以前我用一个叫unbalanced的插件，直接转移硬盘数据，不过如果使用docker或者VM的话要注意自己的映射设置。

最近想给Unraid 升级下SSD，需要一条NVME的SSD做系统，docker配置和一些APP的缓存盘，容量不需要太大，1T就行，主要想温度低点，稳定点的，因为我主板也只支持到PCI-E 3.0 还有想再加两个sata的大容量SSD，作为下载盘的缓存，需要2TB左右的，大船货之类的都行。

I see the new 6.12.8 upgrade note mention something about fixing the problem, should I remove this plugin once I upgrade?

Yea, met the same problem before, have to roll back to onboard 2.5G NIC.

This plugin shows up in my recommendation, I was wonder if I need this, running 2 SAS drive in my array with 4 other SATA drives, unraid 6.12.6.

For your currect useage, I am sure a i7 is more than enough, but I don't know how many VMs you plan to run and how you gona use them, if nothing major, I would even suggest a i5.

I know unraid doesn't support docker compose natively, so if I would like to run docker compose on Unraid, which way is better from your experiences？ Using the plugin docker compose manager in the app store？ or run 3rd party management like portainer？

Hey everyone, so I was trying to fine-tune my server settings, but in the mover setting, I only found daily, weekly, or monthly, not my ideal settings. Is there a way I could do a more detailed or advanced mover setting？ like invoking mover every X hours?

yea, T model isn't worth the money if you need to buy one with same price, if you got it cheaper or from dumpster diving it's ok.

Wow, I worked with Eaton for years, no idea they make UPS.😅 Just check with their local cop, they don't sell UPS here, my only options are APC or Santak.

So the 400W is a bit small, maybe something over 800W(anything bigger my tray won't hold）should be OK. Auto start on UPS is more trouble than I thought, maybe using WOL on my router is a much easier option, and if I go with other brands, choices are much cheaper, thank you for the clear explanation. My main reason or focus on auto start is, I am often away from my home, so I need to keep my home server setup needing as little on site maintains as possible.

Those switches can run at 10G to 10G, but the main issue is 10G to multiple 2.5G ports.

Thanks My server PSU is an ENP-7025B, standard output is 250W, max output of 300W, and my smart plug shows the peak load is only 200W for the past year, so I considered it as 300W max, and looking for a UPS around 400W, your recommendation looks a bit overkill? So auto boot is a bit tricky, I was thinking if some smart UPS can set to restore power when its battery charge is above XX% and if I set the power loss state as always on in BIOS, it sort of works as autoboot. I checked the Unraid manual, seems it only supports APC UPS natively.

I am considering a UPS for my unraid server right now, my server is only 300W(max)， so don't need anything fancy Could anyone recommend me a UPS that can support natively in unraid, show power load, can do auto shutdown and auto boot when power is back?

so is there any way I could keep it exclusive(cache-only) and make it show up in webdav share?

My unraid server as a share folder(downloads) set as cache only and on a single SSD, so unraid recognizes it as an exclusive share, but I can still find it as /mnt/user/downloads I also set up a webdav docker, and set /mnt/user as share， but I can't see the downloads folder in there. I have no idea, anything I am missing?

I forgot to mention that the array has no parity drive anyway, because nothing important on the drives.

I used a mini PC N5105 as AIO before, only has a flash drive for unraid OS, and one 256G SSD for VMs and some dockers. It's easy but it can be done with PVE or ESXi with a little more learning curve.

I just take out my HDD, put into another server, use Unassigned Devices mount the HDD, copy away. I am not joking, this was how I transfer files between my server and my friend's server.

I always worry about remote access to my unraid server, since I travel a lot and usually unable to be at home for months. I know the best way recommended by everyone is to use something like Wiregard, but my work environment won't allow that, so right now I am using a very simple and straight forward way to do it: setup ddns on my router get a HTTPS certificate forward the web UI port on my router using HTTPS URL to access my unraid server recently I talked to my brother works in IT, he told me I should use nginx or swag to reverse proxy my unraid server and close the remote access port on my unraid server, I'd like know if it's better and how should I do that? not about the reverse proxy part, but the "close remote access part".
