  1. I tend to do one only but then I have the drive as a cache in my test server so it gets some limited real world use before putting it in the array.
  2. I think the spec doesn't call for that centre hole but I don't think these 8TB drives are the only ones missing it. I saw a post elsewhere about 6TB drives also missing the hole and one somewhere else about the holes on the bottom being different.
  3. Just plug the dedicated IPMI port into a spare port on your switch or router.
  4. What fans do you have in the 120mm Fan Wall? What temperatures are you seeing? There are some settings you can change for the fans in the BIOS which you can do via IPMI.
  5. Some interesting ideas. Summary from The Register :- http://www.theregister.co.uk/2016/02/26/google_cloud_disk_white_paper/ The whitepaper :- http://static.googleusercontent.com/media/research.google.com/en//pubs/archive/44830.pdf
  6. No, thats not how the parity system works in unRAID. Good write-up here :- https://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Parity

  8. I'm not sure on why this is different to the other drives, I just looked at the man page for hdparm.
  9. That command is trying to "spin down" or get the device to enter low power mode.
  10. I thought it did it by default.... I have crashed my server opening rars in MC however so I'm not going to recommend it. EDIT : I should probably add I have unrar installed.... which it isn't in normal unraid.
  11. I have asked this before but never found the answer. I have created my own docker in dockerhub using automated builds from github and set up a repository, how does the update mechanism work? Check for updates never shows an update when I update my code in github. Force update still works fine so not much of an issue but it still bugs me.
  12. If you turn on Plugin update notifications then you already get notified.....
  13. All of my boards have those notes about requiring revision X chassis and they are standard ATX or mATX etc.
  14. Perhaps he is copying data from the simulated disk.... That's what I have done in the past.
  15. They make standard motherboards but also a number of propriety boards designed to fit in their own chassis. As far as i know these are described as such on their website.
  16. No idea... I got it to work just fine :- https://github.com/cdp181/zap2xml EDIT : Well it copies the file... perl is moaning about dependencies when I try to run the script, after I install them it seems to work :- sudo apt-get install libcompress-raw-zlib-perl libhtml-parser-perl libhttp-cookies-perl liblwpx-paranoidagent-perl libconfig-json-perl libjson-xs-perl
  17. Have you created the directory? RUN mkdir -p /zap2xml
  18. I use ADD for mine and specify the full path ie :- ADD sdelete.php /var/www/html/sdelete.php
  19. It appears in my normal podcast client... (Podcast Addict, android)
  20. I assume this document is still valid :- http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Improving_unRAID_Performance#Jumbo_Frames Need to make sure your switch supports jumbo frames and you need to change other things (clients) on the network to use jumbo frames obviously.
  21. Depending on your application you could use some sort of thin client..... Not going to work if you want to play games.
  22. There is an Android and iOS app too. Never used the apple one but the Android one works.. it's a little basic but it is easier to use than the webpage remotely.
  23. This is what I have always done.... not the neatest solution but at least it always works.
