  1. it was array to cache before for app data but that didn't make sense to me...

I changed it and now I got some errors but my parity is rebuilding so I'm not sure I can do anything to fix:

    * **Default docker appdata location is not a cache-only share**
    * **Invalid folder nvme contained within /mnt**
    * Share dump set to cache-only, but files / folders exist on the array
    * Share Ubuntu set to not use the cache, but files / folders exist on the cache drive
    * Share Windows 11 set to not use the cache, but files / folders exist on the cache drive

  2. Wanted to see if someone can point me in the right direction on how to setup appdata in new unraid 6.12.4.

I have a 2x 2tb BTRFS cache drives as my cache.

Why would I want the mover action to be from Array to Cache?  It was cache preferred before.. Thanks!app_data.thumb.png.b5deadd0aaac1377845e9a7ae928b840.png

  3. still getting restarts, I used the set to defaults in bios and only changed power supply idle control.

Everything else is on auto which set the mem to 2133 and cpu to 3800 GHz.

    The mem should be rated for 3600MHz and cpu is a 4.7 GHz.  I have 2x Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3600MHz (PC4-28800) C18 1.35V Desktop Memory - Black (CMH32GX4M2D3600C18)

    Hopefully get some stability back...

  4. Shelf installed and I have 12 drives installed and 11 drives going to a SATA controller or mobo sata.

I have everything off (dockers/smb/vms) and I wanted to make sure I have everything setup for the fastest rebuild speed.

I noticed the speeds are jumping and I see red errors in the log like:  kernel: ata4.01: exception Emask 0x100 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x6 frozen.

I've attached the diag file, please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!

Never used a NetApp shelf, but I believe they are single link, if so better performance would be with as many disks as possible in the current case, this would affect mostly parity checks and rebuilds, unless you use turbo write.

You'll need to do a new config for Unraid to accept the name change.

Gotcha, so leave the drives connected to the SATA controller in PC case and just move over USB stuff to the shelf.

    THANK YOU!

  6. Sorry, I have 2 more question:

Planning on taking ALL 23 hdd's (except cache) drives off SATA/Enclosure/USB and stick them in this shelf.

So the Parity drive will be in the shelf instead of SATA.

Wanted to make sure this makes sense and gives me the best transfer speed possible?

Also, will I have trouble with the 5 drives labeled JMicron?  Is there something I need to run before I move those drives?

Please let me know if you need more info.

Thanks again for your guidance and advice!

Looking forward to the shelf install next week :)
