in Unraid that can do this? I guess worst case is I could look into installed a windows VM? But then how would I pass it through to the windows machine?
  18. Hi folks, I need some help, not sure if this is the correct subforum, please feel free to move it is not. I started having an issue with my remote unraid server reporting that the APC1001 Pro (600W) backup power supply is always on "low battery status" I'm not sure when this issue started happening. I have never had an issue with 3 units over may years that I've owned this exact APC backup. I did purchased it used, and originally bought a new battery for it. When I started seeing unraid report low battery and a runtime of only 1-2 minutes, I bought a new battery, and I'm having the same issue! This does not happen with my main unraid server where I have had a new battery for 2-3 years even. Any idea of what is causing this? Could it be the actual unit breaking, as opposed to a battery? Remember, this is a brand new battery that I just installed into it. I would imagine if the unit was going dead it would simply not power on instead of reporting low battery even though the battery is brand new and the other battery in it was only 1 year old. The load on the UPS is only 33% ~200 watts. Any ideas? POWER UPS Load: 25.0 % - 150 Watts UPS status:Online LOWBATT Battery charge:100.0 Percent Runtime left:1.9 Minutes Nominal power:600 Watts
  19. Thanks JorgeB, sorry I forgot. Here it is. I just can't figure out what's happening. These diagnostic are upon reboot, and before the array start sabertooth-diagnostics-20210916-0016.zip
  20. Hi folks, Need some help. I've been trying to get to the bottom of an issue that I noticed my CPU load seems to always be running high. I have an i5-8400, I am on unraid 6.9.2 So I just stopped the array and rebooted the server. I'm at the screen where I need to enter array encryption password for the drives, so the array is not started no VMs not on, etc.. And my CPU load is jumping from 7%-13 with nothing going on! It is not going below 7% Anyone have an idea what's happening? I do not use wireguard on the server Thanks so much!
  21. Hi folks, Everything has been working flawlessly! Thank you @SpaceInvaderOne! Do you folks know if it is possible to get this running on a raspberry pi instead? I already have an rpi running a home vpn, and pi-hole, it would be great if I could also offload this to the rpi, but I believe it is not ubuntu... Will the same commands and instructions still work on the rpi? Any suggestions?
  22. Thanks Kenji, I thought this would make things easier. I think it was your posts that I came across a few years back on how to set up keys, and I remember it was not a simple thing to do, or even set up the remote SSH in the first place. I thought this would have made things easier in the update
