  1. I can boot into unraid, but GUI mode or via the network the GUI won't come up. Trying to figure out how to debug this. This is a rebuilt server (same array, same flash, new cache drive). All drives appear to show and I can SSH into it, I just can't view the UI at all. Any thoughts or tips or how to even get logs via ssh would be much appreciated
  2. thanks, the EFI folder did the trick. Unfortunately now the GUI wont boot, but I can boot not into GUI mode. Could this have anything to do with having a GPU before and not having one now? I switched to an i7-11700K, so I don't need my 1660Ti anymore. Trying to figure out what would cause this.
  3. So I am rebuilding my server and today was the day! Machine build went fine, but I can't get it to boot from my USB. All parts were replaced except pool drives and flash drive. Cache became an NVMe drive. Motherboard is a z590. I have, as far as I can tell disabled Secure Boot. Legacy mode is on. It just does the standard _ in the corner when trying to boot then returns to the boot menu. I assume its trying to boot another drive but I have no idea how to solve that, since the only drive listed in boot is the flash. I do have a PCie LSI card (this is a new type of hardware for me) and I do have an NVMe drive (this is a new type of hardware for me). For the life of me I am stuck and have no idea how to solve it.
  4. Thank you for the full response, it is appreciated. When I stopped using CrashPlan I was uploading about 25TB. For awhile, I maintained the original CrashPlan plugin here (long before docker) haha. They never cared or complained but the RAM usage was stupid and the service was trash. Sounds like that hasn't changed much. Anything of "value" to me is backed up offsite to my parents house on portable drives (photography/music). Everything else is just parity at this point. So although I don't need a backup, it would be nice if catastrophe happened. Probably not nice enough to pay backblaze $400 a month or to spend about $3K in a backup system either though. I might look at google drive as well, as they are unlimited for a small enough business fee.
  5. ok, so effectively a clean docker would have that folder empty? Meaning I can stop docker and delete those folders?
  6. I believe back in the original release of docker you could add a list of paths to repos, which is what I assume the screen shot is showing for me (like the user-template list). I was just wondering what are their by default if you setup a clean unraid server today? I don't have anything installed from any of the above folders so to clean up the UI drop down I wanted to know what is in the list by default.
  7. popping in to see if crashplan is worth trying out again? I haven't used them in about 6 years, and would have 80TB to slowly move to the cloud. Do they still have major RAM issues? Any other options?
  8. I am just doing some cleanup and was wondering what are the default templates installed with a fresh docker? Under templates I have the following and I assume these are from back in the day when the app store wasn't around.
  9. Mainly because its bent. Its taken some abuse in the last 12 years, I'd rather just replace it with something new.
  10. I am in the process of a major system overhaul and wanted to get some best practices. My array will be moved over to the new hardware as it stands, so beyond potentially seeing some v3.3 issues with the shucked drives, I don't have any questions surrounding that (plan to have array off on first boot to make sure drives all load). CACHE Question: My cache is moving from an SSD to a new NVMe drive. Can I just backup my SSD to the array to bring that online or should i bring everything online with the old SSD first? USB Stick: Should I bring everything online with the old USB stick, or can I do the transfer to a new stick at the same time? My old server doesn't support USB3.0 so I can't do it first unfortunately, but my old stick is 12 years old, so its time haha. Any other gotcha's I should know about? I have done a mobo/cpu swap before without issue, but this is the first time I am changing my SATA cards out to HBA cards and doing a lot more, so I am just trying to cover all my bases and not wipe my array haha.
  11. I believe my case can hold 18 drives total, I need to double check that as it will determine if I buy 2 internal only HBA cards or one with some externals for future growth. My storage is full, so unfortunately removing drives isn't really an option as when I replace one I only gain 10TB - 6TB each time. Data hoarding is a serious issue.
  12. i didnt think unraid was planning to support it for awhile (12th)?
  13. Link to build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NwdcdD I am looking to upgrade my build for sadly the first time in about 8 years haha (maybe thats a good thing). Anyways, below is the run down, was wondering people's thoughts. I am hoping to hear overkill, since it's a first time in a while and I have a comfortable budget. The server is strictly a Plex/NZBGet/Sonarr/Radarr/Lidarr/various plex plugins machine. At any given time, I have 5-10 connections open to it from family members/friends. Can I have my appdata on the NVMe drive while my downloads go to my old SSD? Or should I just do the one MVMe drive? EDIT: Changed Motherboard and RAM out to something a bit better.
  14. @shawnngtq, end up liking the build? I am looking to build out nearly the same specs, and noticed this when I was trying to find a motherboard. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/wickedathletes/saved/tKBDZL
  15. For the past few years I have been using unBALANCE to handle this whenever I replace a drive with a larger drive and want to distribute the wealth across the array. Are their better ways to do this, more specifically a more automated way? For example, I just replaced a 4TB drive with a 14TB drive. My array consists of 4, 8 and 14TB drives. Now that I have 15TB free on my server of 82TB total, I would love the ability to click a button and distribute that evenly among my 13 drives in the array, basically giving each drive 1TB+ free.
  16. sorry, what I meant was, for example: 3 libraries, Kid Shows, TV Shows and Movies. I only want to send updates for Movies and TV Shows. Can I specify specific libraries rather than all or nothing?
  17. thanks! can you specify which libraries get updated?
  18. im just gonna buck up and ask the embarrassing question... https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/server/SERVERID How do I find this, cause I have NO IDEA lol.
  19. Running it now. How do you know if the one run on 1/13 did not have write turned on? My scheduler is set to run on the first day of the month but write corrections is on. So this must have been a crash, do those not write corrections by default?
  20. I did pull my disk 4 some time around the 13th. Maybe its seated bad? I plan to replace it because its causing a bug in unraid, so rather than wait for a fix I figured I would swap it with another 8TB, rebuild parity, then take that 8tb drive a clear it (hopefully fix the bug) and replace a 4TB drive with that. I didn't start this because I had some work done to my home that required power outages, now that thats over of course I have parity showing issues so now I don't want to do it yet haha.
  21. nothing... that is what is confusing me. Nothing in my logs that I can see either... I am running out of space, could a space issue cause something like this? I had 2 drives down to KBs left while something was trying to move to them. I am trying to replace a drive to add some more TB's but didn't want to do anything with my parity with errors in it.
  22. 1/2 was my last 0 errors run. 1/21 was my manually run check.
  23. one was scheduled, the second I manually ran with "Write corrections to parity" checked. Both came back with the same number. All monthly checks have been 0 prior.
  24. Write corrections to parity is checked. Do I need to check something else?
  25. My last 2 parity checks completed but I noticed it: Finding 24047 errors Duration: 1 day, 19 hours, 21 minutes, 52 seconds. Average speed: 89.7 MB/sec Same error count, both checks. Any thoughts on what could be going on? hades-diagnostics-20210121-1803.zip
