  1. Okay so its resolved itself this morning! Maybe the commands I did actually did something 🤷‍♂️. I think it has something to do with this witchcraft as @Frank1940 said at the end of this post =D
  2. Hi I would like some help with resetting file/folder permissions on an unassigned drive. I have a folder called launchbox that was on the disk1 in the array for a couple of years. I decide a couple of days ago to move the folder excluding the Games folder that was located within to move it to an ssd for art work loading speed, browsing and also to reduce the frequent file changes that Launchbox does in the background on my aging unraid. (Side note about symbolic links nothing to do with my issue so please skip but maybe helpful for someone else. Instead of redoing the game rom locations and other shortcuts and settings I decided to create my first symbolic link from the Games folder that was left on the array to within the Launchbox folder on the unassigned ssd. The app Link Extentsions (updated to latest) for windows no matter what I tried, mapped drive to mapped drive or unc path to unc path or remote to local then moving it over, running this command: 'fsutil behavior query SymlinkEvaluation' then 'fsutil behavior set SymlinkEvaluation R2R:1', or the windows mk link command would work. It seems it can only be done if it is ntfs so I think I found out in the end. I successfully created a link through the terminal on the server with 'ln -s "path of target directory=/mnt/disk1/Games/Roms" "path for the link to be created=/mnt/disks/Samsung850/Launchbox/Games/". I am not sure in the future whether it will need to be redone to /mnt/remote/ with the change in paths instead as that may not change automatically and if there is a command to show all symbolic links that have been setup that would be handy to have incase I setup more and forget them.) Anyways.. I went about moving the folder like this. I shared the samsung 850 evo drive for the first time through unassinged devices. Went to unasssigned settings and set permissions to r/w for myself the main user. I saw it through windows after 30 seconds or so and I was happy. I opened a midnight commander window and moved the folder over exculding the games rom folder. Once complete I opened launchbox, checked how much faster it was and went to sleep. Yesterday played a few games and at somepoint whilst changing something in Launchbox it popped up a box about permissions, I didn't catch exactly what it said and I closed the box which closed launchbox but didn't flow it up. Today I was changing some settings in pcsx2 and again something about permissions popped up that it couldn't write to the file. I changed the smb permission in unassigned to public but still no luck. I know there are other files besides this one that are affected and I've searched for solutions and tried these things I came across: Ran 'newperms /mnt/disks/Samsung\ 850\ EVO' or any folder or direct to: 'newperms /mnt/disks/Samsung\ 850\ EVO/LaunchBox/Emulators/PCSX2/inis/LilyPad.ini' just completes instantly. I tried: chmod -R 777 /mnt/disks/Samsung\ 850\ EVO/LaunchBox/Emulators/PCSX2/inis/LilyPad.ini & chown -R nobody:users /mnt/disks/Samsung\ 850\ EVO/LaunchBox/Emulators/PCSX2/inis/LilyPad.ini @Squid Would it be an idea to be able to include unassigned disks and with the rise in disk pools with 6.9 to be in tips and tweaks maybe as a seperate button to check permissions on them too? Commands & others you cant see specific to the path of LilyPad.ini just to see if I can get that working again Only 850 evo is the problem, the other ssd has a vm vdisk on it. Diagnostic attached. Thanks 🙏 unraid-diagnostics-20201230-0006.zip
