Solutions

  1. DigitalDivide's post in Problem Replacing Cache Disk - Wrong Pool State was marked as the answer
figured out. Had to click erase on the drive.
  2. DigitalDivide's post in Can't Boot from USB was marked as the answer
I took out the cmos batter for 5min and was able to get the BIOS to see my keyboard.

The Bios shows boot 1 now from my unraid usb flash. I rebooted and still it boots to the BIOS.  Even though the BIOS sees my sandisk it doesn't want to boot from it.

I just don't know if I am missing somthing in the BIOS

Under USB Configuration  I have  an Option for Legacy USB Support with 3 options, Enabled, Disabled, UEFI Setup Only. Right now I have it set to Enabled.

As far as I can tell those are my only options.
